Abstract

Bearing Damage Analysis on the Installation Process using the Envelope Analysis Method aims to produce alternative scientific sources and even new scientific sources in the future for both the needs of workshops and the needs of industrial machines that require bearings with a high level of precision, such as boiler machines, chillers etc. After carrying out the envelope analysis method, namely performing a bandpass filter in the range of 500 Hz – 2000 Hz, rectification, and FFT, it can be concluded that the method is not clear enough to show the peaks caused by damage to the rolling bearings. Although there are several peaks that are close to the Bearing Fundamental Frequency, they have relatively smaller amplitudes compared to other peaks under conditions of external track damage, rolling elements, and combination damage. And in the analysis of this installation so that it can be used by industry and people who usually use bearings in installation so that they can find out a good and correct installation so that the bearing does not get damaged quickly, it uses the type of installation and shaft with what tolerances so that the bearing used is durable or resistant. long and also so that the machine used does not have many obstacles in the process of use.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of alkali concentration on the thermal properties of HDPE composites with water hyacinth and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). The method used in this study is the experimental method. Composites made of natural fiber filler, the alkali treated water hyacinth. The water hyacinth was also filled was treated in alkali solution at various concentration (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%). In addition to using water hyacinth fiber, the carbon nanotube (CNT) in a matrix of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The composites were made using Rheomix OS machine. Furthermore, thermal testing of composite specimens using machine Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) were conducted. The results obtained from testing the thermal properties is the thermal resistance value. Thermal resistance of composites with alkali treatment of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% were 258,9 0C, 259,5 0C, 260,3 0C, 264,0 0C, and 265,9 0C, respectly. Based on these results it can be concluded that the concentration of NaOH improves the thermal resistance of the composite.

Abstract

Woodworking vise is one of the tools to support the work process or practice at an institute that can be found on a daily basis. In general, the vise is made of castings. Seeing that to make the process of making vise easier, especially wooden vise using raw materials from 15 mm thick plate and iron. So based on the analysis of the problems above, the author tries to make a wooden work vise to meet these needs. This vise propulsion is planned to still use a manual process that is adjusted to the needs of consumers. The result of this final project is to produce a design and working drawing of a modification of a wooden vise. The resulting vise has a strong and anti-rust construction and has a diameter of ± length x width x height 442x 248 x 124 mm. Previously it was necessary to plan, design and manufacture appropriate vise components, easy to obtain, inexpensive and in accordance with the needs of craftsmen. This tool may be difficult to find in the market. The design system used is the VDI 2221 method, created by Gerhardt Pahl and Wolfgang Beits with the title "Engineering Design". The result that must be achieved is the cost of making 300-400 thousand with better production results. then after testing this tool works well and the cost of making it is cheaper.

Abstract

Environmental comfort is one of the important aspects in the world of education, one of which is the manufacture of park benches and chairs. Making garden benches and chairs is made by designing a picture of the product you want to make, then selecting a suitable material, then taking measurements, cutting the material. Then the material is assembled and welded. The production cost used in making this product is Rp. 1.072.000 and has a selling price of Rp. 1.400.000.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a lot of users of motorized vehicles, this is because the level of consumer need to have a motorized vehicle is very high. Cars are one of the favorite vehicles for Indonesian citizens. Because cars provide more comfort and security and now many cars are becoming luxury goods. So many people are turning to cars as their everyday vehicles. Many people want to own a car but at a cost that is not too high, namely by buying a used car. This is where used cars usually have various problems, especially in the engine and exhaust emissions that are not up to standard, therefore it is necessary to repair the car engine. In this study contains about Toyota Kijang 4K valve adjustment variations which have engine problems. To study this study there are two methods used, namely the first is the primary method obtained from direct practice and observation. The second is the secondary method, namely the method taken from internal data and external data. This research data collection resulted from variations in the valve gap ex 0.30mm valve in 0.15mm, valve ex 0.30mm valve in 0.20mm and valve ex 0.30mm valve in 0.25 at engine speed of 1000 rpm, 1500 rpm, rpm 2000, 3000 rpm, and 3500 rpm. The conclusion from the results of this study is that there is a significant effect of valve adjustment on exhaust gas emissions on a 1300cc 4k 4 cylinder 1300cc stand engine OHV type.

