Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of describing the validity of the student activity sheet based on Guided Inquiry Reading Infusion strategy. This study uses a 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), but this research is limited only to the Develop stage. Collecting research data using a questionnaire to determine the validity of the student worksheets. The validated student worksheets are student worksheet 1, student worksheet 2, and student worksheet 3. The results showed the analysis of the value of validity value on the aspects of the Dikdactic requirements of 85.27%, 87.08%, and 88.20%, aspects of the constructive requirements of 89.27%, 87.79%, and 88,16% and on the technical requirements of 85.00%, 88.33%, and 87.22%. The conclusion of this research is Guided Inquiry worksheets based on Reading Infusion strategies on the sub-material of liquid pressure to improve students' scientific literacy are declared feasible and valid.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze online learning activities using the LMS Google Classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic on environmental pollution material. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely by describing student activities during online learning. The subject of this research were students of SMPN 1 Sidoarjo class 7C and 7E totaling 60 students. The data analysis technique through 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the LMS Google Classroom was vital and helped students to show their learning activeness during online learning. The number of students who are active when learning using Google Classroom is 75,5%. Problems arise during online learning were related as running out of quota, low signal, smartphone errors, attending family events, not being able to access questions that have been assigned and not checking new assignments in Google Classroom. Teachers have made various efforts and provided innovations so that learning using the LMS Google Classroom can foster student activity during online learning and learning materials can be accepted by students to the maximum.

Abstract

This research has the aims of representing science learning with the help of video conferencing during the Covid-19 pandemic era, which includes aspects of the level of productivity or pedagogy of science teachers as facilitators and active involvement interests, as well as the expectations of learners. This research method used an exploratory study research type with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection techniques using survey techniques that use instruments questionnaire where scale 5 Likert and open. The technique of determining participants using purposive sampling. There are two data analyses of Miles and Huberman’s data analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques through percentage calculations. The results of the research showed their perception preference for video conference media is very helpful for them in learning online and fostering the interest of learners. Then in the pedagogy aspect, the teacher gives a clear explanation of the material, but the use of video conference has not been fully effective due to connection quality problems which ultimately cut learning time and interaction such as feedback and discussions are only given if there is time left in learning. The expectations of learners include learning by being directly like practice, demonstrating by utilizing props as well as improving the quality of visual video, images and sound in the use of video conferences. The implications of this research include the use of video conference is very helpful for learners’ communication in online learning and tends to develop the interest of learners.

Abstract

This research aims to identify student’s learning motivation in online learning in science subjects through the SAVI (Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual) model using vibration and wave materials. The research design used Pre-Experimental Design through One Group Pretest-Posttest Design The research respondents were 32 students of class VIII. Data collection techniques with questionnaires, observation of teacher and student activities, and evaluation tests. The questionnaire analysis technique uses a Likert scale which is calculated to increase studen’t motivation using the N-Gain test and is interpreted into the N-Gain category. Analysis of student activities using observation sheets which are interpreted into the criteria for student activity scores, and analysis of evaluation tests. Through the observation sheet, it can be seen from the students' activities are classified as very good after using the SAVI learning model. The results showed that students' learning motivation increased by 78.16 (N-Gain category: high) with 23 students being highly motivated and 9 students being moderately motivated. The implementation of learning using the SAVI learning model is in the very good category. Classical completeness reached 81.25%. Thus, in general, the application of SAVI on vibration and wave material can be used as a reference by science teachers as a reference for increasing student motivation in SMPN 1 Ngadirojo, especially class VIII.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problems with mind maps in measuring students' conceptual understanding and student learning outcomes in making mind maps on the human excretory system for grade VIII junior high school students. The data collection method used is to collect data in the form of quasi-experiments which only require one class without a control class. The design of this research is the One-Shot Case Study. The data analysis technique used in this method is descriptive qualitative. The assessment instrument obtained in this study was in the form of data on students' understanding abilities in making mind maps, questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained will be carried out based on rubric analysis related to students' understanding of concepts through the creation of a mind map project. The research subjects were students of class VIII-E at SMP Negeri 2 Bojonegoro which opened 32 students. The results showed that the use of learning outcomes in the form of mind maps helped students understand the concept of learning in the human excretory material system. As for the results of the study, it can be seen that student learning outcomes in understanding concepts to produce mind map products are in good category. The overall ability of students in making mind maps is 25% very good, 67% in good category and 8% with categories. In addition, 53.3% of students responded well, applied learning to produce mind map products.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of digital modules based on deductive approaches to improve student learning outcomes. There are 15 students from the 2nd grade of SMPN 1 Purwosari academic year of 2020/2021 at even semester that they had been being the subject of the research. This research classified as pre-experimental research; one group pretest-posttest design. The learning was using digital modules through Whatsapp Messenger media for coordination, coordination that occurs six times, including the pretest and posttest giving, as well as student response questionnaires. The response' questionnaire contains the assessment of learners on the use of e-module based on deductive approaches. The results of various research data processing show that the effectiveness of digital modules is fairly good. The N-gain score obtained a moderate category result. Paired Sample T-test obtained a significance level result (effective). While on the response questionnaire score the response was in the very good category. This shows that there is a difference in the test results of students due to the use of digital modules. Based on the results of several tests, it is concluded that digital modules based on deductive approaches are effective for improving the learning outcomes of the subject research.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the science communication skills of students in class IX Natural Science learning at Yayasan SMP during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were students of class IX SMP Yayasan Pandaan which consisted of twenty-five students. This research method uses a case study research method using research instruments in the form of questionnaires on Google Forms media. The data analysis technique used for this research is descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate the average score in the less category. The conclusion of this research is that the science communication skills of class IX students during the COVID-19 pandemic are still lacking due to several factors, namely the teacher uses the WhatsApp application to explain the essence of the material, the teacher does not use Zoom, and the students are only given assignments which make students lazy, so that students' science communication has not been fully achieved.

