Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era has encouraged organizations to transform towards data-driven and integrated decision-making systems. This study aims to comprehensively examine the role of data warehouses, software, operating systems, and programmers in the context of Executive Support Systems (ESS) as part of a computer-based information system (CBI). The method used is a systematic literature review of 15 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025, obtained from scientific databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and indexed national journals. The analysis was conducted using a thematic synthesis approach to examine the contribution of each component to the effectiveness of ESS in supporting business decisions. The results of the study indicate that data warehouses play a central role in providing historical and integrated data as the basis for business intelligence and predictive analysis. Software and operating systems have been shown to determine the speed, security, and interoperability of the system, while programmers are a key factor in ensuring the sustainability of system development and adaptation to organizational needs. The integration of these four components results in an executive information system capable of improving operational efficiency, decision accuracy, and company competitiveness. Thus, this study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of more adaptive, intelligent, and sustainable computer-based information system models for the modern business world.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has increased social media usage among university students, but has also been accompanied by an increase in the threat of hackers and cybercrime. Low awareness of account security has led to many users becoming victims of hacking and personal data theft, particularly on the Instagram platform. This study aims to analyze cybercrime threats in Indonesia and the importance of understanding social media account security for university students. The method used was qualitative descriptive analysis through a review of recent literature. The results indicate that the main factor contributing to user vulnerability lies in a lack of digital literacy and understanding of basic security practices, such as the use of strong passwords and dual authentication. Therefore, increased cybersecurity education on campus is needed to make students more vigilant, responsible, and capable of protecting their personal data in the digital world.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has made the online exchange of personal data increasingly widespread, but on the other hand, it increases the risk of information leaks and misuse. Cases of personal data breaches in Indonesia demonstrate that weak security systems remain a potential avenue for cybercrime. One key solution to address this problem is the implementation of cryptographic systems. This study aims to analyze the role of cryptographic systems in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of personal data as a foundation for information security in the digital era. The research method used is descriptive analysis, using a literature review approach of various scientific sources from 2021–2025. The results show that the application of cryptographic algorithms such as AES, RSA, and hybrid cryptography systems has proven effective in protecting data from unauthorized access and manipulation. Furthermore, the integration of cryptography with artificial intelligence and post-quantum cryptography technologies is a crucial innovation for strengthening information security systems in the future. This study concludes that cryptography is a fundamental element in personal data protection and is key to building a robust, efficient, and sustainable information security system amidst the increasing threat of global cybercrime.

Abstract

The development of information technology has opened up opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses, including culinary businesses such as online cake shops, to improve the quality of service to customers. One innovation that can be utilized is the application of artificial intelligence-based chatbots to assist in the process of interacting with customers. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of chatbot implementation in improving customer service in e-commerce cake businesses, particularly in terms of response speed to product inquiries, ease of ordering, and customer satisfaction levels. The research methods used are qualitative and quantitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews with cake shop owners, and distribution of questionnaires to customers. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive methods and statistical tests to measure customer satisfaction levels before and after the implementation of chatbots. The results showed that the implementation of chatbots could improve service efficiency with an average response time of 5 seconds for questions about cake menus, prices, stock availability, and how to order, compared to 20-30 minutes for manual services. Customer satisfaction levels increased by 38%, and the chatbot was able to handle routine questions such as product catalogs, flavor variants, prices, and delivery time estimates with 82% accuracy. This allows shop owners to focus on cake production and handling custom orders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of social media as an e-business strategy to increase sales at Kopi Kenangan. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with a staff member at the Kopi Kenangan outlet on Jalan Pancing, Medan, as well as several active consumers as primary data sources. The findings indicate that social media functions mainly as a tool for information dissemination and branding rather than a primary driver of sales. The uploaded content tends to be informative and lacks interactivity, resulting in weak consumer engagement. Consumers more frequently learn about promotions through in-store banners or the application, while purchase decisions are influenced by personal needs, strategic store location, and direct in-store experience. This study recommends optimizing interactive content, visual storytelling, and digital collaborations to enhance the effectiveness of e-business strategies.

Abstract

The cross product is an operation with geometric characteristics. This study aims to analyze the orthogonality of the cross product of two vectors and its relationship to the original plane. Based on the basic principles of vectors, the cross product of two vectors a and b produces a new vector perpendicular to the plane formed by the two original vectors. This resulting vector is determined by the equation |a × b| = |a| |b| sin⁡θ. The method used is a literature study. The results of the discussion indicate that the perpendicularity property is crucial to the direction and magnitude of the cross product.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and optimize the production of menu packages at D’Roasting Jamaksari Restaurant using Linear Programming (LP) with the simplex method. The main problem faced by the restaurant is the limitation of production resources, particularly raw materials such as chicken, rice, and spices, which requires efficient production planning to maximize profit. This research employs a quantitative approach with a case study method. Primary data were obtained through direct observation and interviews with the management of D’Roasting, while secondary data were collected from internal documents and relevant scientific literature. The Linear Programming model consists of three decision variables: the daily production quantity of Nasi Putih Ayam (X₁), Nasi Kabsah Ayam (X₂), and the whole chicken package (X₃). The objective function is to maximize total profit, expressed as Z = 3,150X₁ + 4,050X₂ + 8,850X₃, subject to constraints on the availability of rice, chicken, and spices. The model was solved manually using the simplex method. The results indicate that the optimal production combination consists of 30 portions of Nasi Putih Ayam, 70 portions of Nasi Kabsah Ayam, and 30 whole chicken packages, generating a maximum daily profit of Rp643,500. This optimal solution satisfies all existing resource constraints. The implementation of Linear Programming proves effective in improving resource utilization efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting data-driven production decision-making. Therefore, this method can serve as a strategic tool to enhance operational efficiency and profitability at D’Roasting Jamaksari.

Abstract

The implementation of a Web-Based Library Information System at the Rantauprapat Public Library aims to increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing library resources. This information system integrates various library functions, such as book cataloging, borrowing, returns, and member management, into a single web-based platform. By using web-based technology, libraries can make access easier for visitors to search for information and borrow online, without being limited by time and place. This research identifies the system's technical and functional requirements and evaluates its impact on library services and visitor satisfaction. The results of implementing this system show an increase in data accuracy, a reduction in service times, and a reduction in administrative errors. Apart from that, this system also makes it easy for visitors to access library information more efficiently. It is hoped that the implementation of this web-based library information system can become a model for other libraries in an effort to improve the quality of library information services in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of motivation and location on business success at Toko Akse, Medan. Results indicate that both motivation and location significantly influence success, both individually and simultaneously. Strategic positioning and strong internal drive are essential for competitive advantage in the urban market. Future researchers are encouraged to explore additional variables to enhance understanding of entrepreneurial growth.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of tax planning, deferred tax burden and Tax Avoidance with leverage as a moderating variable. The population used in this research is manufacturing companies with a sample of food and beverage sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) 2019 - 2023. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and 20 food and beverage sub-sector companies were obtained as observations. as many as 100 observations. The analysis method used is moderated regression. Based on partial test results, tax planning and Tax Avoidance have no effect on earnings management. The deferred tax expense variable has a significant effect on earnings management. . Meanwhile, with the moderating variable, the partial test results show that tax planning, deferred tax burden, and Tax Avoidance do not have a significant effect on earnings management with leverage as a moderating variable found in food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019 - 2023.