Abstract

PT. STAR COMGISTIC INDONESIA is a company engaged in household electronics production field that makes 3 types of electronic products namely cooking utensils, electric iron and coffee pot. In the production process must pay attention to the quality at each stage in order to get the best production results optimal. Internship practice shows that the process of making a product that used in the production process must be done carefully and activities according to the existing standard operating procedures (SOP), so that the results of production can be of good quality or the results of production get good results optimal. The internship that was carried out at PT STAR COMGISTIC INDONESIA was on repair molding field. (molding) basically consists of two parts, namely the stationary part of the mold (stationary platen) in which the molten polymer is deposited, and the movable platen on the cover side or ejector side of a injection molding parts.Repair molding is a work in which repairing mold or mold that is damaged or needs maintenance, repair mold is done so that the mold can work properly. After done repair, when the molding is damaged before being repaired then the result production becomes defective or imperfect, for results from before being repaired and after fixing there is already an image in the testing section, for this case it is hoped that the mold can work as before it was damaged so that the product produced from the mold to produce an optimal product.

Abstract

Air circulation needed to meet comfort standards in classrooms with artificial cooling systems (Air Conditioning) to achieve thermal comfort (Thermal comport), Thermal comfort is one aspect that must be considered when designing a classroom. because at the time of learning there is an accumulation of heat and humidity of the air that will make the room uncomfortable. This research focuses on using the Simulation Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) method in the classrooms of Nusa Putra Sukabumi University. Simulation using Flovent 10.1 software, the simulated room is a B3D classroom on the 3rd floor of building B of Nusa Putra University which measures 10.15 m x 4.8 m x 3.25 m. The main purpose of this study is to find out the influence of inlet temperature on artificial cooling systems. Through simulation can predict efficiently and effectively setting the temperature inlet of the most optimal artificial cooling system. In the simulation conducted 5 variations, the result is the most ineffective temperature in variation 1, variation 2 and variation 3 at room temperature 16.32 °C – 20.06 °C, belongs to the category of too cold which means the room is uncomfortable. While the room with inlet temperature variation 4 and variation 5 temperature between 21.34 °C – 22.59 °C belongs to the category of comfortable cool based on the thermal comfort standard SNI 03-6572-2001.

Abstract

The design of the elephant grass chopper machine to make it easier for cattle breeders to chop elephant grass quickly and efficiently. This elephant grass chopper/machine serves to chop elephant grass into pieces. The process of designing this elephant grass chopper machine or tool includes several stages, namely image design, material selection, measurement, cutting, welding formation, painting and the last is the finishing process. In the process of designing a machine or tool for chopping elephant grass, basically the materials used are plate iron, elbow iron and axle iron. The material is used because it is adjusted to the needs of the object to be made, then the material is measured to be cut using a cutting wheel cutting machine, the use of this machine serves to obtain good cutting results. After the material is cut, the next process is welding and assembling the material. In this process the welding used is SMAW welding. The last stage is the finishing process. In this process, objects that have been formed or finished are ground, sanded and puttyed to flatten the parts of the former welding process. The dimensions of this elephant grass chopper are 1000mm high, 750mm long and 600mm wide. It has a 1HP dynamo motor as its driving force with a speed of 1400 Rpm.

Abstract

Coconut plants are very abundant natural resources and useful for humans. One of the benefits of coconut plants is: coconut flesh which is the raw material for coconut milk which is generally used as food preparations. In general, the process of squeezing coconut milk is still using a manual extortion process, so it requires energy and time which is quite long. To overcome this, it is necessary to design a machine efficient coconut milk squeezer, this machine is designed using materials that economical so that it can be reached by all people, especially those who have a culinary business. This coconut milk squeezer works on the principle of the system rotate, the grated coconut meat is placed in a tube in the machine, at that time the coconut meat will be rotated at high speed so that The liquid coconut milk contained in the coconut meat is separated from the coconut meat. Motorcycle the driving force used is an electric motor, the power on the electric motor will transmitted from the rotation of the pully motor through the v-belt to the pully and the shaft which moved. The extortion process is carried out by pressing the on button so that the tube will rotate automatically. Coconut meat in the tube will not be damaged because there is no pressing process when the engine is rotating.

Abstract

A mini wood lathe is a fairly simple machine, and one of the tools to shape various kinds of wood into a work of art is like making a chess piece. The most important parts are the electric motor, fixed head, loose head, retainers and propulsion unit, but until now there are still many wood industry entrepreneurs who still use makeshift tools so that the results are not optimal. Realizing these conditions, an effort is needed to create a mini wood lathe that is good and can be used to improve their production process. From the planning calculations carried out, and obtained a dimension of this mini wood lathe is 350mm high, 950mm long and 300mm wide which includes a cylindrical shaft with a diameter of 25mm which is also connected as a fixed head using a 13mm drill chuck, transmission pulley bearings, V-belt, 1.5 HP dynamo motor with a motor speed of 1500 rpm, with a workpiece capacity of 200mm diameter and 800mm length, and a frame as a holder for these components.
