This article looks at the existence of the use of the Malay identity used by regional head candidates in the 2013 Riau Province gubernatorial election. The research method used in this research is the literature study method by analyzing various journals that discuss identity politics and the use of identity in the head election. The results show that in the process, regional representative politics is a strategy that has significance for the victory of Annas Maamun and Arsyad Juliandi Rachman. However, this strategy also needs to be supported by ethnic identity politics for the Riau Coastal and Riau Malay ethnic groups. Thus, this confirms that the use of Riau Malay identity in the implementation of local democracy still serves as an additional strategy in winning the regional head elections in Riau Province.

Education is a means of educating the nation. Through the education of every citizen is able to maximize the potential establish a life and advance civilization. School-Based Management in an effort decentralized management of education in Indonesia is expected to improve the quality of education on an ongoing basis. The purpose of this study was to know the governability in the implementation of school-based management in Elementary School 18 Pekanbaru. This study uses the theory Sutoro Eko with qualitative approach and descriptive methods. This research was conducted through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis technique is done by means of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion and triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the managerial capacity of the principal that the Management of the planning and evaluation of programs, curriculum, teaching and learning, workforce, equipment and supplies, finance, student services, relationship between the school and community and school climate have been going well, but the principal must increased its performance on manjemen workforce, equipment and supplies, school finance and school and community relationship management. While the political capacity, the principal has been able to gain political legitimacy to exercise its authority. The school principal has the capability responsive, regulatory and symbolic good.Keywords: Governability, School-Based Management

Riau LAM is a community organization that was present in the midst of the decline in the existence of Malay culture in Riau Province and became the only Malay community organization that was made a partner of the government. This research was conducted in Riau Province in 2018. This study aims to determine the capabilities of Riau LAM in realizing the vision of Riau 2020. The research method used is a qualitative method. The results showed that Riau LAM was unable to carry out planning so that it did not have goals, objectives, and strategies in running the organization. Compilation of organizational structures is not in accordance with existing rules, including the absence of written assignments. Placement of members of the organization is carried out with full interest, the absence of organizational development and oversight functions are ignored. Supporting factors for organizational performance are the possession of financial and physical resources derived from the Riau Provincial Government. The inhibiting factor of organizational performance is not qualified human resources, the lack of cooperation with the Riau Provincial Government, the attitude of the organization is not consistent in dealing with cultural dynamics, and the organization’s bad reputation for performance is not optimal. Thus, it was concluded that Riau LAM did not have the ability to support the government’s performance in realizing the vision of Riau 2020.

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peranan penting dalam perekonomian negara, baik dari sisi penciptaan lapangan kerja maupun dari sisi jumlah usaha. UMKM Cendawan House memiliki kendala dalam aktivitas usahanya berupa belum dimilikinya pembukuan yang baik, struktur, dan pembagian tugas sehingga berdampak pada tingkat produktivitas dan pemasaran produk yang dihasilkan. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut maka dilaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian dengan mitra pengabdian yakni UMKM Cendawan House yang berada di Kelurahan Tebing Tinggi Okura, Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir, Kota Pekanbaru, Provinsi Riau. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan yakni pemberdayaan melalui sosialisasi manajemen usaha untuk mengatasi masalah manajemen UMKM Cendawan House. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mitra memiliki pembukuan yang baik, struktur, dan pembagian tugas serta wewenang yang jelas yang kemudian juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan produksi dan pemesaran produk yang dihasilkan. Dari kegiatan ini disimpulkan bahwa permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dapat diselesaikan setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan ini.

Penyebaran Corona Virus Desease 2019 (Covid-19) di Indonesia saat ini sudah semakin meluas karena banyak nya masyarakat yang belum menyadari dan menerapkan aturan yang di tetapkan pemerintah di tengah berlakunya new normal life. Metode Pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah dengan metode sosialisasi mengunjungi warga dari rumah ke rumah dengan memberikan pemahaman singkat tentang tata kelola penanganan covid-19 dan tindakan preventif di era new normal dan di akhiri dengan pembagian masker, brosur dan stiker., Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya mengetahui gejala dan pencegahan di era new normal life saat ini. Jenis penilitian ini adalah kualitatif penelitian yang bermaksud memahami fenomena tentang apa yang dialami oleh subjek penelitian misalnya perilaku, persepsi, motivasi dalam bentuk kata-kata dan bahasa, pada suatu konteks khusus yang alamiah dan dengan memanfaatkan berbagai metode alamiah. Sampel penelitian ialah masyarakat dari kecamatan payung sekaki kelurahan Tirta Pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa saat melakukan sosialisasi masyarakat sangat antusias dalam kegiatan ini, mereka mendengar dan memahami dengan baik dari sosialisasi yang kami berikan. saat kami mengatakan memakai masker yang diberikan secara gratis mereka mengikuti arahan dari kami dengan baik dan benar. Mereka sangat antusias membaca brosur dari kami karna kami mendesain brosur dengan tema terang dan tidak menjadikan pembaca menjadi bosan saat membaca. dan juga kami memberikan dan menempel stiker di kawasan ibadah atau tempat perkumpulan lainnya agar tetap ingat jaga jarak min 1 m untuk melindungi diri

