Abstract

penelitian ini menyoroti dampak konten di media sosial terhadap keterampilan public speaking mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Mercu Buana Yogyakarta. Dalam era digital yang terus berkembang, mahasiswa menjadi agen perubahan dalam dunia komunikasi, aktif terlibat dalam dinamika media sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelajahi dampak konten media sosial secara mendalam, baik positif maupun negatif, terhadap keterampilan public speaking mahasiswa. Pendahuluan ini menyajikan konteks perkembangan media sosial dan peran krusial keterampilan public speaking dalam kurikulum Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi. Mahasiswa, terutama di Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, sering terpapar berbagai konten di media sosial yang dapat memengaruhi gaya berbicara, tata bahasa, dan pemilihan kata. Pengaruh bahasa informal dan gaya komunikasi santai yang umum di media sosial dapat menjadi tantangan dalam konteks komunikasi formal. Dampak negatif media sosial mencakup pengaruh terhadap gaya hidup mahasiswa dan potensi risiko seperti kekerasan, pelecehan, dan penipuan. Kebermaknaan public speaking dalam dunia akademik dan profesional menjadi krusial, dan mahasiswa dihadapkan pada tantangan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara di depan umum seiring dominasi media sosial. Metode Penelitian, digunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan paradigma positivistik untuk menganalisis karakteristik variabel yang diteliti. Penelitian ini berfokus pada hasil konkret dampak konten di media sosial terhadap kemampuan public speaking.

Abstract

Kebijakan televisi digital (TV digital) telah diberlakukan di Indonesia sejak 2022. Kebijakan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas siaran televisi dan meningkatkan daya tarik penonton TV. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kebijakan TV digital terhadap daya tarik penonton TV di Dusun Budegan, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan responden sebanyak 113 orang penonton TV di Dusun Budegan. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan TV digital berpengaruh positif terhadap daya tarik penonton TV di Dusun Budegan, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya kualitas gambar dan suara siaran TV digital, serta meningkatnya pilihan program siaran TV digital. Kebijakan TV digital telah berhasil meningkatkan daya tarik penonton TV di Dusun Budegan, Kabupaten Gunung Kidul . Hal ini dapat menjadi salah satu indikator keberhasilan implementasi kebijakan TV digital di Indonesia. Kata kunci: kebijakan TV digital, daya tarik penonton TV, kualitas siaran TV, pilihan program siaran TV.

Abstract

This study analyzes the semiotics of the role and function of mass media in Habibie Ainun's films. This story is taken from the real life of a young man named Baharudin Jusuf Habibie who tried to build the Indonesian aerospace industry and make airplanes. The purpose of this study is to find out how the moral message conveyed in Rudy Habibie's film shapes moral messages such as human relationships with others, God, and their social environment. Using the k approach Myths, on the other hand, explain the habits and beliefs of the general public. The study divides the scene into three parts: man's relationship with man, man's relationship with God, and man's relationship with the social environment. Each section consists of eleven simple scenes. Data collection identifies the corpus of subtitles according to the classification found. The results of the research can be shown by the existence of mass media through this film will have a good impact on the community, especially for teenagers who can be innovated towards the main character who is memorable to bring many examples of good moral values that can be applied in everyday life and at the same time can boost the life of a more advanced nation.

Abstract

Lembaga Pendidikan sekarang juga perlu mengikuti perkembangan zaman dalam melakukan promosi melalui kerjasama dengan media massa seperti JBTV melalui program TV dan juga media sosial. JBTV berperan menjadi pihak kedua dalam menyempaikan pesan informatif mengenai sekolah yang diiklankan untuk memperoleh kesadaran khalayak . Upaya memajukan lembaga pendidikan melalui JBTV ini diharapkan dapat menjangkau sasaran yang lebih luas. Sehingga pada pelaksanaannya media pesan promosi ini diukur berpedoman dengan Customer Response Index (CRI) untuk melihat tingkat efektivitas per tahap indikator yaitu berawal dari awareness,prehensi, interest,tention, dan action . Tahap-tahap ini harus dilalui oleh satu-satu penonton agar dapat melanjutkan ke tingkat berikutnya mencapai tahap akhir yaitu melakukan tindakan atau aksi. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori Hierarchy-of-Effects dan melalui metode penelitian yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif yang mana hasil data yang telah dihitung kemudian dijabarkan secara rinci. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala Guttman sehingga pengelolahan datanya menggunakan biner. Perolehan presentasi hasil per indikator dihitung dengan rumus yang dikembangkan oleh Best. Hasil dari perhitungan persentasi tersebut menghasilkan hasil yang menarik karena semua memperhatikan per indikatornya di atas batas standar nilai kritis yaitu 50% dan semua hasil lebih dari 80% per tingkatan tahap CRI. Penelitian ini menghasilkan konklusi yaitu hasil JBTV yang dinilai efektif sebagai media promosi sekolah SMA dan SMK se-Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital, terutama melalui platform seperti WhatsApp, secara signifikan mengubah cara orang mengungkapkan emosi. Emoji, fitur kunci di WhatsApp, berfungsi sebagai alat efektif untuk menyampaikan nuansa dalam interaksi sosial. Dalam konteks orang dewasa di Kabupaten Karanganyar, di mana urbanisasi belum sepenuhnya terwujud, penggunaan teknologi digital, termasuk emoji, menciptakan dinamika komunikasi yang unik. Studi ini mengeksplorasi dampak penggunaan emoji WhatsApp terhadap ekspresi emosional dalam masyarakat dewasa. Data dari wilayah ini, mewakili sekitar 92% populasi netizen global, dianalisis dengan regresi non-linear. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa emoji WhatsApp memiliki dampak signifikan (48,5%) pada ekspresi emosional, menekankan peran vitalnya dalam komunikasi digital. Namun, sekitar 51,5% variasi ekspresi emosional tidak dapat dijelaskan oleh emoji WhatsApp, menandakan pengaruh faktor lain. Penelitian ini menyoroti kompleksitas komunikasi dan pentingnya menjelajahi aspek lain dari ekspresi emosional. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan baru tentang peran emoji dalam menyampaikan emosi, sambil mengakui pentingnya faktor lain dalam konteks komunikasi digital yang terus berkembang.

