Abstract

Nowadays, business competition is getting more stringent, therefore a competitive strategy is needed that companies must have to survive in this business competition, especially banks in an effort to increase the number of customers. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze the effect of brand image and quality service on saving decisions with competitive advantage as an intervening variable at Bank DKI Mayor Branch, East Jakarta. The population in this research is customers who open accounts at Bank DKI Mayor Branch, East Jakarta. The data collection method uses a survey method by filling out a questionnaire. Data analysis using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) software application with the AMOS program. The results of this research obtained the following results: (1) brand image has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions; (2) brand image has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage; (3) service quality has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions; (4) service quality has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage; and (5) purchasing decisions have a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage.

Abstract

The main problem for private universities in Indonesia is the ability to finance the institution's  operations independently and the main source of income for financing is still sourced from tuition fees paid by students. For waqf-based private universities, another problem is that assets cannot be used as collateral to obtain funding assistance from financial institutions. This situation causes waqf-based private universities to strive to manage finances properly for there is no waste and fraud. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of transformational leadership, organizational commitment and competence of financial human resources through a balanced budget policy on the effectiveness of waqf-based private university financial management. The research method used was explanatory, and the data were collected using a questionnaire given by waqf-based private university financial leaders and staff, then analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results of the research shows that balanced budget policies mediate transformational leadership, organizational commitment, financial HR competence have a positive influence on Financial Management Effectiveness as illustrated by t-statistic value (4.021) > 1.66 with a p-value (0.000) <0.05. Waqf-based private universities can increase the effectiveness of financial management through a balanced budget policy model in accordance with the characteristics of the institution supported by proper leadership, organizational commitment and competence of financial human resources which are continuously improved.

Abstract

The effectiveness in improving academic quality in universities is determined by good and practical management. Universities must have a quality management strategy to provide high-quality education. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the activities that occur at the Universitas Indonesia in improving the quality of its management that facilitates students’ both academic and non-academic activities. This research is a descriptive qualitative approach that focus to observe and analyze existing strategies at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. This research also provides the recommendations for alternative strategies to achieve a competitive advantage. This research is using data analysis from interviews and formulating business strategies through 3 steps. The result of this research is in Medicine faculty of Universitas Indonesia already has a good corporate branding as an opportunity to increase promotion; develop more aggressive advertising; adjusting the market share for growing; and become more loyal in the term of  service and quality of the Medicine faculty of Universitas Indonesia.

Abstract

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is the responsibility of a company for the impact of their decisions and activities on society and the environment through open and ethical behavior. The existence of companies in the midst of society contributes to the national problem of unemployment. The implementation of CSR in Indonesia is still not transparent whether it is voluntary or mandatory. However, this research does not only discuss the Indonesian side, but globally in several countries from 2007-2023. Therefore, this research aims to find out the implementation of mandatory or voluntary CSR in Indonesia and some countries. The method used is systematic literature review. The result of this research is voluntary CSR is still commonly used in various countries, including developing countries, even though some countries have regulated mandatory CSR by law. However, voluntary CSR is still practiced because the law is not enough for companies to implement mandatory CSR. Companies will be more stable if they implement mandatory and voluntary CSR in a balanced way in order to consider the interests of stakeholders, the company, the environment and society.

Abstract

Talent management and employee management is one of the crucial factor in the company since they are determine the success and company balance in the future. In addition, the employee who have high motivation in doing his wirk is increasing his job satisfaction in the company itself. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of talent management and employee engagement on job satisfaction and individual performance, both partially and simultaneously. The population consists of employees working in mineral and coal industry at PT ABC, and the survey was conducted the LinkedIn platform. The data collection was using non-probability sampling methods, specifically convenience sampling through the questionnaire. The data analysis was using multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis. The results of this research indicate that talent management and employee engagement, both partially and simultaneously, have a significant influence on job satisfaction. Furthermore, talent management and employee engagement, both partially and simultaneously, affect individual performance among employees in the mineral and coal industry.

