Abstract

This study examines the influence of candidate characteristics and digital political communication on Generation Z’s voting decisions in the 2024 Bukittinggi local election, with digital political literacy as a moderating variable. Using a quantitative survey of 379 respondents and analyzed through SEM-PLS, the findings indicate that candidate characteristics and digital political communication positively and significantly affect voting decisions, with digital political communication emerging as the most dominant factor. Digital political literacy significantly influences voting decisions in a negative direction, suggesting that higher literacy levels make Generation Z more critical in political choices. Furthermore, digital political literacy weakens the effect of candidate characteristics and strengthens the effect of digital political communication on voting decisions. These findings highlight the role of digital competence in shaping youth political behavior in the digital democracy era.

Abstract

Financial behavior is crucial for individual and macroeconomic stability, yet many members of Generation Z tend to adopt a consumptive lifestyle and prioritize short-term enjoyment over long-term financial security. Financial knowledge and financial attitude are important parts of shaping planned behavior, which is believed to influence financial behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of financial knowledge and financial attitude on financial behavior of Generation Z in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative with survey approach. The study population is Generation Z, born between 1997 and 2012, residing in Indonesia. A sample of 100 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. Primary data was collected through 5-point Likert scale online questionnaire distributed via Google Form. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results showed that financial knowledge had a positive and significant effect on the financial behavior of Generation Z (t-statistic 5,731 > 1,96 and p 0,000 < 0,05), while financial attitude does not significantly affect the financial behavior of Generation Z (t-statistic 1,224 < 1,96 and p 0,221 > 0,05). These findings have implications for policymakers, educators, and financial institutions to design Generation Z financial literacy programs that are more practical or directly applicable in everyday life, such as budgeting simulations, savings planning, and simple investment guidance, so that the knowledge gained is truly internalized into responsible and sustainable financial behavior

Abstract

The rapid growth of coffee shops in Indonesia, particularly in Tarakan City, reflects significant changes in modern lifestyle, where coffee shops have evolved into social spaces and symbols of lifestyle identity. However, this growth has not been fully accompanied by the optimal achievement of visitor targets among business operators. This study aims to analyze operational management strategies and evaluate their effectiveness in four coffee shops in Tarakan City, namely Bekawan Coffee, Terace Coffee, Bius Coffee, and Lain Coffee. This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques. The population includes business actors and customers, with a total sample of 120 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and direct observations. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics based on a Likert scale and thematic analysis to strengthen the interpretation of findings. The results indicate that the operational management strategies implemented across the four coffee shops fall within good to very good categories, with each coffee shop demonstrating distinct strengths across operational dimensions. Nevertheless, a gap remains between targeted and actual visitor numbers, suggesting that operational effectiveness has not fully translated into market performance. Therefore, stronger integration between operational strategies, marketing strategies, positioning, and customer experience enhancement is required to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of economic growth as a key indicator of regional development success, which is influenced by various factors such as investment, labor, and government expenditure in West Kalimantan Province, where economic growth has shown fluctuating trends during the 2019–2023 period. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of Domestic Investment (PMDN), Foreign Investment (PMA), labor, and government expenditure on economic growth. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of Domestic Investment (PMDN), Foreign Investment (PMA), labor, and government expenditure on economic growth. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consists of all regencies/cities in West Kalimantan Province, with a sample of 14 regions observed from 2019 to 2023, resulting in 70 panel data observations. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) through documentation techniques. Data analysis is conducted using panel data regression with EViews software, including model selection tests (Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier) and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that partially, PMDN (p=0.457), PMA (p=0.120), labor (p=0.549), and government expenditure (p=0.570) do not have a significant effect on economic growth. Simultaneously, all independent variables also show no significant influence (F=0.862; p=0.499). The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.1213, meaning that only 12.13% of the variation in economic growth can be explained by the model. In conclusion, the examined variables are not sufficient to explain economic growth optimally, indicating the need for more effective policies and the inclusion of other variables such as human capital quality, infrastructure, and leading economic sectors to promote sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Dealer X is a dealer located in Jakarta and operates in the sales, services, and spare parts sectors. Dealer X's sales data for 2024 has not met the sales target. Unfulfilled sales are caused by high sales employee turnover, promotional costs that are not commensurate with sales, and price competition and tight discounts. This study aims to find out whether there is a significant relationship between Sales Performance (X1), Price (X2), and Promotion (X3) to sales volume (Y1) and to develop the company's marketing strategy. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach through SEM-PLS analysis. The data used in this study are primary data through distributing questionnaires to car exhibition visitors. The sample used is a probability sampling type through random sampling technique with Slovin calculations. This study used a sample of 85 visitors. The results of the research analysis based on the t-statistic of 1.65 with a significant effect of p-value of 0.049 indicate that sales performance has an effect on sales volume. Based on the results of the promotion t-statistic of 2.740 and a significance level of p-value of 0.003, promotions have an effect on sales volume, and prices with a t-statistic of 5.145 with a significance level of p-value of 0.000, so prices have an effect on sales volume. Each indicator has a significant influence and has its own significance measure. New strategies that can be suggested for sales volume problems are to provide training and appreciation for each target achieved by sales consultants; test drive upgrades; provide bonuses in the form of free service and oil changes, free features such as dash cams and coatings; digital marketing with interesting content through social media; provide lower down payments.
