Abstract

Based on the results of observations of the daily test scores of class XII Science 1 MAN 1 Mojokerto City on the three dimensional material as much as 5 students the grades have met the KKM (Minimum completeness criteria) while the other 25 students have not met the KKM, with an average grade of 58 and learning outcomes classical reached 16.67%. The low student learning outcomes because students do not understand how to visualize the shape of the three dimensions and the understanding of the concept of distance in the third dimension that is lacking. Monotonous student learning activities make students tend to talk alone when the teacher explains the material. The application of Cabri 3D V2 software will help students visualize three-dimensional shapes and understand the material easily. This study aims to describe the increase in student activity and learning outcomes in participating in learning using Cabri 3D V2 software. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using two cycles. One cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection methods used are observation and test methods. Instrument validation is carried out by expert validates. The research subjects were students of class XII Science 1 MAN 1 Mojokerto, which consisted of 30 students. Based on the results of research in cycles I and II seen an increase in student activity in cycle I by 63% with criteria C (Enough) in cycle II to 85% with criteria B (Good). Mastery learning outcomes of students in cycle I was 47% with an average of 71.97 and cycle II was 89% with an average of 89.96. In cycle II has reached the criteria of success, namely student activity and learning outcomes have reached = 76% classically then by applying Cabri 3D V2 software can increase student activity and learning outcomes

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited mathematics learning tools that are in accordance with the 2013 curriculum. The aim of this research is to produce learning tools in the form of a syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student activity sheets (LAS) using discovery learning models in the material of class VII quarters and triangles. SMP / MTs. The development model used in this study is the 4-D model which consists of four stages of development, namely defining, designing, developing, and distributing. Data collection using practical instruments. The learning tools that have been developed are validated by three expert validators. The findings of the study revealed that the results of the syllabus validation analysis were 3.79 or very valid categories, RPP were 3,87 or very valid categories and LAS were 3.82 or very valid categories. The results of this validation analysis indicate that the syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS are considered valid. Furthermore, the results of the practicality trial in the small group for LAS were 3.50 or very practical category. The conclusion of this study is that the mathematics learning tools developed using the discovery learning model in the material of Quadrilateral and Triangles of class VII SMP / MTs which include syllabus, lesson plans and LAS are valid and feasible to use.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the independence of student learning in calculus courses conducted online based on gender. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in this study were 34 biology education students. There are 4 male students and 30 female students. Methods of data collection using a scale of learning independence. The results showed that there were significant differences in the learning independence of male and female students. Female students outperform male students for all indicators of independent learning. The percentage of the average score of male students 'learning independence was 59.37, while the percentage of the average score of female students' learning independence reached 66.54. Keywords :

Abstract

This research aims to know how the reasoning of mathematics education students in terms of gender. This research is exploratory research with a qualitative approach. This research has chosen a qualitative approach because the primary data used were written or spoken in the form of words. The subject of this research is a student of mathematics education. The main instrument is the researchers themselves, while the auxiliary instruments used are a reasoning test, an interview guide, and a recording tool. The results of the analysis and discussion that have been conducted showed that the male students could identify facts or information orally (understand what is known and what is asked in a question), able to correctly relate facts or information with concepts of knowledge (definition or theorem), so they can determine conclusions based on ideas and the relationship correctly. Female students can correctly identify facts or information orally and in writing instruction (understand what is known and what is asked in a question) and are unable to correctly relate facts or information to the concept of knowledge (definition or theorem) conclusions are drawn are wrong.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the teacher existence for the availability of mathematics learning instruments to support the learning process in the classroom according to the 2013 Curriculum. This research aims to produce a mathematical learning instruments based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to facilitate the mathematical problem solving ability of seventh grade students of junior high school valid and practical on counting operation of algebra form topic. The development model used in this study is the 4-D model which consists of four stages of development, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Learning tools that have been developed are validated by three validators and revised according to the suggestions of the validator. The average result of syllabus validation analysis is 3,89 by category very valid, RPP 3,83 by category very valid, and LAS 3,79 by category very valid. The results of this validation analysis indicate that the syllabus and RPP is worth to using. LAS that has been valid then tested in small groups with test subjects of 6 grade VII students of SMP Negeri 25 Pekanbaru. The average result of the small group trial data analysis was 3,30 and categorized as very practical. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the learning instruments developed can facilitate students to develop their mathematical problem solving skills and are suitable for use as a learning resource for students in learning. Abstract