Abstract

The study "The Influence of @pandawaragroup Tiktok Content on Environmental Cleanliness Behavior" is motivated by content from @pandawaragroup which is quite popular among the public. With the aim of finding out how much influence @pandawaragroup's Tiktok content has on behavior in maintaining environmental cleanliness. This research uses quantitative research methods with an explanatory survey. The theory used is Uses and Effect with a population of followers of the Instagram account @pandawaragroup and sampling using a non- probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling method. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire using Google Form. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses a Likert scale. The results of this research are that the intensity, message content and attractiveness of the Tiktok @pandawaragroup content significantly influence the behavior of maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

In the context of broadcast media in Indonesia, especially television broadcasters such as Padang TV, there are complex challenges and opportunities. However, data shows that television media still plays an important role in people's lives, with high viewing rates. However, the shift in consumption patterns towards internet-based services is a challenge that television stations must face. The phenomenon of viewers moving to cable TV and internet services has resulted in a decline in interest in local broadcasts. This research discusses how Padang TV's efforts to increase viewers through the Sumbar Rancak Bana program. The research method used is a qualitative approach, collecting and analyzing data in the form of words and human actions. This research is descriptive, providing a description and analysis of the research results without making broad conclusions. The analysis and theories used reveal that Padang TV's efforts to increase viewers on the Sumbar Rancak Bana program are in accordance with the theory of media convergence by Henry Jenkins. Convergence of Technology, Business and Content is used by Padang TV, where this theory recognizes the two-way interaction of viewers and media and the role of viewers in shaping experiences. Padang TV implements the Marketing Mix in the Rancak Bana program, with diverse content and supporting facilities that sustain the program. The diversity of Padang TV's viewers in demographics, geography and interests is reflected in the different classifications, showing suitability to the program presented.

Abstract

The Dharmasraya Regency Tourism Office faces various reasons that lead to failure in promoting the Pamalayu Festival. Seeing the challenges faced by the Tourism Office in promoting this festival, researchers are interested in digging deeper into the communication strategies used. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Communication Strategy of the Dharmasraya Regency Tourism Office is in Promoting the Pamalayu Festival. The research method used in this study used a qualitative descriptive approach with qualitative research. Data were collected using in-depth interviews and documentation methods for informants. Data analysis used data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The theory used in this study namely Laswel's communication theory. Lasswell states that the best way to explain the communication process is to answer the question: who says what in which channel to whom with what effect (who says what through what channel to whom with what effect). The answer to Lasswell's paradigmatic question is the elements of the communication process, namely the communicator, message, media/channel, receiver, and effect. The results of this study indicate that the strategy used by the Dharmasraya district tourism office in promoting the Pamalayu festival is with multimedia campaigns, campaigns with print media, cross-regional collaboration, and involving local communities. While the inhibiting factors for the marketing communication strategy of the Pamalayu Festival are limited access to technology, lack of human resources, and ignorance or ignorance.

Abstract

This research aims to gather information about the activities of Business Public Relations (PR) at IBM Bekasi Campus. The method used in this research employs qualitative methods with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with informants, document examination, observation, and data analysis, including observation, data reduction, and data presentation. The results of this study indicate that the Internal and External Public Relations (PR) activities at IBM Bekasi Campus emphasize the crucial role of PR in shaping a positive image, strengthening internal relationships, and increasing engagement with external parties. Internal PR focuses on fostering corporate culture, effective communication, and increasing employee engagement, while External PR emphasizes innovative promotional strategies, effective communication with the public, and strategic partnerships with industries. Both complement each other in creating a strong campus identity. Two-way communication, recognition of employee contributions, and engagement development strategies in Internal PR have a positive impact on the work environment and productivity. Meanwhile, External PR successfully creates the campus's appeal through various communication channels, active participation in educational events, and the use of social media as a promotional tool. Alumni involvement and responses to public feedback indicate adaptation that is relevant to technological developments and communication trends. The overall PR activities at IBM Bekasi Campus create a dynamic ecosystem, strengthen internal foundations, and open opportunities for sustainable partnerships, maintaining solid relationships with various stakeholders, and attracting prospective students.

Abstract

YouTube is a form of social media that is included in the New Media category. Healthy lifestyle behavior popularized by Ade Rai through content on YouTube is able to change the audience's perception of a healthy lifestyle. An initial survey conducted by researchers at Gym D'max Padang City found that respondents took a healthy lifestyle lightly, and thought that they only needed to consume healthy food without having to get enough rest. However, after watching the content created by Ade Rai, it provides important education regarding implementing a healthy lifestyle. Ade Rai always provides information from sources such as books, scientific journals and other trusted sources. Therefore, respondents to every content he uploads can have information that is educational and based on facts, so that the information he shares is useful. This research uses a quantitative type of research. The sampling technique is a simple random sampling technique with 55 permanent members of the Padang City D'Max Gym. Simple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis with the SPSS 24 program. The results indicated that there was an influence of Bodybuilder Ade Rai's YouTube content on awareness of healthy living at the D'Max Gym, Padang City.
