Abstract

The study of the effect of the weight fraction of the filler on the PANi/n-SiO2 composite was carried out in a high salinity medium. Nanosilica (n-SiO2) was synthesized from amorphous silica coprecipitation of Bancar Tuban natural sand using calcination method at 900oC for 6 hours. The synthesized nanosilica was mixed with paint using a variation of filler weight 0.25; 0.5; and 0.75 grams, then coated on SS304 steel. Corrosion experiments consist of two methods, namely polarization to determine the corrosion rate and immersion to identify corrosion products. The experimental results show that the PS50 sample has the lowest rate of 1.04x10-5 mpy

Abstract

Mixer blade is one of the tools used in the cement industry as a tool to mix the composition of raw cement into ready-to-use cement. However, in its use, damage is often caused when the mixing process takes place, there is material that is too hard and makes the blade break. Based on these problems, the author made a study entitled "Analysis of the Difference in Impact Strength of Mixer Blade Materials Due to the Heat Treatment Process". This study aims to determine the difference in impact strength received by the mixer blade material after the heat treatment process. The Heat Treatment processes carried out are Quenching, Carburizing, and Tempering. The method used in this research is the experimental method. The process of making specimens is carried out in the UPI Mechanical Engineering Education Design Production lab. The Heat Treatment process is carried out at the POLMAN Manufacturing Process Lab. And for the process of testing material properties, it is carried out at the Metallurgical Lab of UPI Mechanical Engineering Education. The material of this mixer blade is low carbon steel so that the carburizing process is chosen. The carburizing process was carried out with a carburizing medium (carburizer) a mixture of 60% coconut shell charcoal and 40% NaCo3 (weight ratio) at a temperature of 850°C and held for 90 minutes. Cooling is done by storing the specimen in the furnace so that cooling is slow. Followed by a tempering process at a temperature of 500°C and held for 60 minutes and carried out a quenching process with free air. There is a difference in the impact strength of the object from 1.84 J/mm2 to 0.81 J/mm2 and a difference in surface hardness from 85.67 HRB to 92.83 HRB.

Abstract

The clutch spring (spring compression) serves to press the pressure plate so that the clutch lining is close to the clutch plate, so that the clutch does not slip. In addition, the clutch spring also functions to relieve the pressure between the clutch lining and the clutch plate. The force or load applied to the original spring is 2.02 N, and the force applied to the TDR spring is 2.5 N. Load analysis to determine stress and strain using Autodesk inventor software. The simulation results can be concluded that the stress (Stress) that occurs in the standard spring is the largest (Maximum Stress) occurs in the YY vector direction with a value of 37.56 MPa, and the smallest stress (Minimum Stress) occurs in the YY vector direction with value -57.21 MPa. While the stress that occurs in the TDR spring is the largest (Maximum Stress) in the direction of the YY vector with a value of 33.49 MPa, and the smallest stress (Minimum Stress) occurs in the direction of the YY vector with a value of -31.22 MPa. The largest strain (Maximum Strain) occurs in the YY vector direction with a value of 2.45 ul, and the smallest stress (Minimum Strain) occurs in the YY vector direction with a value of -3.61 ul . While the strain (Strain) that occurs in the TDR spring is the largest (Maximum Strain) occurs in the direction of the YZ vector with a value of 1.757 ul, and the smallest stress (Strain) (Minimum Strain) occurs in the direction of the YY vector with a value of -1.863 ul.

Abstract

Washing is an activity that is done every day by housewives, young people, and is done by anyone, so it takes time to do washing activities, especially housewives who have so many jobs at home that washing is quite a heavy job for housewives. ladder. The design of the application of the CVT Vario 110 on a mechanical driving washing machine with a maximum capacity of 7 kg is expected to be a solution to the problems of housewives in washing. The method used in this research is by design, Design Analysis and continued with the fabrication process of the design results, and testing the washing machine that has been made. The results of the calculation of washing and drying rotations at the front sprocket are 91.6 rpm, the rear sprocket is 436.3 rpm, and the tube rotation is 127.1 rpm. Then tested using a tachometer with the results of testing the front sprocket 86.3 rpm, rear sprocket 294.6 rpm, primary pulley (CVT) 294.6 rpm, secondary pulley (CVT) 145.5 rpm, and tube (tube) 127, 1 rpm. Based on the test results, this washing machine is capable of washing up to a capacity of 7 kg so it is suitable for use in helping housewives wash their jobs.

