Abstract

The Niger Delta region of Nigeria has become a paradox of poverty, underdevelopment and neglect in the midst of wealth. The region is endowed with rich deposits of crude oil, but its people are suffering from excruciating poverty, environmental degradation and policy neglect. Through historical survey method, the paper explored the earlier cases of agitation for attention before the attainment of independence, and the empirical cases of the regions concerted approach to cry out because of abandonment, policy inconsistencies and a near neglect of the region. The paper explored the subject in terms of government efforts at obviating their palpable efforts at failure, the irresponsibility of the oil exploring and processing companies and the very hazardous cases of environmental degradation. The paper makes a case for the fact that giving attention to the region must become a mandate for every regime, since it has become a policy trust. It went on to alert the present government that the NDDC has a clear mission for the development of the region. And that their renewed hope agenda does not have to look too far. It went further to aver that adopting the polycentric approach to policy making, stakeholders, governments, the communities and the people in the region would become the better for it.

Abstract

The Right to Education for women is a part of human rights, where the right to education is considered essential for individuals to meet their educational needs and achieve their desired level of education. Women's right to education in Pakistan has become a significant issue due to various socio-economic and cultural barriers. This article examines the educational disparity between men and women in Pakistan, driven by social, cultural, and economic factors. Patriarchal cultural norms, poverty, and the lack of educational facilities are the main obstacles for women in accessing quality education. Furthermore, social stigma and traditional gender roles also limit their participation in education and social life. The Malala Fund, founded by Malala Yousafzai after the Taliban attack in 2012, has emerged as a leading force in advocating for women's right to education. The Malala Fund aims to reduce the gender gap in education by providing financial support, strengthening local programs, and raising global awareness about the importance of girls' education. Collaborations with UNESCO, NGOs, and the Pakistani government have laid the foundation for creating meaningful change for women, especially in rural areas with limited infrastructure. Although there has been progress in advocating for women's right to education, significant challenges remain, particularly related to patriarchal cultural norms, limited resources, and government policies that are not yet fully optimized. This research employs a qualitative descriptive model, with data collection through secondary sources or literature reviews from books, journals, news articles, and official websites.

Abstract

The formulation, adoption and implementation of appropriate trade-oriented economic policies have become imperative as an indispensable tool for stimulating and regulating trade development process. A more favorable trade negotiation position combined with sound political, macroeconomic and infrastructural policy frameworks is the best route to stimulating trade performance and reaps the benefits of fuller participation in the global trading system. In light of this, this paper examines potential future areas of stronger collaboration between Nigeria and Türkiye and presents specific policy recommendations. In particular, the paper contributes to economic policy-making efforts in terms of current dynamics and future prospects of increased bilateral relations. Also, Türkiyes policy and specific initiatives toward the African continent was discussed. The new atmosphere of the 100th anniversary of the republic of Türkiye notwithstanding the controversy about its orientation, including those toward Africa connected with the goal of establishing hegemony, economic and political investments in Nigeria would bring about a new momentum to bilateral relations. In conclusion, in their search for alternative export markets, Turkish exporters now consider that Nigeria has great potential for meeting their economic interests. This paper therefore is a wakeup call that will advance the economic and political co-operation between Türkiye and Nigeria going forward.

Abstract

The preference of countries to use cyber diplomacy strategies by utilizing social media, Instagram to support the realization of their national interests has become an international phenomenon today. Cyber diplomacy in the modern era of international relations has turned out to be an instrument for countries to exercise their soft power and convey specific messages aimed at the global public. Thus, cyber diplomacy can be an alternative for countries that have serious challenges conveying formal diplomacy using conventional means. Palestine, as an entity that still has legal status, also utilizes cyber diplomacy as a strategy to gain support and recognition from the international community. This article aims to answer the question of how Palestinian diplomacy can gain support from countries in the world. The results of this research show that Palestinian cyber diplomacy is carried out using the Instagram account @eye.on. Palestine focuses on providing information to the international community regarding the conditions in Palestine. Posts uploaded by the @eye.on.Palestine account can be categorized into four things, namely the suffering of the Palestinian people due to Israeli attacks, damage to infrastructure in Palestine, Israeli attacks on Palestinians and support provided by other countries to Palestine. The cyber diplomacy carried out by Palestine has not been able to stop Israel's attacks on Palestine. Still, through this diplomacy, the Palestinian people have received a lot of support from various countries, which can be seen from the large number of global public opinions that are pro-Palestinian.

This article discusses efforts to fulfill the facilities and rights of Muslim women when using public spaces for exercise. Fulfillment of this right is seen based on the presence of sports products that carry the syari concept, one of which is syari sportswear products. Alur Cerita is present as one of the brands that produce syari sportswear. However, through Alur Cerita, the author reviews how the Alur Cerita brand was built and known to the public through social media? How does the Alur Cerita brand build the concept of visual attraction through social media as art to fulfill the needs of Muslim women to exercise in public spaces and is there a connection with the Islamic market? To answer some of these questions, this research was written using a qualitative descriptive approach and elaborated using virtual ethnographic methods. Overall data collection in this research was carried out by collecting data online and supported by several relevant literature. The results of this research are that Alur Cerita is not only present as a syar'i brand, but also takes a role in carrying out Islamic market activities. Then, Alur Cerita has also become an Islamic commodity that is used not only to fulfill Muslim women's needs, but also as an effort aimed at making a profit. In addition, branding techniques are used well in the form of soft campaigns to convey persuasive narratives for Muslim women.

Abstract

Apart from the Boko Haram and Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) terrorism, banditry, kidnapping for ransoms, armed robbery, ritual killings, cybercrimes, attacks from unknown gunmen and Fulani herdsmen militancy, there is no issue in Nigeria in recent times that has attracted greater concern than the contestation for political restructuring and resource control conceived by many as panaceas for good governance. It is within this premise that study examined the fundamental causes of these contestations or agitations, and ascertained whether restructuring will serve the purpose for good governance in Nigeria. Descriptive analysis was adopted and qualitative method of data collection was utilised to gather materials for the study. This study finds it apposite to adopt Structural functionalism as its theoretical framework which its development is traced to Herbert Spencer, Emile Durkhein and Karl Marx, among others. The findings of this study revealed that the deepening contestations for political restructuring, resource control, constitutional amendment, and restoration of regional government by different groups, including professional bodies, trade unions, regional based groups and some section of the civil society is targeted at installation of true-federalism which is described by many as a panacea for good governance across the regions of the country, thus, this study finds it necessary to suggest that the government should overhaul the countrys political structure and provide constitutional backing for resource control to sub-national governments. There is also the need for decetralisation of the central which guarantees good governance at the grassroot levels.
