Mathematical reasoning ability is one of the learning objectives that are expected to develop optimally in students. But in reality, students' mathematical reasoning abilities cannot always be achieved by students optimally. This is also found in class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. One of the factors that causes this to happen is the lack of trained students to use and develop mathematical reasoning skills properly. One of the efforts that can be done to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities is to apply a contextual teaching and learning approach. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the mathematical reasoning ability of students who used a contextual teaching and learning approach was better than the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who used conventional learning in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental design with a posttest only control design. design. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. Sampling was done by random sampling technique. Class VIII-7 was selected as the experimental class and class VIII-8 as the control class. The research instrument used was a final test sheet in the form of description questions to see students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Based on the analysis of the results of the final test of students' mathematical reasoning abilities, it was concluded that mathematical reasoning abilities by learning using a contextual teaching and learning approach were better than learning using conventional learning, which could be seen at an error rate of 5%. This shows that there is an influence on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The average test for the experimental class is 82.63 and the control class is 60.59

The development of creative thinking skills really needs to be done because this ability is one of the abilities that the world of work wants. Mathematics learning needs to be designed so that it has the potential to develop students' creative thinking. The observation results show that teachers still pay little attention to students' creative thinking skills. Creative thinking ability tests have been compiled and validated by the validator. Based on the identification and definition of the problem that has been simplified, the formulation of the problem in this study can be formulated, namely how is the test instrument for measuring the creative thinking abilities of junior high school students. The purpose of this study was to develop a test instrument that measures the creative thinking abilities of junior high school students. Based on the data obtained, the average validation result by experts is 3.36. and 84%. So, it can be concluded that the development of a test instrument to measure creative thinking skills is feasible to use

Physic Education and Technology Simulation is a learning media in the form of interactive multimedia-based computer software in the form of a series of laboratory equipment that simulates laboratory activities such as the use of appropriate practicum media by the user. To find out the effect of the use of phed-based virtual laboratories on the high level of thinking ability of class X IPA students is the purpose of this study, with 25 student samples. Purposive sampling technique is a sampling method in this study. This research is a type of quantitative research. The Quasi Experiment Method is the method used in this study, by way of Nonequivalent Control Group Design which includes two classes namely the control class and the experimental class where this is randomly chosen from the sample of two classes. The data collected is obtained by giving pre-test questions and post-test high-level thinking skills. N-Gain testing is a technique used to analyze data. The results of the study referring to the N-Gain calculation showed that the experimental class was higher than the control class. High-level thining skills increased by 59 % in the experimental class and 12 % in the control class. Based on the results og N-Gain calculations, students’ high-level thinking skills increase after using PhET for learning simulations

Mathematics learning based on the 2013 curriculum aims to develop students' knowledge, understanding, and analysis skills of the natural environment and its surroundings. The assessment of the 2013 curriculum explicitly requested that teachers in schools in balance in conducting assessments in three domains of domains, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor in accordance with their goals to be measured. One of the abilities that are considered low according to the teacher and most students are the ability to solve mathematical problems that are categorized as HOTS. Through the matter of hots, the curiosity and understanding of students of the material also increase. This research is a type of qualitative research with a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach. In this study, validity, reliability, problem distinguishing power and difficulty level were conducted. The results showed that the aspect of its validity was that there were 2 (8%) the problem was very significant, 8 (32%) the problem was categorized as significant, and 15 (60%) the category was not significant. Reliability test results on questions belong to the high category. The results of his research show that the results of the analysis of the distinguishing power of the learning outcomes test items are questions that have good differentiating power should be entered and recorded in the bank's book. And the results of the difficulty level of the difficulty have not met the criteria as good, as the level of difficulty is unbalanced.
