The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

Within contemporary linguistic scholarship, the notion of concept has emerged as a key object of investigation. Concepts function as fundamental cognitive units that structure human knowledge and shape the perception of reality. Through language, speakers not only represent the external world but also convey the outcomes of their intellectual, cultural, and social experiences. Therefore, the analysis of concepts and linguistic worldviews constitutes a major direction in cognitive linguistics, which focuses on understanding the relationship between language, thought, and cultural consciousness.

Abstract

Abstract. The successful integration of young specialists into educational institutions is considered one of the critical factors influencing educational quality and professional sustainability. The transition from higher education to professional teaching practice is often accompanied by psychological, social, and organizational challenges that may affect job satisfaction, professional identity, and long-term career commitment. The present study examines the psychological adaptation of young specialists within educational institutions and identifies the key factors influencing their adaptation process. The research is based on the analysis of contemporary psychological and pedagogical literature and empirical findings related to novice teachers’ adaptation. The study reveals that professional adaptation is a multidimensional phenomenon encompassing emotional stability, professional competence, social integration, organizational support, and self-efficacy. Findings indicate that mentoring programs, supportive organizational climates, effective communication, and professional development opportunities significantly facilitate successful adaptation. Conversely, excessive workload, role ambiguity, lack of institutional support, and emotional stress contribute to maladaptation. The study emphasizes the necessity of systematic psychological support mechanisms for novice specialists and proposes practical recommendations for educational institutions to strengthen adaptation processes and enhance professional effectiveness.

Abstract

The interaction between language and culture represents one of the central problems of modern linguistics and interdisciplinary humanities research. Contemporary linguistic theory increasingly rejects the idea of language as an autonomous formal system and instead emphasizes its embeddedness in cultural, cognitive, and social contexts. This article examines the theoretical foundations, historical development, and methodological approaches to studying language–culture interaction in modern linguistics. Particular attention is given to linguaculturology, cognitive linguistics, and ethnolinguistics as key frameworks for understanding how cultural meanings are encoded, transmitted, and transformed through language. The article also explores the role of linguistic worldview, cultural concepts, and culturally marked lexical units in shaping human cognition and communication. Finally, it discusses the implications of language–culture interaction for translation studies, intercultural communication, and language education.

Abstract

Abstract; Teacher proficiency is a fundamental determinant of success in English Language Teaching (ELT), particularly in contexts where English is taught as a foreign language. Despite global expansion of English education, many systems continue to face persistent challenges related to teachers’ linguistic competence, communicative ability, and pedagogical effectiveness. These challenges significantly affect classroom interaction and student learning outcomes. Findings indicate that teacher proficiency is shaped by systemic, institutional, and individual factors, including exam-oriented education, limited communicative exposure and insufficient professional development. This article is discussed that sustainable improvement requires reform in teacher education, increased communicative practice, and integration of modern educational technologies.

Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly large language models and neural machine translators, on the development of the modern Russian language. Based on a corpus analysis of Internet discourse, data from explanatory dictionaries of neologisms, and experimental observations of students’ speech behavior, the author identifies the main directions of linguistic change: the emergence of more than 50 new lexical units (prompt, neural network, tokenization, AI hallucination, etc.); syntactic convergence manifested in the spread of elliptical constructions and infinitive phrases typical of user prompts; and the stylistic homogenization of written language under the influence of standardized chatbot responses. The article also examines the risks of declining spelling literacy and critical thinking resulting from excessive reliance on AI assistants. In conclusion, a model of digital linguistic competence is proposed as an essential component of education in the era of generative AI. The article is intended for linguists, Russian language teachers, specialists in digital communication, and researchers in AI ethics.

Abstract

Introduction. Speaking skill is considered one of the most important components of foreign language learning because it allows learners to communicate ideas, emotions, and information effectively. In modern English language teaching, developing speaking ability has become a major educational objective, particularly in communicative language classrooms where interaction and active participation are emphasized. However, many students experience difficulties in speaking English due to lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, limited vocabulary, and insufficient opportunities for real communication. As a result, teachers are required to apply interactive and motivating teaching methods that encourage students to participate actively in oral communication. One of the most effective methods for improving speaking motivation is the use of role-play activities. Role-play refers to classroom activities in which students act out real-life situations by taking different social roles and communicating with one another in English. This method creates a communicative environment that helps learners practice language naturally and meaningfully. Unlike traditional teacher-centered approaches, role-play activities increase student interaction, creativity, and emotional involvement in the learning process. The use of role-play activities is especially important because it reduces students’ anxiety and helps them overcome psychological barriers related to speaking English. Through role-play, learners can simulate everyday communicative situations such as shopping, traveling, visiting a doctor, or participating in job interviews. These practical experiences improve not only linguistic competence but also communicative confidence and fluency. Furthermore, role-play supports the development of pronunciation, vocabulary usage, listening comprehension, and spontaneous speech production. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of role-play activities in motivating students to speak English and improving their communicative abilities. Special attention is given to the pedagogical advantages of role-play, student participation, and classroom interaction in English language learning.

Abstract

Annotation. This article analyzes the artistic expression of British cultural realities, social markers, and linguistic units in the novels of English writer Jojo Moyes. Specifically, through the analysis of her novels "Me Before You," "After You," "One Plus One," and "The Giver of Stars," the article examines class distinctions, speech etiquette, daily life realities, gender stereotypes, and the interpretation of cultural codes from the perspective of translation studies. Comparative-contrastive, contextual-component, and linguocultural analysis methods are employed. As a result, it is determined that in Jojo Moyes' works, national and cultural units not only create the background but also serve as tools for revealing character traits and generating cognitive dissonance.
