Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interpersonal communication skills of students, characterized by passive attitudes, minimal participation, and lack of confidence in expressing opinions. This is due to the use of conventional teaching methods that are still dominated by the lecture method. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ASSURE model on students' interpersonal communication skills in PAI learning at SMAN 1 Pardasuka. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Posttest Only Control Group Design. The research sample consists of 60 eleventh-grade students selected thru cluster random sampling, with class XI-2 as the experimental class (ASSURE model) and class XI-3 as the control class (conventional learning). The instrument in the form of an interpersonal communication questionnaire with 22 valid items based on DeVito's theory, namely openness, empathy, supportive attitude, positive attitude, and equality, with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability of 0.797. The results of the Independent Samples T-Test show a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.005 < 0.05, thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which proves that the ASSURE learning model is effective in improving students' interpersonal communication skills in PAI learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Cooperative Learning in Al-Qur'an Hadith learning and examine its role in strengthening students' tolerance attitudes at SMK Sunan Giri Driyorejo. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving an Al-Qur'an Hadith teacher, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that Cooperative Learning was implemented through heterogeneous group formation, group discussions, presentations, and reflective learning activities. This learning model created a participatory and collaborative learning environment that enabled students to interact, exchange ideas, and work together in completing learning tasks. The development of tolerance attitudes was reflected in students’ ability to respect differing opinions, listen to others’ perspectives, accept diverse personal characteristics, demonstrate empathy, and build cooperation within learning groups. Supporting factors included a religious school culture, teacher support, and a collaborative learning environment, while inhibiting factors consisted of students’ tendency to choose particular peers and unequal participation during group discussions. The study demonstrates that Cooperative Learning functions not only as an instructional strategy to enhance student engagement but also as a mechanism for internalizing tolerance values and strengthening religious moderation in Al-Qur'an Hadith learning. These findings contribute to the development of Islamic Religious Education by highlighting the role of Cooperative Learning in fostering tolerance through structured social interaction and collaborative learning experiences.

Abstract

Teachers are responsible for identifying each student's interests through their abilities. Teachers' skills in determining teaching methods are crucial because they influence the success of the teaching and learning process. By implementing innovation, teachers can increase the attractiveness, engagement, and effectiveness of the learning process. Therefore, it is highly recommended that teachers incorporate innovation into their teaching and learning activities. This study aims to determine teacher innovation in increasing student learning interest in the subject (SKI) at MTs Negeri 1 Pesawaran. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study consisted of Islamic cultural history teachers and class VII students of MTs Negeri 1 Pesawaran. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that SKI teachers implemented learning innovations to increase student learning interest by using the storytelling method as a more engaging and interactive learning approach. The purpose of implementing this method is to foster student learning interest through feelings of enjoyment, interest, attention, and active involvement during the learning process. Through storytelling, the material on Islamic Cultural History is presented in a coherent and easy-to-understand story so that students can better appreciate the historical events being studied. In addition, this method encourages students to actively listen, provide responses, express opinions, and re-present the material according to their understanding. Thus, the application of the storytelling method can create a more lively learning atmosphere and contribute positively to increasing student learning interest.
