Abstract

The COD (Cash On Delivery) payment method is a payment that can be made after the buyer or recipient of the goods has received the goods ordered. With the convenience that people get in online shopping activities, online shopping is becoming more and more popular among people, one of which is in the city of Solok. And one of the expeditions in Solok City which is a place for sending goods to Solok is J&T Express. There are problems caused by customers' ignorance of online buying and selling mechanisms that use the COD payment method, causing problems for couriers and customers during the transaction process. For this reason, J&T Express has a strategy in processing COD transactions with customers. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive approach and uses Joseph Devito's theory to analyze the communication process of J&T Express's strategy in transaction services via COD. The result of this research is that J&T Express provides education to couriers to provide information to COD customers about rules, policies and procedures for handling complaints such as complaints about ordered goods using the COD payment method. Apart from that, regulations regarding COD payment methods are also available on the internet so that many COD customers can know them. In this strategy, there are obstacles that make it difficult for COD customers to receive information, namely the lack of courier education to customers about COD regulations, the existence of limited customer technology, and also customer disagreement with the rules.

Abstract

The development of online games itself cannot be separated from the development of computer technology and computer networks themselves. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a type of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game that features 5 vs 5 battles, classic 3 lane battles. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach as a method or way to achieve research objectives. This research uses a data analysis method that includes reduction and interpretation. Researchers collected data in the field by writing down findings into small notes on observations made and transcribing the results of interviews that have been obtained. This research explains how the BRIC Esports community's communication style in an effort to increase the effectiveness of strategies in playing Mobile Legends. This research is useful to be a reference and information for other communities or organizations in order to be better at choosing communication styles, especially in efforts to increase the effectiveness of strategies in playing Mobile Legends. The results of this study indicate that the communication style of the BRIC Esports community in an effort to increase the effectiveness of strategies in playing Mobile Legends, namely equalitarian style, dynamic style, controlling style, structuring style, and relinguishing style.

Abstract

This research explores the change in interest in listening to Radio rather than Podcasts and assesses what factors support the change in interest in listening. The research was conducted to understand how technological developments such as digital audio platforms, and the integration of social media platforms affect the distribution of audio content such as podcasts. The researchers analyzed how these platforms affect audience, user engagement and monetization of audio content. Explored consumer behavior, listening habits, and audience preferences especially within Generation Z in relation to radio and podcasts. Researchers studied how factors such as content type, delivery style, and speed of access influence interest in listening to podcasts and online radio stations. Explore the extent to which the availability of digital audio content such as podcasts and online radio affects listener satisfaction. Researchers studied the factors that influence content selection, suitability to audience interests and listeners' response to the content presented. The trend of commodities with different purposes coming together to produce a single, multipurpose good or service is known as technological convergence, and it is a growing phenomenon that is changing the commercial landscape. Recent technological advancements have come to the attention of all human beings. The pursuit of convergence is accelerating market transformation and the creation of innovative products and services for increasingly perceptive and discerning customers. It is from this Media Convergence that research was conducted to investigate the impact of recent technologies such as on-demand audio, streaming platforms, and podcast monetization on the radio and podcast industry as a whole.

Abstract

The rapid advances in communication technology have an impact on our daily lives, careers, and modes of communication. IoT (Internet of Things), e-learning, AI (Artificial Intelligence), cloud computing, mobile apps, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) communication are some of the key aspects in the development of communication technology. These trends explain how advancements in communication technology could impact daily interactions and lifestyle choices. Even while these developments create opportunities for efficiency and connectivity, it's essential to understand and deal with the societal problems and consequences that these developments also bring with it. Phubbing has become a thing as a consequence of technology use gone wrong. "Phubbing" is the practice of someone spending excessive amounts of time, especially during social interactions, attached to an electronic gadget, such as a smartphone. The goal of this research is to determine how phubbing affects social relationships and how advancements in technology contributed to this trend. Media Dependency Theory and Media Equation Theory analysis are used to support this research, which uses a qualitative literature review approach from multiple relevant journals. The findings of this study demonstrate that the phenomenon of phubbing and its effects on social interaction are the outcome of media dependency caused by technological advancements.

Abstract

The term sexual violence is not a new term in Indonesia because this type of violence occurs almost every year in the country. News about this issue demands social empathy. Therefore, journalists need to be careful in investigating sexual violence cases because journalism ethics need to be applicable in digging up information and collecting news to be analyzed and to be reported to the public. The purpose of this research is to find out how female journalists applied communication strategies in investigating sexual violence cases towards women. This research uses a qualitative approach, in the form of a case study, and its data collection techniques are in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display, and conclusion remarks. The theory used in data analysis was the Social Penetration Theory. This theory refers to interpersonal relationships. According to Irwin Altman and Dalmas Taylor, social penetration theory illustrates the process of relationship ties between individuals that move from a superficial level of communication to the most complex level of communication. The result of this research explains that the communication strategy of female journalists in investigating sexual violence towards women is related to the application of feeling empathy, listening attentively, being open to knowing different views, and holding an even better relationship with the person being investigated for the news.

