Abstract

One of the rivers in Bojonegoro Regency is the Gandong River where the surrounding community uses the Gandong River for irrigation of agricultural land, transportation facilities, and household activities. The decline in water quality along the river is caused by factors such as population density, waste from activities, and the use of rivers that are not in accordance with their uses. This study aims to determine the quality of surface water and determine how to control water pollution in Gandong River, Bojonegoro Regency. The purposive sampling method was used to determine the sampling location at two points, namely the upstream and downstream parts of the river. Data analysis uses a quantitative approach and describes the results of research observations which are then compared with water quality standards that have been determined based on PP No. 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. The condition of the Gandong River water quality seen from the measurement results on the BOD parameter at point 1 and point 2, namely 6 mg/L and 7 mg/L, does not meet the quality standards. While the parameters TDS, TSS, pH, COD, DO, and Total Coliform still meet the quality standards. To control pollution in the Gondang River, a strategy of periodic inspection of river water quality is needed even though most river water quality parameters are still within the quality standards.

Abstract

Markets are places that facilitate buying and selling activities and are visited by many people, it making them vulnerable to the spread of a disease that can come from virus-carrying animals or inadequate sanitation. A healthy market should have good sanitation, such as adequate availability of water as sanitary higiene with adequate quality. Water used for sanitary hygiene purposes must be protected from pollutant sources and safe from contamination, and meet quality standards according to Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 32 of 2017. Therefore, to determine the quality of water that will be used to meet the sanitation needs of the market, this study measured the quality of clean water directly at three points around the location of the “Pasar Agro” development plan. Water quality measurements are carried out using methods according to the Indonesian National Standard according to each parameter to be measured. Based on the results of the measurements carried out, there are two chemical parameters that have not met, namely manganese and detergent parameters, as well as biological parameters in the form of total coliform. Correlation testing was carried out using Minitab 17 software on water chemistry parameters to determine the relationship between parameters, and it was found that there were only a few parameters that were related to each other.

Abstract

The amount of surface water pollutant load in the upstream tends to be lower when compared to the amount of surface water pollutant load in the downstream, this is due to the flow of water flowing from upstream to downstream and resulting in changes in surface water quality. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between the level of surface water pollutant load in the upstream and downstream areas of Greges River, Surabaya by utilizing SPSS 23 software. The analysis method utilized refers to the simple linear regression method. The results of the analysis showed that with a significance level of less than (<) 5%, it can be concluded that there is an indication of an acceptable relationship between upstream surface water quality and downstream surface water quality. Simultaneously, the upstream surface water quality has a significant effect on the downstream surface water quality of Greges River, with the level of relationship reaching 85.7%, meaning that there is a very strong linear relationship between the upstream surface water quality and the downstream surface water quality it produces.

Abstract

The surface water of the Mertasari River (upstream) in Jembrana Regency, Bali is polluted with waste water due to the activities of the Negara Public Market (PUN). So that the quality of surface water decreases which is characterized by increasing levels of pollutant parameters. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of simple filtration tests with variations in the arrangement of filter media to reduce BOD5 and COD that exceed quality standards. The research method uses purposive sampling to determine the sampling location. From the results of water quality, the values of 8 mg/L and 29 mg/L respectively were obtained, which did not meet the quality standards based on Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2021. The arrangement used for filter media consists of palm fiber, sand, gravel, activated carbon, and zeolite. The filtration test treatment was carried out with three sampling times for each parameter with the amount of removal obtained BOD5 by 93.75% and COD by 96.14%. From these results, the final value of the BOD5 parameter is 0.9 mg/L and COD is 1.12 mg/L. So from the test results, simple filtration with the specified media arrangement is considered effective in reducing BOD5 and COD pollutant levels in surface water bodies around the State Public Market.

Abstract

Waste is one of the most serious problems experienced by the world, and Indonesia is no exception. Waste generated by human activity or nature will continue to increase, if this waste is not managed properly, it will cause new problems such as being a source of disease, can cause global warming and can cause foul odors. On the other hand, energy demand will continue to increase along with the increasing population and economic growth. The limitations of available energy sources are dwindling, thus demanding attention to switch energy sources using renewable energy sources to meet the increasing energy needs. This study aims to identify the potential utilization of biogas from organic waste in various potential applications that can support renewable energy sources. In this research, the method used is a literature study which is analyzed by descriptive analysis method. The results obtained in this study are the making of biogas is done by several processes and using a digester. This biogas has the potential to be a renewable energy source because it contains very high methane and carbon dioxide compounds. Biogas from organic materials can be used as cooking fuel, a substitute for petrol (gasoline), lighting, and power generation. Of course, the utilization of biogas from organic waste can reduce the amount of waste supply and become a source of energy that is very beneficial for daily life.

