Abstract

In strategic management, the most fundamental aspect is to conduct analysis from various perspectives, both internal and external, commonly known as SWOT analysis. Institute of Technology Al-Mahrusiyah (ITAMA) is the institution that established about two years ago and is striving to improve its educational management by using SWOT analysis as one of the methods to plan development steps. The selection of the research location at the Al-Mahrusiyah Institute of Technology is based on a primary consideration, namely the culture or habits in the community regarding the pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) which are very disciplined or strict, especially concerning time or diniyah (religious education) lessons. The factor of studying diniyah while pursuing college presents a unique challenge for ITAMA. Based on the analysis results, conclusions can be drawn. Based on the IFE analysis results; the Strengths score is 2.6 and the Weaknesses score is -2.8. Based on the EFE analysis results, it is known that the Opportunities for ITAMA scored 2.6, while the Threats score -2.4. In this case, ITAMA's position is speculative. From the SWOT quadrant mapping, it is known that ITAMA is in Quadrant III (Weakness–Opportunities). Based on the research findings, strategies for improving the quality of education at ITAMA have not yet been contextual and adaptive to the unique challenges faced by students, particularly regarding the balance between diniyah activities and technology courses. One indicator of the success of the SWOT analysis implementation can be seen from the increasing number of students who apply and are accepted at this institute.

Abstract

This study sought to explore how engagement-oriented learning processes support students’ more profound understanding and sustained knowledge retention, thereby offering contributions to both educational theory and practice. A quantitative approach was applied to examine the determinants of perceived learning. The study encompassed 386 students selected from a total population of 7,261 students. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Squares (PLS) technique to investigate the relationships among three latent constructs: deep learning approach, student learning engagement, and perceived learning. The findings revealed that the deep learning approach significantly influenced perceived learning and had a substantial effect on student learning engagement. Additionally, student learning engagement was found to affect perceived learning significantly. With regard to indirect effects, the results showed that the deep learning approach affected perceived learning through student learning engagement. These results indicate that deep learning strategies not only directly enhance perceived learning but also indirectly strengthen it by promoting higher levels of student engagement, highlighting the mediating role of student learning engagement.

Abstract

Conventional academic supervision in Madrasah environments often faces sociological barriers such as subjectivity bias and a rigid culture of seniority. This study aims to analyze the role of digital leadership through the implementation of a web-based supervision system in mitigating these barriers and enhancing teacher professionalism. Employing a qualitative case study approach at MAS Ulumuddin, the research explores how the digitalization of instruments transforms leadership oversight dynamics. Findings indicate that the web-based system effectively differentiates between managerial and academic domains, shifting leadership focus from physical bureaucracy to substantive professional dialogue. Score automation proved effective in reducing the psychological barriers of leaders toward senior teachers, transforming hierarchical-personal relationships into data-driven partnerships and reflections. The integration of the Glickman Model into the digital system enables precise teacher typology mapping to determine adaptive coaching styles whether directive, collaborative, or non-directive. The research novelty lies in the repositioning of technology as a sociological mediator that neutralizes interpersonal friction within the organization. The model's success relies heavily on three pillars of digital leadership: technical proficiency, database management, and a humanistic approach. The study offers a prototype for modern, accountable Madrasah governance through the synergy of infrastructure and human resource change management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational planning at Pesantren Al-Mardiyyatul Islamiyyah, a Salafiyah pesantren that has adopted innovations in its curriculum by integrating religious education with practical skills such as entrepreneurship and information technology. The research was conducted through interviews with the head of the pesantren, curriculum managers, and teachers, as well as field observations and document analysis. The findings revealed that although the pesantren has made efforts to integrate digital skills into the curriculum, limited resources, such as technological facilities and teacher training, are the main barriers to full implementation. Stakeholder involvement in educational planning at Pesantren Al-Mardiyyatul Islamiyyah was found to be adequate, although some other pesantren do not engage all relevant parties. Data-driven evaluation, however, was not fully implemented, hindering the accurate measurement of educational planning success. The study recommends the development of a more relevant curriculum, enhanced technological facilities, and the implementation of data-driven evaluation systems to improve the quality of education. Prospects for further research include the implementation and testing of the proposed solutions to optimize the use of technology in pesantren education.