This research aimed at describing the kinds of student Newman’s error in solving problems based on mathematical critical thinking ability of cognitive style and habits of mind. This research was descriptive qualitative research using a case study design. The subjects of this research were 28 students of IX.2 grade at state junior high school 1 Pujud. Test, questionnaire, and interview techniques were used for collecting the data. The instruments used in this research were tests for mathematical critical thinking ability on quadratic functions material, GEFT, questionnaire for habits of mind, and interview. The data were analyzed by using reduction, presentation, conclusion, and verification. The findings of this research showed that 1) the students with FD and FI cognitive styles made errors in processing skills and writing the final answer. 2) The high HoM students made errors in processing skills and writing the final answer. The medium HoM students made errors in processing skills and writing the final answer. The low HoM students made errors in writing the final answers. 3) The high and low HoM of field independent students made errors in writing the final answer, The medium HoM of field independent students made errors in processing skill and writing the final answer, the high and medium HoM of field independent students made errors in processing skill and the low HoM of field independent students made errors in writing the final answer.

Abstract

This research aimed at investigating whether there was or not a difference on mathematical communication ability between students taught by using Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model and those who were taught by using conventional learning; knowing whether there was or not a difference on mathematical communication ability among students having high, medium, and low prior knowledge in mathematics; and seeing whether there was or not an interaction between students’ prior knowledge in mathematics and SSCS learning model toward their mathematical communication ability. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tambang for the 2019/2020 academic year. The sample in this study was class VII.1 as the experimental class and class VII.3 as the control class which was selected using simple random sampling. The data were collected using a test technique in the form of a test instrument for mathematical communication skills and PAM test questions. Analysis of the data used for hypotheses 1, 2 and 3 using a two-way ANOVA test. The results of data analysis show that there are differences in mathematical communication skills between students who follow the SSCS learning model and students who follow conventional learning, there are differences in mathematical communication skills between students who have high, medium and low PAM, and there is no interaction of PAM factors on mathematical communication skills. students at SMP Negeri 3 Tambang.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease-2019 (Covid-19) as a pandemic has consequences in various fields such as health, social, political, economic, and educational. The government's recommendation in the context of preventing Covid-19 has led to various new regulations, especially in the education sector. One of the policies from circular letter number 4 of 2020 by the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the Implementation of Education Policies in the Emergency Period for the Spread of Covid-19 is to explain that the learning process is carried out at home via online/remotely. In conditions of online learning (on a network/online) during the covid-19 pandemic, an educator needs more appropriate learning media so that students can learn optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the evaluation of student learning by using appropriate mathematics learning media in the form of learning videos either made by the teacher or via a youtube link. The type of this research used qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII and VIIH MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques included: observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the result of the research that had been done, it can be concluded that learning without using the right media appeared that students' understanding of the material was still lack. It can be seen from the responses of students in the classroom based on the result of the researcher observations during the study.

Abstract

This research aims to know the students' mistakes on MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru in solving questions relations and functions materials. This research was conduted in MTs Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru in the odd semester of Academic Year 2020/2021. This research uses a descriptive method with research form is a case study. Subjects in the study were four students. The analysis was made with the interview and discussion. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that’s is types of student errors are in facts, concepts, and procedures.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes by applying problem-solving strategies through problem-based learning. The subjects of this study were students of class XII IPA 6 SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, totaling 38 students with academic ability levels heterogeneous. This study consisted of two cycles consisting of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through observations of teacher and students activities and learning outcomes tests in daily tests. There is an improvement towards a better direction in the learning process after problem-solving strategies through problem-based learning. This can be seen in students who participate actively and are more responsible in the learning process, such as discussing, presenting, expressing opinions, and asking questions to provide a learning conclusion. The number of students who achieved the KKM on the basic score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) was 47,36%, 65,78%, and 92,10%, respectively. The percentage of KKM achievement also shows an increase from before to after the action, so that it can be said that student learning outcomes also increase. The results of this study indicate that the application of problem solving strategies through problem-based learning can improve the learning process and improve mathematics learning outcomes for students of grade XII science 6 SMA Negeri 4 Pekanbaru.
