Abstract

Students are citizens who have an obligation to defend the country. Students are not only tasked as someone who seeks academic knowledge, but also students have an active role in advancing the country. This paper aims to examine the implementation of the values of state defense and the active role of students in strengthening national resilience in the digital era and globalization, using the civic communication approach as a conceptual framework. Through the literature study method, this research shows that students have a strategic role in maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia through digital innovation, information literacy, strengthening cultural identity and participation in digital socio-political movements. In addition, the civic communication approach is proven to be able to shape students' national character and increase collective awareness in defending the country actively and intelligently. The results of this study confirm that strengthening the role of students as actors of national resilience must be carried out systematically and sustainably through synergy between educational institutions, government and society.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of increasing the political awareness of Generation Z women in the digital era, especially in Compreng Village, which still faces limited formal political education. The research problem formulation includes: (1) how is political education implemented for women in the Z community, (2) factors that influence political awareness, and (3) the role of technology and social media in increasing political participation. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of political education, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine the contribution of digital media to the political awareness of Generation Z women. The research uses the theory of implementation, political education, and Branson's (1998) concept of civic education. The approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with female Gen Z respondents, village officials, and community leaders. The results show that the implementation of political education mostly takes place non-formally and informally through community forums and digital media. Factors that influence political awareness include education, family environment, community leaders, and access to social media. Digital media has proven to be a primary means of expanding young women's political participation. In conclusion, political education in Compreng Village is still partial, but has great potential to develop if managed in an integrated manner by the village government, educational institutions, communities and the public.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) has an impact on individuals’ attitudes and behaviors. Research by McKee et al. (2024) showed that FoMO can reduce moral awareness, thereby changing social responsibility behavior, such as neglecting obligations. This condition becomes a particular concern when experienced by adolescents. Based on observations at SMA PGRI 1 Subang, the researcher found several cases reflecting moral degradation in the form of declining responsibility, such as being late to school, failing to complete assignments given by teachers, using mobile phones in class when not needed, littering, lack of initiative both inside and outside the classroom, and low learning motivation. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of FoMO on the decline of adolescent responsibility at SMA PGRI 1 Subang in the perspective of Civic Education. The theoretical foundation used in this research is Przybylski’s theory (2013) of FoMO and the concept of responsibility in Civic Education, which emphasizes aspects of discipline, initiative, and diligence. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 63 eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Subang selected using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that the FoMO variable had a significant effect on adolescent responsibility, with the regression equation Y = 2.617 + 0.389X and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. This finding indicates that the higher the level of FoMO, the lower the responsibility possessed by adolescents. In conclusion, FoMO contributes significantly to the decline of adolescent responsibility, while Civic Education plays an important role in instilling responsibility, digital literacy, and self-control so that adolescents are able to face the challenges of the social media era.

Abstract

The implementation of fiscal decentralization since 2001 has become a pivotal milestone in transforming Indonesia’s governance system and public financial management. The delegation of fiscal authority to local governments is expected to enhance regional financial independence while strengthening transparency and accountability in budget administration. This study aims to analyze the relationship between democracy and public financial governance in the era of fiscal decentralization, as well as to assess the application of transparency, accountability, and public participation at the regional level. Using a qualitative approach through a literature review method, this research draws on secondary sources including scholarly publications, government documents, and recent academic studies. The findings indicate that fiscal decentralization has the potential to reinforce democratic fiscal practices, although its implementation is still limited by bureaucratic capacity constraints, the influence of local political elites, and weak public oversight mechanisms. Conversely, the adoption of digital technologies in financial governance has enhanced efficiency, transparency, and accountability, despite requiring stronger human resource capacity and consistent political commitment. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of national values on Indonesia's economic growth. The research is based on the importance of social values and national identity in maintaining social cohesion and strengthening economic resilience. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review with the PRISMA 2020 approach, reviewing 25 relevant scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025 from various databases. Thematic analysis was employed to identify the relationship between national values, social capital, economic nationalism, character education, and public policy on economic growth dynamics. The findings reveal that national values significantly act as social capital supporting socio-political stability, enhancing productive work ethics, and promoting economic independence through nationalism policies and inclusive economic movements such as gotong royong. These results confirm that strengthening national values is not only a moral aspect but also a strategic factor in Indonesia's sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This study examines the concepts of rights and obligations of citizens from a Qur’anic perspective. The Qur’an presents a comprehensive and balanced framework in which rights and obligations are closely interconnected and cannot be separated. Every individual is granted fundamental rights, including the right to life, justice, equality, and human dignity. At the same time, individuals are required to fulfill their obligations, such as maintaining moral integrity, promoting social harmony, and showing responsibility toward others. The principle of justice (‘adl) plays a central role in regulating this relationship, ensuring fairness and preventing oppression. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing relevant Qur’anic verses and interpretations. The findings reveal that the Qur’an emphasizes balance, proportionality, and accountability in human interactions and social relations today. Furthermore, it highlights that rights must be exercised responsibly and obligations fulfilled sincerely to achieve a just and harmonious society for all members of society.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Al-Qur'an values into civic education as a strategic effort to strengthen students’ moral character and civic responsibility. Civic education serves as a fundamental component in developing citizens who not only understand their rights and obligations but also demonstrate ethical awareness and social sensitivity. The incorporation of values derived from the Al-Qur'an, such as justice, trustworthiness, tolerance, and cooperation, contributes to a more holistic and value-based learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis to identify effective methods for embedding these values into teaching materials, instructional strategies, and classroom practices. The findings reveal that such integration enhances students’ comprehension of civic concepts while simultaneously fostering spiritual and moral development. Moreover, it promotes the formation of responsible, ethical, and socially engaged citizens within a diverse society. Therefore, integrating religious values into civic education is essential for achieving a balanced educational framework that supports both intellectual growth and character development.

Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly changed the political communication patterns of society, especially for Generation Z, who grew up in an internet- and social media-based environment. This generation is a strategic group in the democratic process because they have broad access to political information and the ability to build public opinion through digital platforms. Ahead of the 2029 General Election, the political participation of Generation Z, especially students, has increased, marked by active involvement in political discussions, digital campaigns, voter education, and digital literacy movements. However, the high intensity of social media use also poses challenges in the form of social polarization, hate speech, echo chambers, and the spread of political hoaxes that have the potential to disrupt democratic stability. This study aims to analyze the role of Generation Z in maintaining the quality of democracy and overseeing the implementation of the 2029 General Election by increasing critical and responsible political participation. The study used a qualitative approach with a literature study method of various scientific journals, academic articles, and official documents relevant to the themes of digital democracy, political participation, and digital literacy. The results show that students as part of Generation Z have an important role as agents of change, social controllers, disseminators of credible information, and pioneers of digital literacy in dealing with political hoaxes. Nevertheless, the low ability to verify information and the high level of exposure to disinformation remain major challenges that must be addressed through strengthening digital literacy education and media ethics. This research is expected to contribute to strengthening the quality of Indonesian democracy to be healthier, more participatory, and inclusive in the digital era.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Social ethics is a fundamental aspect of human life that regulates how individuals relate to each other within a society. In the Indonesian context, two primary value systems serve as the normative foundation for social life: Pancasila as the national ideology and Islam as the religion of the majority population. Pancasila, through its five principles, offers a comprehensive ethical framework encompassing divinity, humanity, unity, deliberation, and social justice. Islam, through the teachings of the al-Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, provides a rich system of social ethics centered on noble character (akhlak), brotherhood (ukhuwwah), cooperation (ta'awun), justice (al-'adl), and universal compassion. This study examines the concept of social ethics from the perspectives of both Pancasila and Islam and analyzes the points of convergence between the two systems. Using a qualitative approach with library research methods and content analysis techniques, this study finds that Pancasila and Islamic social ethics share deeply aligned core values, including upholding human dignity, promoting justice and social solidarity, valuing tolerance and pluralism, and emphasizing the importance of deliberation in communal decision-making. The integration of Pancasila and Islamic values in social ethics is not only theoretically possible but also practically necessary to build a harmonious, just, and civilized Indonesian society in the face of contemporary social challenges. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of social ethics education rooted in the nation's cultural and religious values. Abstract

ABSTRACTGlobalization and the rapid development of social media present serious challenges to Generation Znationalism in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the role of the Wawasan Nusantara as afoundation for maintaining and strengthening a sense of nationalism among Generation Z amid thedominance of social media and the tide of globalization. The method used is a systematic literaturereview with a descriptive qualitative approach, conducted through searches in Google Scholar, SINTA,Portal Garuda, and DOAJ databases covering publications from 2017 to 2025. The study’s findingsindicate that globalization and social media have both positive and negative impacts on Generation Z.On one hand, these developments open opportunities for young people to express digital nationalismthrough patriotic content and social campaigns. However, on the other hand, the unfiltered influx offoreign culture also has the potential to erode the national identity of the younger generation. WawasanNusantara has proven relevant as a national perspective capable of serving as both a filter and a guidefor Generation Z in facing these challenges. Strengthening nationalism can be achieved throughinnovation in civic education, the wise use of social media, the preservation of local culture, andparental supervision of digital media use. This study emphasizes that the values of Wawasan Nusantaramust not only be understood conceptually but also internalized in the daily lives of Generation Z.Keywords: Wawasan Nusantara, Nationalism, Generation Z, Globalization, Social Media.