Abstract

This research was made as a refinement of various research on fire fighting robots, which in this research emphasizes the value of improvement from electronic and mechanical designs, this robot is not controlled by anything either by remote control or by joystick, this robot moves itself from the truck. fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire based on the sensitivity of the existing sensor in detecting the presence of a fire point, as well as the navigation system that the robot has in the form of a proximity sensor, this sensor keeps the robot able to move without obstacles in the form of walls or other objects that block the robot's pace. . In this research analysis and calculations will be carried out about the design of the equipment that will be needed. The data used are data sourced from primary or secondary data from available data from several manufacturers of the equipment needed. Based on the data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the robot equipment from time to time will continue to experience changes and / or improvements.

Abstract

The effect of aging on the mechanical characteristics of PVC/CPE mixtures was investigated in this study. The relationship between aging time and material properties was investigated including tensile, flexural, and hardness tests used to assess the mechanical properties. The results revealed that the PVC and CPE polymers were partially thermodynamically compatible. At the sample drop-out point, the variation between the original sample and the aged sample appears. All samples were subjected to UV test (3 types). The results of all mechanical and UV tests showed that the strength of the aged samples was reduced, but this was only a minor change.

Abstract

Pressure vessel is a container for a fluid, both liquid fluid and pressurized gas. In designing a pressure vessel, there are several things that must be considered, namely the stress that appears on the vessel wall due to the pressure caused by the fluid in the vessel, the weight of the vessel itself, or due to pressure arising from external factors. The process of making pressure vessels is carried out using the rolling process and the assembly welding process. The welding process must be considered based on the level of density, leakage and at the same strength. Planning the welding procedure to be carried out on the pressure vessel, the first welding process carried out is Head, Shell 1 body, Shell 2 Body, Shell 3 cone, Shell 4 cone, and Bottom Plate. The material to be used is SA 516 GR 70 according to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) section II D. Welding process using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), welding connection planning, welding parameters and everything related to the welding process is determined and summarized on WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) based on ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) section IX. Testing on the welding results is carried out in several stages starting from the penetrant test, radiography test, peneumatic test, and hydrostatic test. The test is carried out to determine the quality of the welding results. Then an analysis of the results of the welding that has been tested is carried out to really know the quality of the standardization used. Based on the results of several stages of testing on the GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) welding process with the standardization used, there are still defects in the welding results.

Abstract

In each study, often many variables are used and interrelated with each other. The increasing number of variables often confuses which variables are the most dominant for changes or desired results.Many methods are used to find the most dominant variable in influencing the research output.Factorial 2 3design with estimated effects of Yates algorithm is a method that can be used to find the most dominant variable in influencing output. This study aims to find the most dominant variable on the output pressure generated by the hydram pump. The results calculated using this method are the result of flow simulations in pumps with CFD [1]. Variables used are valve opening, a height of the water flow, and valve type. The greater the velocity of water flow in the drive pipe, the greater the flow rate of the water in the delivery pipe and the flow rate of the pressure valve. The drag coefficient of the ball valve press model is smaller than the valve press plate model, so it requires a smaller force to open and close the valve. In accordance with the valve on the hydram pump which requires the process of opening and closing the valve must be fast so that it can provide better performance [2]. The simulation results also show that the most optimal step valve press length is at the valve opening-diameter ratio of 0.16. This research is expected to provide input on the design of the hydram pump in the future

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to make it easier for farmers to harvest sorghum and avoid crop failure due to lack of supporting technology to produce ready-to-sell sorghum seeds. The method used in the process of designing the machine with the engineering process, namely the activity of designing a sorghum thresher machine, a miniature sorghum thresher machine was successfully designed with the main components: Hopper, threshing unit, threshing room, driving motor, frame, seed outlet and sorghum panicle. And with a machine capacity capable of threshing 10kg/hour sorghum seeds with a rotation speed of 2800rpm.

Abstract

To facilitate grating and maintain hygiene and increase grating capacity in households and small industries, tools or coconut grating machines have been made, many coconut grater machines are designed or made with various models and prices vary. One of the designs or designs circulating in the market is a grate engine that uses a motorized engine with gasoline fuel. This machine is designed in such a way as to increase safety for users, speed up the coconut grating process, increase capacity, and maintain the hygiene of grated coconut. However, coconut grating machine tools for household and small industries are still relatively expensive. In this design a tool is made with a redesign of the mini coconut grater machine to reduce material costs and manufacturing costs. Make changes to shape and dimensions for frames and supports. Besides that, there are also changes to engine components with household-scale electric motors with a power of 220 volts.
