Abstract

Cultivation of vaname shrimp ponds is conducted by PT. DPP exclusively, but many other companies are also involved in the vaname shrimp cultivation business center, which creates competition. To compete with other shrimp pond businesses, a marketing strategy is needed. The methods used are EFAS (External Factor Analysis Summary) and IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary) analysis, SWOT analysis, and QSPM analysis. Based on the results of the SWOT matrix analysis, it is evident that the strategic position is in quadrant (I) where the strength factor is greater than the weakness factor and the opportunity factor is greater than the threat factor, thus indicating an aggressive strategy (Growth-Oriented Strategy). This means that PT DPP vannamei shrimp company is in a potential position, making it highly likely to continue doing business optimally. The prioritized alternative marketing strategies for vaname shrimp are: 1) maintaining good relations with consumers by fulfilling consumer orders according to demand, and 2) utilizing adequate facilities and infrastructure to maintain products in accordance with sales standards.

Abstract

However, the people who work as fishermen feel disadvantaged because they cannot find fish and other marine animals as a livelihood due to the damage to the marine ecosystem caused by PLTU waste. However, people who work as fishermen feel lost because they cannot find fish and other marine animals as a livelihood due to damage to the marine ecosystem caused by PLTU waste. This literature review aims to provide information to the company, government, and community regarding the impacts caused by the existence of the Teluk Sepang PLTU and recommendations for solutions that can be applied to minimise the impact of pollution. The results of the review show that the discharge of wastewater from the Teluk Sepang PLTU has the potential to cause the parameters of temperature, salinity, pH, and turbidity of seawater to be incompatible with quality standards. Damage to marine ecosystems can also be caused by coal spills from barges. This causes all marine ecosystems to be disrupted, ultimately causing the community to experience economic losses. Three strategies can be recommended in an effort to control marine pollution due to the presence of the Teluk Sepang PLTU, namely increasing the efficiency of coal fuel use, managing liquid waste effectively, and increasing water use efficiency.

Abstract

Forests are terrestrial ecosystems that are mostly covered with trees and dominate almost the entire land surface of the earth. Forests play an important role in ecology, social, economic and environmental aspects. Forests are useful as producers of environmental goods and services. The benefits of forests as producers of goods such as wood, rattan, medicinal plants, fruit and so on are clearly visible and immediately felt. However, other benefits of forests as producers of services such as absorbing carbon, producing oxygen, regulating water management, preserving ecosystems, preventing erosion and others whose benefits can be felt but not seen sometimes receive less attention from policy makers because they are not felt directly. in economics. In fact, these indirect benefits greatly influence the quality of the environment and are very beneficial for humans and other living creatures. This article provides an overview of the indirect benefits of forests through a review of several literature. This literature review shows that the indirect benefits of forests, especially as carbon absorbers and oxygen producers, make the largest contribution to calculating the total economic value, so that policy makers need more attention in managing forests so that they remain sustainable.

Abstract

Coal mining in Indonesia is generally carried out using open pit mining methods, thereby disrupting and destroying the ecosystem and natural balance, causing negative impacts that result in environmental damage. Therefore, sustainable development with an environmental perspective is important for every nation and country that wants to protect its natural resources. The main cause of damage to the ecosystem or environment is humans. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach method. According to Williams (1988), the qualitative method is an approach that in the research proposal, process, hypothesis, going into the field, data analysis and data conclusions up to writing uses aspects of trends, non-numerical calculations, situational descriptive, interviews, in-depth analysis, deep. contents, snowballs and stories. The research findings regarding the study of the implementation of ex-mining land reclamation at PT Rekasindo Guriang Tandang's Coal Mining Business License in North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province are regarding community knowledge and participation in reclamation activities, land preparation, implementation of activities, equipment, costs, and commitment of directors or managers. The implementation of reclamation activities at PT Rekasindo Guriang Tandang did not go well because the plant growth success rate was low and plant growth was less than optimal. So the government and Mining Business License (IUP) managers need to take policies to involve the community more to play a more active role in reclamation activities carried out in areas around their environment.

Abstract

The global demand for energy is driving increased exploration, production and processing of crude oil, increasing the risk of oil spills during these processes and contaminating marine habitats and biota. As hazardous and toxic substances, oil spills require effective and comprehensive management. Bioremediation uses the metabolism of microbes to break down hydrocarbons and convert contaminants into harmless compounds. One species of hydrocarbon-degrading bacteria suitable for bioremediation is Bacillus subtilis. Its adaptability to changes in temperature, salinity, and oxygen levels, as well as its resistance to environmental stress, make it an ideal choice for bioremediation as a sustainable and efficient solution to oil pollution in marine ecosystems. This study aims to explore the potential use of Bacillus subtilis as an alternative for managing crude oil spills, particularly in Indonesian waters.

Abstract

The development of the Indonesian palm oil industry has direct implications for the increasingly widespread cultivation of oil palm, both managed by small-scale companies and those managed by large-scale companies. This condition is directly proportional to the increase in the amount of solid waste and liquid waste produced from industrial activities. Solid waste and liquid waste can pollute the environment and endanger public health if not managed properly. This literature review aims to examine the role of partnerships between communities and the palm oil industry in managing palm oil waste and its implications for environmental health. Partnerships involve active community participation in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating waste management programs. The results of the literature review show that the partnership has had a positive impact, such as improving water and air quality and reducing the prevalence of environmentally related diseases. Apart from that, community empowerment programs in processing waste into economically valuable products also provide economic benefits. However, there are inhibiting factors such as low public awareness, limited human resources, and lack of other supporting facilities and infrastructure.
