Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has the largest Muslim population in the world. Currently, it is estimated that the number of Muslims reaches 207 million people, most of whom adhere to the Sunni sect of Islam. This large number implies that around 13% of Muslims worldwide live in Indonesia and also implies that the majority of the population in Indonesia adheres to Islam (almost 90% of the Indonesian population). However, even though the majority of the population is Muslim, Indonesia is not an Islamic country based on Islamic laws. In facing social changes in society, every devout religious follower will use the doctrine of his religious teachings to face all conditions that exist in his living environment. Islam acts as a value system that contains certain norms. The ongoing Islamization process has provided significant results both for Islam and for Indonesia. With this role of Islam, the dimensions of human life will be orderly and disciplined.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing moral crisis and character degradation among the younger generation in the modern era, which requires strengthening character education based on religious values. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Qur’anic tahfizh learning method in shaping students’ character at Ma’had Tahfizhil Qur’an Yayasan Islamic Centre Sumatera Utara. A qualitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, administrators, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the Qur’anic tahfizh learning method, implemented through muroja’ah activities, halaqah, memorization deposits, worship habituation, and teachers’ role modeling, effectively contributes to the development of students’ religious character, discipline, responsibility, and noble morals. A conducive boarding school environment also supports the character-building process. However, several challenges were identified, including the low motivation of some students and the influence of digital technology, which may reduce students’ learning focus. These findings indicate that Qur’anic tahfizh learning plays an important role in supporting character development among students in the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study examines the theory of the blessing of knowledge in Alwashliyah education as a philosophical and practical foundation in shaping Islamic character and educational values. The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of blessed knowledge in Islamic educational traditions and its implementation in the educational culture of Alwashliyah institutions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, examining various scientific sources such as books, journals, and educational documents related to Islamic education and Alwashliyah thought. The findings reveal that the theory of blessed knowledge in Alwashliyah education emphasizes sincerity, moral discipline, respect for teachers, and the integration of religious and social values. Knowledge is not only understood as intellectual achievement but also as a spiritual path that brings benefits to individuals and society. The implementation of this theory is reflected in character education, teacher exemplification, worship habits, and the strengthening of Islamic organizational values in schools and universities. The study concludes that the theory of blessed knowledge remains relevant in responding to contemporary educational challenges, especially amid the moral crisis and the dominance of materialistic educational orientations.

Abstract

The digitalization of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning is a transformation of the learning system that utilizes digital technology to improve the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of education. The digitalization of PAI learning brings significant transformations in various sectors of life, including Islamic education. Digitalization not only changes the method of presenting knowledge, but also opens new opportunities in the internalization of balanced Islamic values. In this case, the digitalization of Islamic education plays an important role as a means of strengthening peace education that aims to instill the values of tolerance, empathy, and social justice. The process of digitalizing Islamic education can strengthen peace education through the integration of information technology in learning activities, da'wah, and Islamic character training. Thus, it can form a religious character of students in overcoming moral crises, juvenile delinquency, and misuse of technology in students. The values of honesty, responsibility, discipline, and Islamic digital literacy are instilled in students