Abstract

Enggano Island has several potential biological resources that can improve the economy in the area, one of which is coral reefs. The biological resource potential of coral reef ecosystems in the Enggano Island area is one of the mainstays of community livelihoods, namely as a fishing ground for fishermen. This activity has been carried out for a long time and the intensity is getting higher from time to time, so it is necessary to conduct a study to calculate the value of the economic benefits of coral reef ecosystems in the Enggano Island area in the form of direct and indirect economic value for the benefit of sustainable management and utilisation. This literature review aims to provide information to various parties related to the Economic Benefits of Coral Reef Ecosystem Sustainability in Enggano Island Waters, Bengkulu Province. The results of the review of previous studies showed that the value of direct economic benefits amounted to Rp. 561,327,640, indirect benefits amounted to Rp. 46,342,500,000, optional benefits amounted to Rp. 2,516,077,983, and the benefits of the existence of the Enggano Island coral reef ecosystem amounted to Rp. 127,425,000,000. All of these economic benefits have been felt by fishing communities and other user communities.

Abstract

Threats to the security of important objects and files are growing rapidly. In the rapid development of the digital era, the security of goods and files has become very important, which is a big problem in terms of cyber security. Cybercriminals are more clever and skilled at exploiting information security gaps in digital systems. Improving cyber security requires a thorough analysis of the threats faced in the digital environment and the solutions that can be implemented. The aim of this research is to analyze the main targets, identify the main challenges to protect them from cyber attacks, evaluate and recommend measures and strategies to improve file security, explore case studies related to threats and solutions in the digital environment. The qualitative approach uses data collection methods. Potential threats of cyber crime in Indonesia include hacking, cracking, cyber sabotage and spyware. The risk management process includes identification, evaluation, handling and controlling risks. To anticipate danger, therefore, technology experts are needed to support the development of defense systems in developed countries and establish a cyber security command center.

Abstract

PT. X’s activities, such as the consumption of clean water by workers, visitors, and building maintenance produce domestic liquid waste in the form of grey water. Domestic liquid waste originating form PT. X is used for watering the company’s green open space, that has an area of 2384,4 . The water treatment used is anaerobic and aerobic biofilter. The volume of liquid waste grey water is 70 of the liquid waste produced at 4,09/day, sp the water utilization effieciency is 70. The resulting domestic liquid waste contains the pollutant parameters BOD5, COD, TSS, -N, oil grease, and Total Coliform, so processing by WWTP is required to be below quality standards. The processing units used consist of an interceptor tank, equalization tank, initial settling tank, anaerobic, aerobic, sedimentation, and efflluent tank. After processing and fulfil the quality standards, which has been set, the resulting efflulent is used for at a dose of 0,002 m3/m2/day with a watering frequency of 2 times a day.

Abstract

Education is an effort to make sense of understanding and the promise of learning so that it can combine the qualities of life. For this reason, it is necessary to minimize it so that there are no obstacles to learning activities. Obstacles are a role in the process of learning language and language to gain knowledge. Therefore, samahawa is aware of being able to fall behind in learning which has an impact on the obstacles that are left behind. This research focuses on qualitative descriptive research which is also used to analyze learning obstacles in statistics courses. Studying statistics courses is very crucial for students during their time when they are required to study, process, analyze and interpret data to complete their thesis, thesis and/or dissertation. Simply put, statistics in education involve the regular collection of both raw and unprocessed data. The subject of this presentation is the level II and III health news management study program which is attended by 30 people at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan. This research is a cooperative company that is secure in its location to reveal the things that have become a factor that hinders learning in the world in the eyes of College Statistics.

Abstract

The largest source of waste is generated from households at 38.3%. One of the methods of recycling organic waste by recycling is by fermentation, for example by producing eco-enzyme which is a solution of complex organic substances produced from the fermentation process of a mixture of organic waste, molasses and water. In this research, the purpose of using eco-enzyme is as a cleaning fluid for both sinks and crusty floors with the aim of seeing the effectiveness of eco-enzyme work with the aim of being a substitute for cleaning fluids sold on the market and including measuring the savings that can be made from this substitution in PT. XX, using experimental research methods. The results of research and observations show that eco-enzyme cleaning fluid is able to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli (E.coli) bacteria as evidenced by a decrease in the number of bacteria (without eco-enzyme: 4.25 × 102 CFU/cm2; with eco-enzyme: 3.7 × 101 CFU/cm2) through swab tests and laboratory tests. Visual observations show significant results in making crusty floors clean. The savings that occur during 1 month by using eco-enzyme cleaning fluids as substitutes for cleaners sold in the market are IDR. 938,500/month.
