Abstract

Plasma cutting is a method of cutting metal, especially steel, with relatively low cost and effectiveness, with satisfactory results. Where in the cut, it is enough to need a plasma cutting machine/inverter that is quite affordable, widely available in the market, and simple tools, an air compressor (no special oxygen/gas needed as in gas/oxygen and acetylene/LPG cutting), a power source, the material being cut and the cutting process can be carried out. How to use plasma cutting is relatively easy, namely by setting the machine and then directing the plasma torch to the cutting plane as needed by maintaining a stable movement and height. However, when we make repeated cuts, our concentration and physical strength will automatically decrease, so we need a tool that can help us direct/adjust the plasma torch, which is called a plasma cutting mechanism. After paying attention to these needs, a plasma cutting mechanism was designed with a working space/cutting length of 1200 mm, with a tool size of 1400 mm x 300mm x 200 mm length, width and height, estimated cost of Rp. 3,050,000,-, with a cutting speed setting of 100 mm/minute to 1000 mm/minute, a cutting height of 0 to 10 mm with an angle of 0 degree to 90 degree.

Abstract

Acceleration is the change in speed in a certain unit of time. The method applied in this research is the experimental method. The purpose of the analysis of the modification of the automatic clutch system to the manual clutch system on motorcycle acceleration is to determine the results of the modification of the automatic clutch system to the manual clutch system on acceleration. The results of the first test showed that the average acceleration in the automatic clutch system was 101.05 m/s2, and the second an average acceleration was 101.14 m/s2, so the average acceleration was 101.095 m/s2. When using the manual clutch system, the first test results obtained an average acceleration of 77.87 m/s2, the second obtained an average acceleration of 78.51, so the average acceleration was 78.19 m/s2. So the average acceleration using the automatic clutch system is 101,095 m/s2, while those using the manual clutch system are 78.19 m/s2. There was a very significant difference of 101.095 m/s2 - 78.19 m/s2 = 22,905 or 22.65%. This means the use of the manual clutch system accelerates faster than the automatic clutch system.

Abstract

This paper discusses the simulation of control of a clean water pump system based on PLC. This simulation tool uses 3 tanks: tower tank, consumption tank and ground tank. The PLC used is the Zelio SR3PACKBD Smart Relay. The input is a stainless steel rod sensor placed in the tower tank and ground tank. The output is 2 pump motors and a solenoid valve. PLC program used Ladder diagram with ZELIO SOFT 2 programs. The test results show satisfactory results and the equipment required is very simple compared to conventional controls.

Abstract

In motor vehicles, especially motorcycles, sometimes there are a lot of problems with the wheel rim in the event of an accident, or hit by a pothole that causes the wheel rim to be dented. In this case, we design a motorcycle wheel rim press tool as shown in Figure 2.1. The things that must be considered for a tool design in material selection are hardness, strength, fragility. The types of materials used are carbon steel, alloy steel, hollow steel, U iron, axle iron, angle iron, plate iron. In general, there are several grades of iron, including JIS G3101 SS400, ASTMA 36; BS 4360; DIN 17 100JIS G 3101; JIS 3106; SNI 07 2054, which has a different maximum tensile strength or stress by using formulas, for example the calculation of shafts, levers, weld strength and selection of hydraulic jacks. Supporting instruments in the process of working on the wheel rim press tool are machine tools and other measuring tools. To obtain truly satisfactory results from a tool, we are required to observe and look for alternatives and as carefully as possible in order to achieve a result that meets the standard. The tool must have high efficiency, easy to operate, and uphold work safety. Based on the results of the design and testing of the design of this motorcycle wheel rim press tool, it is more efficient, fast, and precise when compared to the tools owned by David Jaya Motor's workshop. The time required is faster according to the test results, which is between 25 minutes to 40 minutes with different wheel rim damage cases, while manually at the David Jaya Motor workshop, from observing field test results it takes a minimum of 90 minutes.

Abstract

The use of air conditioning system currently mostly uses the vapor compression cycle. One such air conditioning machine is a direct expansion type AC. In this type of air conditioner, the air is directly cooled by the refrigerant. Cold air is flowed through the air duct to be entered into the room to be cooled. The refrigerant used is R-410A which does not contain chlorine so it does not cause depletion of the ozone layer because it has an ODP = 0. This direct expansion unit trainer uses an expansion device in the form of a capillary tube and an external equalizer type TXV. To determine the size of the capillary tube on the trainer unit, the direct expansion type uses the CapSel version 1.0 application program. By using the input data for refrigerant type R-134A, refrigeration capacity 2,637.6 Watt (9000 BTU/hour), evaporation temperature 5 °C condensation temperature 47 °C, and return gas temperature 12 °C, the recommended capillary pipe size data is obtained, namely the length of the pipe. capillary 1.47 m with an inner diameter of 2.50 mm. The test was carried out by varying the velocity of the air leaving the airways at high speed (22.3 ft/s) and at low speed (7.9 ft/s). The refrigerant temperature and pressure data are measured at 4 measurement points and the measurement of the electric current entering the system. After processing the data and entering it into the Coolpack application program, the average COP and EER in the low speed position produce a higher price than the high speed position.

