Abstract

Phenomenon/Issue: The Fourth Industrial Revolution requires employees to adapt rapidly to technological changes, shifting from manual to digital work environments Purpose: To analyze the influence of digital competence on employee agility through task autonomy, based on the Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA) Novelty: The integration of digital competence and task autonomy within the framework of TWA to explain employee agility—a relatively unexplored relationship in the context of administrative staff in higher education institutions Research Methods: Explanatory quantitative approach using questionnaires distributed to 146 administrative staff at the State University of Surabaya. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling). Results: The study found that digital competence significantly enhances employee agility. It also positively influences task autonomy, which in turn has a significant impact on employee agility. Moreover, task autonomy effectively mediates the relationship between digital competence and employee agility, highlighting its crucial role in supporting employees' adaptability in a digital work environment Research Contributions: Provides empirical support for the importance of enhancing digital competence and task autonomy to improve employee agility in response to digital transformation, particularly within the context of public university administration in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate how teacher leadership, through the Teacher Mover program, influences educational outcomes in elementary schools. The study seeks to understand the relationships between teacher leadership, professional development, school culture, emotional intelligence, and student-centered leadership, and how these factors collectively contribute to improved student performance and engagement. Novelty: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of the Teacher Mover program, a leadership initiative unique to the Indonesian educational context. It offers new insights into how emotional intelligence and professional development mediate the effects of teacher leadership on school culture and student outcomes, which are often underexplored in similar educational leadership studies. Research Methods: This qualitative study used in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis to collect data from Teacher Movers, principals, and teachers at selected elementary schools. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis, with NVivo software used to organize emerging patterns. Results: The findings indicate that teacher leadership significantly improves educational outcomes by fostering a collaborative school culture, enhancing teacher efficacy through professional development, and promoting student-centered approaches. Emotional intelligence was found to be crucial in navigating leadership challenges and fostering positive relationships. Research Contributions: This research offers practical recommendations for educational leaders by highlighting the importance of teacher leadership, professional development, and emotional intelligence in school improvement. It also contributes to the growing body of literature on distributed leadership and its positive impact on educational outcomes.

Abstract

Phenomenon/Issue: Indonesia’s cultural diversity presents challenges for implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in primary schools, where a standardized curriculum often limits the inclusion of students' cultural backgrounds. Purpose: This study aims to explore the understanding, practices, and challenges faced by teachers in implementing CRT in Indonesian primary schools and to identify opportunities for improvement. Novelty: While CRT has been widely studied in Western contexts, research on its application in Indonesia’s unique multicultural setting is limited, particularly at the primary school level. This study contributes new insights into how CRT can be adapted and applied in Indonesian classrooms. Research Methods: A qualitative case study approach was employed, involving interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and focus group discussions with students from both urban and rural schools. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The study found that while teachers recognize the importance of CRT, they face significant challenges, including a rigid national curriculum, lack of culturally relevant materials, and insufficient training. However, students respond positively to culturally inclusive practices, and teachers are open to further training and resources.

Abstract

Phenomenon/Issue: The integration of local cultural values in primary education, known as ethnopedagogy, faces challenges in effectively engaging students while preserving cultural identity and promoting character development. Purpose: This study aims to explore the impact of the ethnopedagogical approach on student engagement, cultural awareness, and character development in primary schools. Novelty: This research highlights the effectiveness of ethnopedagogy in fostering cultural identity and moral values among young learners, providing new insights into how local wisdom can be systematically integrated into formal education. Research Methods: The study employed a qualitative approach, using interviews with teachers, classroom observations, and document analysis to gather data on how ethnopedagogical practices are implemented in primary schools. Results: Findings show that the ethnopedagogical approach significantly enhances student engagement, strengthens cultural identity, and fosters positive character traits such as cooperation, respect, and tolerance. Despite these benefits, challenges remain, particularly in terms of teacher training and resource availability. The study underscores the importance of supporting ethnopedagogical practices to achieve more effective and meaningful education outcomes. Research Contributions: This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the need for equitable resource distribution and comprehensive teacher training. It offers recommendations for policy reforms that can enhance the implementation of multicultural education, particularly in under-resourced regions, to promote inclusivity and social cohesion.

Abstract

Phenomenon/Issue: This research is not only related to WISN to measure the level of workload but how the results of this WISN methodology can be used as an evaluation of the achievement of hospital service quality, especially in this study are hospitals in developing countries. Purpose: This study aims to find out how the application of the WISN method in developing country hospitals in achieving hospital service quality. Novelty:This research only focuses on the results of existing research in developing countries so it cannot be generalized. Research Methods:This study uses the SLR method to collect articles related to the implementation of WISN in developing countries published between 2019 and 2024. Results: The application of the WISN method in hospitals in developing countries is very effective in determining the shortage of labor that results in an increased workload, so that performance is not optimal. Management is needed that can organize or allocate labor according to workload analysis. In addition, to optimize the workforce, it is necessary to carry out training to improve the competence of the workforce, because the quality of the workforce affects the achievement of the quality of hospital services. Research Contributions: With this study, it can be used by hospitals as a consideration in evaluating their health workforce in terms of number and competence.