Abstract

Online learning during a pandemic will certainly affect the practicum implementation process, one of which is due to inadequate facilities and infrastructure. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of online science learning on the implementation of practicum in several East Java junior high schools. This research used surveyo research with descriptive method (interviews and questionnaires). The results of this study indicate that the impact of online learning in science practicum activities is the implementation of practicum activities carried out individually in their respective homes through supporting applications. The explanation of the practicum activities is carried out directly by the teacher through Google Meet/Zoom and the teacher also provides a practicum module or student worksheets during the practicum. Applications used during online practicum activities include Zoom, Google Meet, Micorsoft 365, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Sway, PhET Simulations, and WhatsApp. Another consequence of online learning is the online reporting of practicum activities in the form of videos and portfolio sheets. After collecting the practicum report, the teacher gives an evaluation at the next meeting. The positive impact of online practicum activities is increasing independent learning skills, creativity, and digital literacy. Obstacles in the implementation of online practicum are limited tools and materials, teachers cannot guide directly, and practicum methods are not varied. This causes some materials to be unable to conduct the practicum and students are less able to understand the practicum well.

Abstract

The learning process in online classes during the pandemic rarely comes to practice, this can be overcome with a Home Laboratory practicum. Knowing the effect of implementing a Home Laboratory on the topic of heat transfer on the science process skills of SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya students during the covid 19 pandemic is the purpose of this research. Quasi experimental was used as the design and subjects of this study were students of class VII-A, VII-B, and VII-C of SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya for the academic year 2020/2021. The sample selection using random sampling technique or random selection of as many as twenty students. The instruments used are test and non-test with quantitative descriptive methods. The tests are in the form of pretest and posttest with multiple choice reasons, while the non-test is Home Laboratory performance assessment and student worksheet assessment. The data collection technique used a written test in the form of reasoned multiple-choice questions, the results were analyzed through percentages and then projected on improving science process skills. The interpretation criteria of the results of the analysis of each aspect of the science process skills of each student experienced an increase from the pretest. The average value of the performance score in each Home Laboratory practicum is said to exceed the KKM, which is 91.6. Overall, the results of the research on the implementation of the Home Laboratory practicum on the topic of heat transfer during the pandemic at SMP Negeri 60 Surabaya is said to be influential in training students' science process skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of a scientific approach to science learning during the pandemic at SMP Negeri 58 Surabaya. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data used is in the form of learning recordings carried out through web meetings such as Google Meet and Zoom.. The resource persons of this research are science subject teachers. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, document studies and questionnaires. The analysis technique is through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the teacher had made a lesson plan with a scientific approach but the teacher had not explained it explicitly, systematically and comprehensively because the teacher found it difficult to determine the approach and model used during bold learning in each meeting. The implementation of learning by teachers has used a scientific approach, including the process of observing, asking questions, gathering information or trying, associating or reasoning and communicating but in its implementation it is still not optimally carried out there are several obstacles between passive students in learning, limited learning time and lack of ability of educators in learning. implement a scientific approach. Teachers use authentic assessments to assess the competence of attitudes, knowledge and skills of students. The teacher has not completed the assessment instrument and rubric because the teacher is not used to using the assessment instrument.
