Abstract

This research analyzes the violence experienced by Iqbal Ramadhan, an assistant lawyer, during a demonstration against the Revision of the Regional Election Law in Jakarta. The repressive actions by security forces against Iqbal, which included physical and psychological violence, showed a deviation from the principle of "Just and Civilized Humanity" in the second principle of Pancasila. In this research, the author examines the arrest process, the forms of violence experienced, as well as the physical and psychological impacts experienced by Iqbal. This case reflects the tension between the right to express an opinion and the authorities' efforts to maintain public order. This research highlights the importance of respecting human rights and peaceful and civilized conflict resolution, as mandated in Pancasila. The violence experienced by Iqbal Ramadhan not only violated human rights, but also violated the values ​​of humanity and justice contained in Pancasila. This incident demands an evaluation of the way the authorities handle demonstrations so that they are more based on human values ​​and justice.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to support efforts to create harmony cooperatively through intercultural dialogue in the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) student environment. Mixed methods, also known as maxmethod, combines quantitative and qualitative research methods in one study. This study examines the factors that influence the success of intercultural dialogue, the challenges faced, and effective strategies in facilitating intercultural interactions. The research results show that communicating with people of various accents can increase understanding and tolerance between different cultural groups, although there are still challenges in overcoming prejudice and stereotypes. This study suggests that intercultural dialogue is an important effort in transforming PPKn students into agents of change who are able to create a harmonious and inclusive society.

Abstract

The diversity of cultures, ethnicities, religions and traditions inherent in the life of the Indonesian nation makes multicultural education an urgent need, especially in higher education environments. This article discusses the implementation of multicultural education in building and increasing a sense of tolerance among students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program (PPKn). This research uses qualitative methods with interviews as the main instrument. Based on research results, multicultural education is implemented through three main approaches, namely integration of multicultural curriculum, strengthening cross-cultural activities, and optimizing the role of lecturers as diversity facilitators. This strategy has proven effective in building students' critical awareness of the importance of respecting differences. Interview results revealed that students felt more open to diversity after participating in cross-cultural activities and inclusive class discussions. However, challenges are still found in its implementation, such as the existence of stereotypes and a lack of in-depth understanding of the multicultural concept. This article concludes that multicultural education is not only important for creating tolerance in the campus environment, but is also an important provision for PPKn students as prospective educators and agents of social change. The recommendations given include strengthening training for lecturers, developing modules based on real experience, and increasing the frequency of cross-cultural programs.

Abstract

Title in English. This journal discusses the factors that led to the emergence of the empty column movement in the implementation of the Pasaman Regency Pilkada in 2020. The purpose of this research is to describe the reasons behind the emergence of the empty column movement. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a case study method. This research is analyzed using the concept of mobilization according to Stefano B. The results showed that there were main factors and supporting factors that led to the emergence of the empty column movement in the 2020 Pasaman Regency Pilkada. The main factor that triggered the birth of the empty column movement was the dynamics of the Pilkada which was considered unique and interesting, which then resulted in a single candidate in the Pilkada. This situation has led to a deep sense of disappointment in some Pasaman people who want change, especially related to the leadership in Pasaman Regency, which has been dominated by the incumbent. Through the empty column movement, the people of Pasaman explicitly expressed their desire to have a new, more competent leader.

Abstract

The development of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) is triggered by the need for equitable development in Indonesia and is planned to be a special area as the center of government and green innovation. IKN is located between Kutai Kertanegara Regency and Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. This study aims to analyze the impact of IKN (Capital City of the Archipelago) development on the surrounding economy, social and environment. This study uses a literature study method with journal data related to the topic of discussion, published, and selected in the period starting from 2018 to 2023. The stages of the literature study carried out, namely listing the study variables, determining the source of information, selecting the description of the required materials, conducting a keyword search. The results of the literature study are used as reference material so as to provide an overview of the positive impacts and negative impacts of the IKN development, both those that have occurred and are still a potential that can occur. Based on the literature study, the relocation of IKN has both positive and negative impacts on several aspects: 1) Economic aspects, namely the potential for economic growth (positive) and the potential for additional inflation (negative), 2) social aspects, namely acculturation (positive) and inculturation (negative), and 3) the environment, namely the loss of natural habitat. Any potential negative impacts from the relocation of IKN can be prevented by finalizing the most effective planning and new solutions.

Abstract

The 1998 reformation became a starting point in the history of Indonesian democracy, the pattern of the relationship between the state and citizens also changed to become more democratic, the government system that was originally dictatorial was slightly more democratic. This journal aims to analyze the development of Indonesian democracy after the reformation, focusing on the scope of the relationship between the state and citizens from a legal perspective. It examines how the state fulfills its democratic obligations to its citizens, as well as how citizens exercise their democratic rights, including voting rights, freedom of expression, and the right to participate in political decisionmaking. In addition, it explores the progress and challenges facing Indonesia's post-reform democracy, such as the emergence of new issues in the implementation of democratic rights and the often hindered enforcement of the law. By analyzing relevant legal and statistical data, it also discusses the important role of law in maintaining a balance between the state's right to govern and the individual rights of citizens to participate freely. This journal is expected to provide insight into the extent to which the implementation of democratic principles in Indonesia is in line with the development of law and the fulfillment of human rights, and provide recommendations for the improvement of Indonesian democracy in the future.

Abstract

Disorderly parking behavior among motorcycle-riding students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) remains a persistent issue that disrupts campus order and affects other road users. This study explores the reasons behind students’ tendency to park improperly, including laziness to walk upstairs, limited lift availability, the urge to reach class quickly, and inadequate parking facilities and security. The research aims to analyze these behaviors from the perspective of students themselves in order to formulate more effective and student-centered parking management strategies. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through field observations and student surveys. The findings indicate that many students consciously choose convenience over rules due to poorly designed parking structures and minimal supervision. As a result, this study recommends improving the parking environment by adding higher-capacity lifts, increasing surveillance on upper parking levels, and enhancing overall parking comfort and order. These improvements are expected to foster a more responsible parking culture among students.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural archipelagic country, has a big challenge in maintaining the integrity of the nation's unity. Ethnic, cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity is a wealth and a potential for conflict if not managed properly. This article aims to examine how national integration can strengthen the integrity of the Indonesian nation as well as the factors that affect the success of the process. Through the literature review method, this article analyzes the concepts, theories, and determinants of national integration. The results of the study show that national integration plays an important role in strengthening national identity, minimizing social conflicts, and maintaining political stability. Therefore, synergy between elements of the nation is the key to strengthening unity in globalization and global challenges.

Abstract

In the learning process in the classroom is expected to be student-centered, which requires the right learning model for optimal learning outcomes, the right learning model is a student-centered learning model, this study applies the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in the learning process in class XIII SMP Negeri 2 Pagelaran, this study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on student learning outcomes in learning Pancasila Education class XIII SMP Negeri 2 Pagelaran. The research method used is quasi experiment with pre-experimental design method design type one group pretest-posttest, the instrument in this study is a multiple choice test question containing 30 questions, The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test through SPSS 26. The results of the analysis showed that the value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <0.05, which means There is a significant difference between the experimental group using the PBL learning model and the control group using conventional methods. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model has a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes. This finding indicates that choosing the right learning model, such as PBL, plays a significant role in improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, teachers need to consider each learning model with the material and student characteristics to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
