Abstract

This study examines the determinants of innovative work behavior among employees of digital micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), focusing on the roles of entrepreneurial leadership and digital mindset. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, with data collected from 120 employees of digital MSMEs in East Java Province. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that entrepreneurial leadership does not have a statistically significant direct effect on innovative work behavior. However, entrepreneurial leadership significantly influences employees’ digital mindset, which in turn has a positive and significant effect on innovative work behavior. Furthermore, mediation analysis reveals that digital mindset mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and innovative work behavior, with an indirect effect of 0.060, indicating full mediation. These results suggest that the influence of entrepreneurial leadership on innovative work behavior operates primarily through cognitive mechanisms rather than direct effects. From a theoretical perspective, this study extends social learning theory by demonstrating the central role of digital mindset in linking leadership and innovation within technology-driven work environments. From a practical perspective, the findings highlight the importance for leaders of digital MSMEs to foster employees’ digital mindset as a strategic means of enhancing sustainable, innovative work behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of managerial capability and community participation on the success of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency, Indonesia. BUMDes are expected to serve as key drivers of rural economic development through the management of local potential; however, their performance remains uneven across regions. This study adopts a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression with qualitative insights from in-depth interviews. Data were collected from 96 respondents representing various BUMDes. The findings indicate that managerial capability has a significant positive effect on BUMDes success, particularly in planning, decision-making, and financial management. Community participation also demonstrates a significant positive influence, as involvement in planning and program evaluation strengthens community ownership and social support. Furthermore, the combined effect of managerial capability and community participation reveals a synergistic relationship that enhances BUMDes effectiveness and sustainability. This study contributes to the rural enterprise literature by highlighting the complementary roles of managerial competence and participatory governance. Practically, the findings emphasize the need to strengthen managerial capacity and institutionalize inclusive community engagement to support sustainable BUMDes development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategic role of IT capability in improving human resource performance through organizational learning and smart working. In the context of digital transformation, organizations must not only adopt technology but also learn how to utilize information technology to support flexible and adaptive work patterns. This study investigates how IT capability functions as a strategic capability that promotes smart working and strengthens organizational learning to enhance performance. This quantitative approach research administered a survey to 139 employees of the Roudlotul Mubtadi’in Educational Foundation, which was implementing an electronic work system. The findings indicate that IT capability significantly influences human resource performance both directly and indirectly through smart working. The results confirm that smart working serves as an important operational mechanism that integrates technological capability with performance outcomes. Although organizational learning does not directly affect performance, it helps establish the foundation for flexible organizational capabilities, which in turn can enhance adaptability and responsiveness to changing market conditions. Overall, the findings suggest that IT capability functions as a strategic factor in enhancing human resource performance in the digital era, particularly when organizations combine it with smart working and organizational learning.