Abstract

The insurance company is one of the pillars in supporting economic growth. In Indonesia, insurance companies are required to report their solvency ratio to the government on a regular basis. Therefore, the objective of this research is to assess the effect of retention, investment assets, leverage, technical reserves and maturity mismatch on Risk Based Capital (RBC) and financial performance of insurance companies in Indonesia. This research is a quantitative approach using panel data regression method. The population of this research is companies in the insurance industrial sector in 2014-2018. The sample used in this research was 91 insurance companies. This research used secondary data obtained from financial reports published in print media and company websites during 2014-2018. The results of this research indicate that retention and investment assets have a positive effect on risk-based capital (RBC) and the financial performance of insurance companies. While leverage has no effect on risk-based capital (RBC) or financial performance of insurance companies. On the other hand, the technical reserve variable only affects the financial performance of insurance companies but has no effect on the company’s risk-based capital. In addition, the maturity mismatch variable indicates a negative effect on risk-based capital but has no effect on the financial performance of insurance companies. Meanwhile, risk-based capital affects the financial performance of insurance in Indonesia.

Abstract

Managing human resources well is important for an organisation to be able to compete with other more advanced organisations, however, in managing human resources is different from other sources, it requires an effort to establish a harmonious relationship between workers and the organisation. Therefore, the research aims to determine and examine the variables of leadership style, motivation and work discipline that have a simultaneous, partial, and dominant effect on employee performance at PT Mega Daya Motor Surabaya (Mazda, East Java branch). The approach used is a quantitative approach. The data collection used was interviews, questionnaires, and observation. In addition, the sampling technique in this research used probability sampling technique with 60 respondents, employees of PT Mega Daya Motor Surabaya. The results of testing the model simultaneously obtained the value of F count 30.909> F table 2.77. Moreover, the resulting significant value is 0.000 which is < α = 5% = 0.05, so it can be concluded Leadership Style (X1), Motivation (X2) and Work Discipline (X3) simultaneously have a significant effect on Employee Performance (Y) PT Mega Daya Motor Surabaya (Mazda, East Java Branch).

Abstract

The application of mobile payment has not been spread to all Indonesians. However, there are many companies that have started to release and develop their own versions of mobile payment systems. Mobile payment systems, which are innovative forms of financial processing, connect customers and vendors online to complete transactions. The implication of mindfulness has been implicated in many mobile business intelligence technologies. Therefore, this research aims to determine the implications of mindfulness on mobile payment; to analyze hypotheses regarding the performance of mindfulness in affecting perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norms, and attitudes. SEM applies with statistical methods in representing data and applies many models in achieving research objectives and resolving research problems. There were 251 data that represented active users who had experience in using mobile payments. The results of this research indicate that mindfulness has good exploratory strength in predicting consumer intention to adopt mobile payment, and it is proven that has a positive and significant impact on its four dimensions such as perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, and attitudes, which directly affect the intention to use.

Abstract

Human resources have a crucial role. The existence of human resources has great potential in conducting company activities and their abilities can be maximised. Human resource management at PT Laut Timur Utama, Aru Islands always strives to improve employee performance in order to create efficient company productivity in the production process so as to reduce production costs and produce products at a low cost and affordable in the market. Many factors can affect the employee performance in the company, such as compensation, job satisfaction and motivation factors. Therefore, this research is conducted to determine the effect of compensation, job satisfaction and motivation on the employee performance at PT Laut Timur Utama, Aru Islands whether partial or simultaneous. The approach used in this research is quantitative with 40 respondents. In addition, the analysis model used is Multiple Linear Regression to determine the effect of independent variable on the dependent variable. Based on the results of the research, it indicates that compensation, job satisfaction and motivation have a significant effect both partially and simultaneously on employee performance of PT Laut Timur Utama, Aru Islands.

Abstract

Specialised financial institutions consisting of several institutions or companies established to fulfil specific tasks and functions, usually related to support government programmes for the community’s welfare. One of specialised financial institution is PT Permodalan Nasional Madani Semarang. It is a state-owned financial institution established as a commitment by the government to develop, promote and maintain MSMEs and Co-operatives. Therefore, this research aims to find out the effective method to overcome communication problems among customers due to the distinctiveness of Mekaar customers. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach which uses purposive sampling techniques combined with deductive data analysis. The results indicate that intents communication with customers regarding financing at Meekar co-operative is conducted to prevent defaults by customers in the future. In addition, assistance to customers must also be provided so that PT PNM policies can be implemented properly and customers are able to conduct non-cash transactions to reduce the risk of loss and so on.
