Abstract

“The Kalimas River is a river that runs across The Surabaya City. This river is a tributary of the Surabaya River. There are few functions of this river, namely as one of the main drainage channels, fishing locations. From the water quality data collected by DLH Surabaya City, Kalimas river water quality is included in class III. The 2020-2025 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan states that the Kalimas River has function as river transportation and tourism facilities. Meanwhile, in Permen LH No. 5 of 2021, class II rivers can be the only one used as tourism facilities. Because of this, efforts or studies are needed so that the river can make up to class II standards. , what is the level of contamination in the water body, it is also necessary to know the maximum capacity level of the Kalimas River. The first steps is to identify the quality of the Kalimas River using the QUAL2KW Modeling method, with 3 skenarios to take into account the calibration of each parameter, parameter values in the coming year, and the natural conditions of the Kalimas River without pollutant load input. The results of the study show that currently the Kalimas River is in class III and has a pollution carrying capacity for BOD parameters of 1.29 kg/day to 7.29 kg/day; the COD parameter is 0.48 kg/day to 5.62 kg/day; the TSS parameter is 257.12 to 257.99 kg/day.”

Abstract

One of the trading facilities in urban areas is the market. The market is one of the facilities in which there are trading or buying and selling activities between sellers and customers. Expired food or food ingredients, food that has been damaged and food that is not consumed and then discarded by the end consumer can also be referred to as food waste (Food Waste). The existence of waste cannot be avoided in urban areas, unmanaged waste will cause various environmental problems such as floods, disease outbreaks, and others. Therefore, it is necessary to have a treatment for waste generation so that it can avoid environmental problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the generation of food waste originating from market facilities in the city of Surabaya, especially traditional markets, namely the Keputran market and the Genteng market. Data collection on the quantity of FW generated was carried out using the EPA-A Guide to Conducting and Analyzing a Food Waste Assessment method. Market TPS leachate was also tested with BOD, COD, and TSS parameters. The results showed that the total quantification of generation from the North Keputran Traditional Market was 12,236 Kg with an average daily generation of 1,738 Kg/day or 1,748 tons/day, while for the Traditional Market Genteng Market it was 409,196 Kg/day with an average generation of 58,456 kg/day, and leachate testing found information that the leachate produced by the two markets did not meet the regulations or quality standards related to leachate in the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P59 of 2016.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a mosquito-borne disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. WHO said Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease that often occurs in tropical and subtropical regions, where this disease is a disease that can be contagious and causes death due to bleeding. For mild dengue fever, it will cause high fever and flu-like symptoms. Efforts that the community can do are to play an active role in monitoring mosquito vectors on a regular basis through the simultaneous movement to Eradicate Mosquito Nests (PSN). The PSN movement can be carried out with 3M Plus, namely firstly draining the water reservoir which can be done every 3 days or giving abate powder to kill the larvae, secondly closing the water reservoir tightly so that mosquitoes do not lay eggs, thirdly burying used items such as used cans, used tires , which can accommodate rainwater. Incidence rate (incidence rate) Is the number of all new cases in a population in a certain period. Usually the incidence rate is used for acute disease.
