The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The article examines models of national-gender space in Russian and Uzbek prose from a comparative typological perspective. Particular attention is paid to the artistic representation of gender roles shaped by national cultural traditions and historical development. Based on the analysis of Russian and Uzbek literary works, both common and distinctive features of national-gender models are identified. The study reveals that Russian prose is primarily focused on the inner world of the individual and personal identity, whereas Uzbek prose emphasizes family values and collective responsibility. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of national-gender space as an important component of the artistic worldview.

Abstract

This article examines the representation of selected Uzbek folk lexemes in explanatory dictionaries from a lexicographic and historical-semantic perspective. Special attention is paid to the lexeme alp, which occupies an important place in the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples. The study analyzes the interpretation of this lexeme in Old Turkic, Chagatai, explanatory, etymological, and electronic dictionaries and identifies the main directions of its semantic development. Comparative analysis shows that the core seme of heroism has remained stable from the eleventh century to the present, while its lexicographic interpretation has varied depending on the type and purpose of the dictionary. The article highlights the relationship between semantic stability and lexicographic description and demonstrates how historical, cultural, and cognitive factors influence dictionary definitions. The findings reveal that the lexeme alp functions not only as a linguistic unit but also as a cultural concept reflecting bravery, courage, social prestige, and moral excellence. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the identification of a four-component model consisting of definition, explanation, example, and etymological note, which enables a unified comparison of dictionary entries across different historical periods. The results contribute to the fields of historical lexicology, lexicography, and Turkic studies and provide a basis for further research on the representation of folk lexicon in Uzbek dictionaries.

Abstract

This article examines the growing significance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the development, organization, and dissemination of modern scientific research. ICT has become an essential component of contemporary research practices, enabling scholars to collect, process, store, and analyze data with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The paper highlights how digital tools, online databases, computational methods, and communication platforms have transformed traditional research paradigms by expanding access to scientific information, facilitating international collaboration, and improving research efficiency. Special attention is given to the impact of ICT on methodological innovation, including data-driven research models, simulation technologies, virtual laboratories, and advanced analytical software. The study also addresses challenges associated with ICT integration, such as digital inequality, cybersecurity risks, information overload, and ethical concerns. Overall, the paper emphasizes that ICT not only accelerates scientific progress but also reshapes the epistemological and organizational foundations of research activities. Effective integration of ICT is therefore crucial for ensuring transparency, productivity, and global competitiveness in scientific inquiry.

Abstract

Current computational processing of Uzbek language is delayed by the limitations of "black-box" statistical architectures in handling high-density agglutinative morphology. While neural models excel in analytic languages, they face a definitive "Out-of-Vocabulary (OOV) glass ceiling" when confronted with the generative capacity of Uzbek suffixation. This paper introduces a high-precision, rule-based morphological analyzer built upon Uzbek-Lex, a gold-standard lexicon of 83,646 entries mapped to Universal Dependencies (UD) v2 standards. Our system explicitly models linguistic "stress points," including 7,370 verbal nouns and 777 multi-category roots, utilizing deterministic syntactic constraints for disambiguation. Empirical benchmarking against the Stanza Uzbek model demonstrates a reduction in the OOV rate from 15.0% to 5.8%. These results suggest that for morphologically rich, low-resource languages, deterministic linguistic verification is a scientific necessity for high-fidelity dependency parsing.

Abstract

In recent years, the concept of linguoculture has been widely used in the modern world. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the linguocultural aspects of the lexical unit “hospitality,” which occupies an important place in English linguoculture. Particular attention is paid to its semantic features as the main focus of the study. The research examines how the concept of hospitality is reflected in the national values, traditions, customs, and communicative behavior of English-speaking people. In addition, the lexical meanings of this unit are explored in detail. The findings demonstrate that the concept of “hospitality” should not be viewed solely as the act of welcoming guests. Rather, it represents an important cultural value associated with respect, politeness, tolerance, sincerity, and the strengthening of social relationships. Furthermore, the article highlights both the common and distinctive features of hospitality in English and Uzbek linguocultures through a comparative perspective, emphasizing its role in intercultural communication.

Abstract

This article examines the methodology of teaching hedging devices in academic writing to B2-level students of English as a foreign language. Hedging is treated as a central feature of academic discourse because it helps writers make claims carefully, avoid overgeneralization, and present arguments in a balanced manner. Main forms of hedging are briefly discussed. It argues that B2-level learners often write overly direct statements because they have limited awareness of academic stance. A gradual teaching model is proposed, including awareness-raising, noticing, controlled practice, guided writing, peer feedback, and independent production.

Abstract

The present study investigates the mechanisms for developing methodological training of future informatics teachers within the system of higher pedagogical education. The research identifies the structural components of methodological competence, examines existing barriers in the preparation process, and proposes a set of coherent mechanisms aimed at enhancing future teachers' readiness to design and deliver high-quality informatics instruction. The mechanisms examined include curriculum restructuring based on competency frameworks, mentoring and reflective practice systems, interdisciplinary collaboration, digital portfolio assessment, and continuous professional development cycles. An experimental study conducted at Namangan State University with 68 student-teachers confirmed that systematic implementation of the proposed mechanisms significantly improves methodological competence indicators compared to conventional preparation approaches. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on teacher education reform in Uzbekistan and offer practical implications for curriculum designers and faculty in pedagogical institutions.
