Comment: Journal of Community Empowerment is a scientific journal published by Faculty of Economy and Business, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. This journal aims to publish conceptual thinking and ideas based on community services activities. This journal contains the publication of various activities for handling and managing various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in the community. The implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. The service activities are arranged in an activity that aims to improve the welfare of the community. Comment: Journal of Community Empowerment has a focus on developing science in the field of community service. The scope includes training, marketing, local food security, appropriate technology, community empowerment, social access, border areas, less developed areas, and education for sustainable development.

Abstract

 Skills create favorable conditions for the development of activities and talents to achieve affordable and decent education. One of the additional skills that can be developed is the ability to speak English. Besides being an additional skill, English is also part of the education curriculum of high school students. This community service provides basic English training for students especially for Al-Huda High School students to improve their skill in English. We developed students’ skills by teaching steps to learn English in four ways: vocabulary, tenses/grammar, fluenting, and naturalizing. Mastering vocabulary is the main thing to learn English. Students are very enthusiastic in participating in this basic English training. This training really helps students to understand the basics of English, which is packaged in an attractive form, so students are very easy to understand. In addition, in this training students are not only invited to understand in theory, but also in practice such as singing songs in English.Keywords: Skills, English, Education, Community Service.

Abstract

The problem that is being faced by the world at this time is the waste problem, even in Indonesia itself it has not been resolved. Especially in Pulau Payung Village, which needs special attention regarding waste due to the crisis in the existence of trash bins, therefore the procurement of trash bins is carried out. The purpose of this activity is to increase public awareness about disposing of waste in its place so that the environment becomes cleaner and healthier. This activity consists of four stages, namely the preparation, implementation, final and evaluation stages. The evaluation was carried out by interviewing several resource persons involved in village management. The results of the service are considered quite good because they can encourage public awareness about cleanliness so that the environment becomes cleaner and healthier.

Abstract

Teknologi di Indonesia saat ini sangat pesat dengan ditandainya usaha-usaha dagang yang didirikan. Setiap perusahaan umumnya memiliki sistem pencatatan yag membantu pelaksanaan kegiatan operasional. Pencatatan transaksi dengan bantuan komputer adalah hal yang sudah biasa, baik dilingkungan perusahaan kecil maupun besar. Kondisi tersebut terjadi karena beberapa keunggulan dalam pengelolaan data transaksi dibandingkan dengan pengolahan data transaksi secara manual. Hasil kegiatan yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa resiko yang terjadi karena pencatatan yang  masih dilakukan secara manual mengakibatkan kurang efektif dan efesiennya dalam melakukan pekerjaan sehingga menimbulkan resiko kurang tertatanya pencatatan dalam kegiatan perusahaan. Dalam hal ini perusahaan dapat melakukan salah satu cara pengoptimalan pencatatan kedalam sistematis atau komputerisasi agar lebih efektif dan efesiennya dalam melakukan kegiatan perusahaan dan memudahkan pekerjaan.Kata kunci : Optimalisasi, Pencatatan, Ms. Excel

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memanfaatkan limbah tempurung kelapa yang ada dimasyarakat dengan mengolahnya menjadi briket. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kualitas briket arang tempurung kelapa yang baik untuk digunakan sebagai bahan bakar alternatif. Pembatasan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu tepung kanji dan tepung sagu dengan perbandingan komposisi 90:10. Tekanan pengepresan yang digunakan yaitu 2000kg/cm2. Suhu pengeringan yaitu100°C menggunakan panas matahari selama 3 hari. Suhu karbonisasi adalah 500°C. Tempurung kelapa yaitu 1 kg, perbandingan perekat adalah 100 gram/0,2 liter air dan tidak menggunakan pelapis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pirolisis dengan proses pembakaran menggunakan tungku pembakaran tertutup dan pengayakan menggunakan ayakan dengan ukuran 40-60 mesh. Selanjutnya pengujian kualitas briket yaitu kadar air briket (%), kadar abu briket (%), kadar zat menguap (volatile matters) (%), kadar karbon terikat (fixed carbon) (%), pengukuran kerapatan (density) (g/cm2), berat jenis (kg/m3), pengukuran laju pembakaran (gr/menit) dan keteguhan tekan (kg/cm2). Hasil pengujian kualitas briket arang tempurung kelapa didapatkan nilai rata-rata kadar air adalah 3,42 %, nilai rata-rata kadar abu adalah 3,318 %, nilai rata-rata kadar zat menguap adalah3,31%, nilai rata-rata kadar karbon terikat adalah 93,37%, nilai rata-rata kerapatan adalah 1,55g/cm3,nilai rata-rata berat jenis adalah 1,52×10-6 kg/m2.s2, nilai rata-rata laju pembakaran adalah 0,342g/cm2, nilai rata-rata keteguhan tekan adalah 761,5N/m2.Kata kunci: Arang briket, alternatif, pandai besi

