Abstract

This review aims to determine the learning difficulties experienced by class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kwandang in understanding Groups and Mathematical Series which are estimated by signs of student learning difficulties. The strategy used is enlightening. The sampling procedure uses direct irregular examination, and the strategy for collecting information is to provide a trial of learning outcomes as an explanation that alludes to 3 signs of learning difficulties, namely calculated difficulty, guideline difficulty and functional challenge. The results showed that the level of students' learning difficulties was in the middle class. Many students were able to complete the narrative according to signs of learning difficulties. Students who have difficulty dealing with word problems due to a lack of understanding of the material and how to solve it. The lack of ability to answer questions and practice the material assisted requires techniques and systems to limit the difficulties experienced by students.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the sources and causes of learning difficulties in mathematics among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Telaga during online learning. A descriptive research method was employed, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The results revealed an average difficulty percentage of 53.40%, with the majority falling into the medium category. Unstable network conditions were identified as the primary source of difficulties (63.91%), while limited interaction and delivery of material were the main causes (59.06%). These findings provide valuable insights for teachers and schools in designing more effective online mathematics learning strategies.

Abstract

Various limitations such as teacher availability, classroom space, lesson time, and subject load. At MTs. Nurul Islam Bumiharjo, the schedule preparation process is still done manually, which often causes schedule conflicts and suboptimal use of resources. This study aims to optimize the preparation of lesson schedules by applying the Integer Linear Programming (ILP) method, one of the techniques in operations research that is able to handle scheduling problems with many constraints. The ILP model is designed to minimize overlapping teacher and room schedules, and to ensure the distribution of lesson hours according to curriculum standards. The primary data used is the 2024/2025 school year lesson schedule. The results of the study show that the ILP model is able to produce a more efficient and less conflicting schedule solution than the manual method. Thus, this approach can be a strategic alternative in a data-based school scheduling system.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical reasoning abilities through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the topic of relations and functions. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in a single cycle. The subjects were 28 students from class VIII-6 at SMP Negeri 2 Limboto in the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques included teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and a mathematical reasoning ability test. The results indicate that the application of the PBL model effectively enhanced students’ mathematical reasoning. This is evidenced by: (1) the average percentage of teacher activity observations reaching 82% in the good category; (2) the average percentage of student activity observations reaching 83% in the good category; and (3) the average score of the mathematical reasoning test reaching 83. These findings suggest that the PBL model is effective in improving students’ reasoning abilities in learning mathematical relations and functions.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the production of Pia Cendana enterprise using a linear programming model based on the Branch and Bound method. In order to achieve maximum profit, a mathematical formulation is constructed, including an objective function and constraint functions based on data regarding raw material composition, resource availability, production costs, and selling prices of each product variant. The Branch and Bound method was applied to obtain an optimal solution in the form of integers that are operationally valid. In addition, a sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the impact of changes in coefficients within the objective function and constraints on the optimal solution. The findings show that the Pia Cendana enterprise can achieve an optimal profit of IDR 1,620,000 or 1.86 % per month. This amount is higher than the previous actual profit of only IDR 86,888,000, indicating a profit increase of IDR 88,508,000. The study indicates that this method improves resource efficiency and yields more profitable production. The optimal solution demonstrates that production can be increased while still considering capacity and raw material limitations. The sensitivity analysis also proves that the model is sufficiently stable against parameter variations. This study provides practical contributions to Pia Cendana enterprise in formulating more efficient and profitable production strategies.