Abstract

This final assignment aims to describe and understand the importance of the role of public speaking reporters in creating English reportage video content for broadcasting as well as their ability to speak English, especially in the field of broadcasting. Public speaking is related and closely related to a reporter. Public speaking is the art of speaking and processing words in front of a large audience. Public speaking comes from two words, namely "public" which means general, public, society and "talk" which means to talk. A reporter must have the ability to do public speaking because one of his activities is conveying messages and information to the public so that the choice of language and processing of words must be paid attention to so that the content of the message can be conveyed and understood. The theory used in this final assignment is Aristotle's Rhetoric Theory. In his book "Rhetoric" Aristotle put forward the meaning of rhetoric, namely the ability to choose and use language in certain situations effectively to persuade other people. This theory is related to the final task of making a video reportage because in this video, a reporter must have the ability to do public speaking because one of the information activities is conveying messages to the public so the choice of language and processing of words must be conveyed effectively. The results of this final assignment report discuss how important the role of public speaking reporters is in creating English reportage video content for broadcasting as well as their ability to speak English, especially in the field of broadcasting. Especially in the world of journalism and broadcasting, if you use English it will reach and cover a wide area and have various other benefits. Therefore, we must continue to hone our skills in public speaking and English because this is one of the assets for getting great opportunities and opportunities in various fields of life.

Abstract

Film is a part of communication that utilizes technology in several tools such as color and sound which are recommended to convey messages through moving images. In the production process, a short film must go through stages, namely pre-production, production and post-production for the film Sabda Rindu. The process results from those obtained at the pre-production stage, at the production stage the director conducts research to look for ideas for the film to be produced with the team to carry out planning both in determining production time, talent casting, contracts, permits, correspondence and logistics. At the production stage, namely the implementation of shooting, the director and the team work together, where working together here is how individuals can do their work optimally, functionally, well and professionally to realize what is planned in the script into an arrangement of words which then create a picture that tells a story. The post-production stage is recording or rearranging all shooting results based on shooting notes and images. And also the code numbers in the production in the form of digits, frames, seconds, minutes and hours that appear on the image and the results of each shoot are recorded. If anything needs to be added or edited again, revisions will be made as desired until the results are satisfactory.

Abstract

Delinquency in students occurs because the condition of students is still unstable or in the process of searching for their identity. Apart from that, student delinquency can also be influenced by their environment, whether from family, friendship or community environment. With communication between teachers and students who have problems, they will experience their own satisfaction and experience catharsis (the release of the underlying problem with relief and understanding of the problem). But in helping to solve student problems, guidance and counseling teachers need various ways to find out the real problem, and to be able to provide students with an understanding that the student is having problems. Therefore, interpersonal communication strategies are really needed so that students who have problems can express something hidden beneath their self-awareness, beneath their abilities and beneath their feelings. Interpersonal communication strategies themselves have a big influence in changing bad student attitudes. Because face to face or individually, the teacher will know better the reasons why the student committed the act, making it easier for the teacher to find a solution or eliminate the student's bad behavior. Communication is an important aspect of human life, communication is divided into several types of communication, including: interpersonal communication and group communication. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach and uses Social Penetration theory. The results of this research explain the interpersonal communication strategies of guidance and counseling teachers in handling delinquency students at SMK Negeri 8 Padang with full empathy, understanding, openness and good relationships with students.

Abstract

In filmmaking, shooting techniques have a very important role in providing the meaning that you want to convey to the audience. Therefore, when making a film, it is necessary to take into account the size of the images when taking them so that the visuals displayed can please the audience's eyes and provide a message that is easy to understand. The cameraman is tasked with compiling, editing and reviewing images and is responsible for the production process from start to finish, then handed over to the editor. The cameraman himself carries out tasks starting from preparing the camera settings, checking the audio and adjusting the shooting angle because all the images and audio taken must be complete so as not to make it difficult for the editor to edit. The film Sabda Miss is a slice of life genre film where in this film, the cameraman tries to emphasize and emote the actors with the aim of bringing the audience to feel the emotions conveyed by the actors. In the production of the film Sabda Miss, the cameraman helps the director in visualizing the film script that has been provided by the script writer. There are several shooting techniques, one of which is close up. A close up shot itself is a shot from the top of the head to the neck, in one scene of the film Sabda Miss there are several techniques for taking close up shots. The cameraman tries to give an emotional impression of the actor so that the audience can be carried away by the actor's emotions. Therefore, the shooting techniques used in the film Sabda Missing are able to provide an attractive and professional film quality.

Abstract

In the era of communication 5.0, technology is developing rapidly, causing radio to be less attractive to the younger generation. However, Radio Sushi FM, with the program "Pantun Balega", maintains its loyal listeners. The biggest challenge is the dependence on one broadcaster, One Tina. The research aims to understand Radio Sushi 99.1 FM's communication strategy in maintaining the program in Padang City.In this research, the method used is descriptive qualitative because it collects data in the form of words and pictures, not numbers. This approach produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. Observation, interviews, and documentation were used for data collection. The research was conducted at Radio Sushi 99.1 FM, Padang, with key informants: General Manager and Program Director, as well as broadcasters of Pantun Balega program. Triangulation was used to ensure the validity of the data.Radio Sushi 99.1 FM's communication strategy in maintaining Pantun Balega program to loyal listeners in Padang City is based on media dependency theory. Through deep understanding of listeners, consistency of broadcast schedule, involvement in the community, and interactivity with listeners, Sushi FM builds strong and sustainable relationships, making it an irreplaceable source of information and entertainment.Radio Sushi 99.1 FM has successfully implemented effective broadcaster communication strategies in the Pantun Balega program, including deep understanding of listeners, consistency of broadcast schedule, involvement in the community, and interactivity with listeners. However, the main drawback is the lack of a substitute broadcaster for the program, leading to dependence on one broadcaster and potential losses during absences.