The Riau Malay Customary Institution is a community organization founded by Riau Malay community in response to the decline in the existence of Malay culture in Riau Province. This organization was founded in 1970 and is the only Malay community organization in Riau Province that was made a partner of the Riau Provincial Government in an effort to achieve the vision of Riau 2020 through the Riau Provincial Regulation No.1 of 2012 concerning the Riau Malay Customary Institution. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the capabilities of Riau Malay Customary Institutions in achieving the vision of Riau 2020. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The technique of collecting data uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the factors that influence the capabilities of the Riau Malay Customary Institution in supporting the government’s performance in achieving the vision of Riau Province 2020 are the possession of financial and physical resources, all of which are sourced from the Riau Provincial Government. This organization has human resources that have not been able to support organizational performance, the collaboration between the Provincial Government of Riau and the Riau Malay Customary Institution has not been clear which has a clear roadmap, bad reputation received by the organization because of poor performance, and inconsistent organizational attitudes towards achieving the purpose.

Writing is one thing that cannot be separated from the campus world. Whether it's writing papers, research reports, thesis and writing research articles. One of the problems experienced by writers (students) in writing scientific articles is plagiarism and reference/bibliography management. One of the software that is often used in reference management is Mendeley. This service activity is carried out considering that many students still do not know the operation of this software in reference management. The training was attended by hundreds of students and carried out in a hybrid way (online and offline). The results of this activity are that participants can understand Mendeley's function in making scientific papers. Besides that, participants have also been able to install and use Mendeley to find relevant reference sources, make reference sources in a quote, create a bibliography, and manage reference sources.

This study aims to analyze the autonomy policy of education in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research techniques. The results of this study indicate that the increase in the education budget allocation has not been able to increase the competitiveness of national education in the global arena. The implementation of educational autonomy through the establishment of various policies, including school-based management and the independent campus policy aims to give authority to educational institutions to provide flexibility in the management of education. Although the education autonomy policy has been able to increase the national education participation rate, this policy also raises new problems such as policy conflicts between the central government, regional governments, and educational institutions, inefficiency in education management, the occurrence of new corrupt practices, and education policies that tend to be top-down. The conclusion is that although it is in line with the demands of reform, education autonomy in Indonesia does not necessarily improve the quality of national education.

This study was motivated by the widespread coverage of the nomination for Mayor of Pekanbaru in 2024 by Riau's local media. This study's objective is to examine the alignments of GoRiau.com in shaping the reputation of political actors in the Pekanbaru Mayoral election for the years 2024 to 2029. This study employs the Fairclough model's text analysis, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice approaches. This research's fundamental technique is tapping, with the method of analyzing social change models. According to the results of this study, GoRiau.com is aligned with Agung Nugroho. In addition to being among the names that dominate the number of reports, he also benefits from the media's political narrative. Agung Nugroho's news history is dominated by political issues, and the content produced has generally resulted in favorable public opinion. Several conditions affect the neutrality of the mass media, including the Democratic Party's two-period political dominance in Pekanbaru City, Agung Nugroho's success in obtaining the most votes in Pekanbaru City during the 2019 Riau Legislative Election, and Agung Nugroho's strategic position as Deputy Chair of the Riau Legislative Institution, in addition to being the chairman of the Riau Democratic Party. This mass media alignment will benefit Agung Nugroho in the upcoming 2024 Pekanbaru mayoral election, as one of the largest media outlets in Riau. This study intends to discover the bias of Riau Pos in order to influence the actor's reputation in the nomination for Governor of Riau for 2024–2029. Through the lens of Faicrlough's text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice, partisanship in the construction of reputation in news in the mass media is analyzed. The research data was gathered using a literature review and the listening technique. Fairclough's paradigm of critical discourse analysis was used to analyze the research data utilizing a comparable methodology. This study demonstrates that local political actors, such as Syamsuar, Edy Natar Nasution, Syamsurizal, Alfedri, Muhammad Adil, Abdul Wahid, and Achmad, have been influenced by the news in the Riau Pos concerning the 2024 Riau Governor election. Syamsuar, who is the Governor of Riau as well as the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council Golkar Riau, appears to be a prominent figure in the published news. In addition to this, the media narrative has also contributed to Syamsuar's political image.