Abstract

This paper presents a thermodynamic study on energy performance of a split AC system with R-32 for the application of educational buildings at the Bali State Polytechnic. The study was conducted using a standalone computer program U-CoolS V.1.12 which was developed on the EES (Engineering Equation Solver) V11,334 program. A thermodynamic model was developed and validated using data from the technical specifications of various types of split AC. Thermodynamic studies were carried out based on variations in ambient temperature in the Bali Region. The effect of two operating parameters of a split AC system, namely the condensing temperature in the condenser and the evaporation temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator, on the compressor performance and energy performance of the AC system is simulated. Thermodynamic simulation results show the strong influence of condensing temperature and evaporation temperature on compressor performance and overall energy performance of the split AC system. It was found that for 1 °C increase in condensing temperature, the compressor power increased quite significantly around 2.1%, the cooling capacity of the split AC system decreased by 1.8%, COP and EER also decreased by 3.9%. Meanwhile, for 1 °C increase in evaporation temperature, it was found an increase in compressor power consumption of around 0.31%, an increase in cooling capacity of 4.4% and an increase in COP and EER of 4.1%. The results of this thermodynamic study also show that the split AC system performance using R-32 refrigerant has a very good COP range from 3.27 to 5.95 with the implication that R-32 refrigerant has the potential to be a refrigerant for a split AC system.

Abstract

Abstract: Technological developments also affect the progress and motivation to read the book. One technology developed in the field of electronics is an effort to increase interest in reading. With the tool Design Building Page Flipper Automatic Book Using Microcontroller ATmega328P then can make an alternative to open the book sheet. In addition, this tool is also appropriately utilized by people with special needs or have physical limitations (hand disability). With this tool can make it easier for someone to read a book because it is designed using an automated system. The automatic book page flipper tool uses an ATmega328P Microcontroller 4 servo motors where the servo motor 1 moves 100° to lower the lever on the drive wheel with a time delay of 1 second along with the operation of servo 2 which is marked by the movement of the wheel rotating 100° so that the book sheet or file is slightly attracted by the 1 second delay, then servo 3 moves which functions as a hold for the book or file sheet with a 100° movement, with a time delay of 1 second and servo 4 moves 180° as the thrower of the book sheet or file. And the sound sensor functions to give commands to the ATmega328P microcontroller which will later give orders to the ATmega 328P microcontroller which will later drive all the servo motors when getting commands.   Keywords: Microcontroller, sensor, servo motor

Abstract

Fire is something that occurs as a result of a fire that is not handled properly and quickly. This incident is very dangerous considering the potential to cause material losses and loss of life. Various fire detection systems have been developed to detect and prevent fires. So far, many kinds of research on fire detection use fire and smoke sensors, and others, but that alone is not enough. It takes a tool that can detect a fire at the same time and know-how the conditions are when a fire occurs. With the development of technology, the use of computer vision is used to detect fires in real-time. Besides being able to detect fires, the system can also provide an overview of the current state of the fire through the camera. In this study, a computer vision-based fire detection was designed. Where it uses the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm to detect fires and is accompanied by telegram notifications and buzzers. In the fire detection test, 4 different fire sources were used, namely small torch candles, large torches, and coconut fiber. From the test data for fire detection in various backgrounds, the accuracy value is 0.8, precision is 1 and recall is 0.8 during the day. While at night, the accuracy is 0.96, precision is 1 and recall is 0.96. The level of accuracy and recall values ​​in testing various distances results in a fire detection system that will decrease as the distance between the fire and the camera is far away. The precision value produces a value of 1 at various distances during the day and night. That means the accuracy of the classification results is 100%. The stable precision value is influenced by fire detection readings, where the system never detects other objects as fire.

Abstract

This automatic water filling and bottle closing system can usually be used in the industrial world, because it can facilitate and save processing time. For this reason, an automatic water filling machine was made to produce packaged drinks that are practical and easy to obtain. In this machine, there are components that play an important role in the operation of this automatic machine, including the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which is a control device that can be programmed logically, accepts input, and provides output. In the manufacture of this automatic water filling and bottle closing device, 4 sensors and 1 limit switch are used, each sensor has its own function. The 4 (four) sensors include: conveyor sensor, rotation sensor, bottle closing sensor and reset sensor. The limit switch on this tool functions as a stop motor rotation when the bottle is closed. After several experiments, it took 13 seconds to fill a bottle with a capacity of 600 ml.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance and energy consumption of the freezer machine for mobile ice cream sellers using the environmentally friendly MC134 refrigerant with a compressor capacity of 1/10 HP. This research was conducted using an experimental method. The size of the capillary tube is determined using the Cap Tube 1.0.8.0 application program. The evaporator used is a bare tube type that is wrapped around an ice cream box. The test is carried out by measuring the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant, the temperature in the ice cream box, as well as the electric current and voltage in the system. The results of the analysis of performance and energy consumption will also be compared if the system uses HFC134a refrigerant. From the test results obtained the optimum mass that is filled into the system for MC134 refrigerant is 155 grams and the optimum mass for 134a refrigerant is 202 grams. The use of MC134 refrigerant is more efficient by 23.3%. The COP for MC134 refrigerant is 3.1 while the COP for 134a refrigerant is 2.7. The energy consumption for MC134 is 67.8 kJ while for R134a is 83 kJ.