Abstract

English is one of the international languages whose speakers are widely spread, especially in the continent of Asia; Indonesia. Indonesia consists of thousands of large and small islands and has thousands of local languages . However, English is spoken chiefly by the Indonesian population. It is because English is one of the subjects that are not only taught in formal education but also course institutions. Tourism is a field of knowledge in the field of humanities. Tourism explores the problem of human needs for certain places that have exotic natural scenery/environments. Tourism also has a close relationship with tradition and culture. Tourism requires promotional tools to reach various groups from various parts of the world. One means of tourism promotion is through language. Therefore, it is not surprising that English is a means of tourism promotion.The use of English is very dominant in the tourism promotion sector and in terms of public services (hospitality), reservation of accommodation services, communication between (foreign) tourists and the public, promotion of goods and services, and several other fields. This service is carried out to determine the ability of tourism actors and tourism observers to promote tourism. In addition, training is also given to communicate in English for tourism actors who have not mastered English.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada para pekerja pandai besi desa Teratak tentang pentingnya Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3), sehingga tercipta kenyamanan dan keamanan dalam bekerja. Adapun kegiatan yang dilaksanakan adalah memberikan penyuluhan tentang K3, cara melaksanakan K3 dan bahaya tidak melaksanakan K3.Melalui metode ini permasalahan yang teridentifikasi akan teratasi dengan dilakukannya penyuluhan K3. Abstract

Cooperatives are business activities that play a role in the process of increasing income, economic growth, and realizing national stability. Cooperative supervisors are elements of the apparatus or cooperative structure other than the meeting of members and cooperative management in Indonesia. It is certain that cooperative performance without supervision will have a negative impact. At least managers find it easy to decide policies. The policy may be ensnared and become a bigger problem. This Community Service activity aims to provide a deeper understanding of the cooperative's financial reporting system and supervisory management, in order to create good and reliable performance management and financial reports. Community service activities are carried out at the PT PUSRI employee cooperative. The activity was attended by 20 cooperative employees. The participants as cooperative supervisors are mostly supervisors who have just been elected and appointed at member meetings in each cooperative unit. Previously the participants did not know about cooperative management, especially in carrying out their duties as supervisors of cooperatives, especially in the field of cooperative accounting in analyzing cooperative finances. However, after evaluating the community service activities, and the results of the evaluation, it was found that employees felt they had gained a better and deeper understanding of the cooperative's financial reporting system.

Abstract

The challenges for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are getting bigger as a result of the complex economic environment. MSMEs need to have good financial management skills. Financial management is an important element of overall business management. With financial management, MSMEs can make decisions about inventory planning and pricing, sufficient cash flow to maintain business operations and for better business forecasting and projections. Effective financial management will affect the overall profit of MSMEs. Financial management through the preparation of financial reports will have a positive impact on MSMEs in optimizing their business in the long term.This community service program is designed to provide solutions and assist CV Zerone in conducting financial management. This community service program is carried out because there is no comprehensive financial reporting system at CV Zerone so that owners have difficulty measuring the company's financial performance. This activity is carried out by providing training and assistance in making financial reports. The objectives of this community service program are: 1) providing education on the importance of financial reports for the company, 2) assisting CV Zerone in preparing comprehensive financial reports to show financial performance, 3) assisting CV Zerone in analyzing financial reports to improve company performance. This community service program makes CV Zerone able to make comprehensive financial reports, gain skills to analyze the results of financial reports and be able to make strategic decisions to optimize its financial performance.

Abstract

Desa Pulau Gadang Kecamatan XIII Koto Kampar Kabupaten Kampar memiliki Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) yang bernama Tabayang Kreatif, dimana merupakan salah satu usaha kelompok usaha kerajinan yang memproduksi dan memasarkan berbagai produk kerajinan dan souvenir dengan memanfaatkan bahan lokal yaitu tempurung kelapa. Berkembangnya destinasi wisata di Kabupaten Kampar menjadi pasar bagi produk-produk berbahan baku lokal. Tingkat permintaan terhadap produk hasil kerajinan dan souvenir dari tempurung kelapa saat ini cukup tinggi, namun KUB Tabayang Kreatif memiliki keterbatasan keahlian sumber daya manusia untuk mengembangkan variasi dan desain dari produk yang dihasilkan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pelatihan diversifikasi produk berbahan baku lokal yang dihasilkan oleh anggota KUB Tabayang Kreatif dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan. Setelah dilakukannya pelatihan diversifikasi produk, KUB Tabayang Kreatif sudah mampu memproduksi berbagai produk kerajinan dari tempurung kelapa dan bambu. Dengan semakin berkembangnya produk yang dihasilkan maka diharapkan akan meningkatnya pendapatan para anggota dan bertambahnya minat penduduk sekitar memanfaatkan bahan baku lokal yang ada untuk menambah penghasilan rumah tangga.

Abstract

Desa Alam Panjang merupakan merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Rumbio Jaya Kabupaten Kampar. Desa ini memiliki luas kurang lebih 3.600 Hektar dengan jumlah penduduk lebih dari 800 KK. Sebagian besar penduduk desa Alam Panjang merupakan seorang petani kebun karet dan sawit. Hasil perkebunan yang melimpah menjadikan salah satu anggota PKK Alam Panjang memanfaatkan hal tersebut sebagai kreativitas yang dapat bermanfaat dan dikembangkan oleh masyarakat lainnya. Dengan berbahan dasarkan buah kelapa sawit dapat menjadi dodol tradisional yang enak dan mudah dibuat. Dengan adanya olahan dodol kelapa sawit ini dapat membantu UMKM warga desa Alam Panjang.
