Core Subject : Education,
The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

Annotation. This study examines the Persian literary heritage of Alisher Navoi, particularly his Divan-i Fani, within the broader context of manuscript tradition, textual criticism, and editorial history. It traces the development of Navoi’s Persian works from early manuscript sources preserved in Paris, Tehran, and Istanbul to modern critical and annotated editions published in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and other scholarly centers. Special attention is given to the formation, structure, and genre composition of the Divan-i Fani, including ghazals, qasidas (Sittai Zaruriya and Fusuli Arbaa), muammos, rubaiyats, qit’as, and other poetic forms. The study highlights Navoi’s artistic method of tatabbuʿ, tavr, and original composition (mukhtaraʿ and ixtiroʿ), showing his creative engagement with major Persian poets such as Hafez, Saadi, Amir Khusrau Dehlavi, and Abdurahman Jami. The article also compares different textual versions and editions of the Divan-i Fani, identifying variations in manuscript readings, genre statistics, and lexical differences. It evaluates the scholarly contributions of major editors and researchers, including Hamid Sulaymonov and later editorial teams, emphasizing the importance of critical text preparation based on multiple manuscript sources. Overall, the research argues that Navoi’s Persian legacy is a significant part of both Persian and Turkic literary traditions, and that the establishment of a reliable critical edition of the Divan-i Fani remains an ongoing scholarly necessity.

Abstract

Abstract. This article examines the poetics of silence and unspoken emotions in American psychological novellas through a comparative analysis of Sherwood Anderson, Ernest Hemingway, and John Steinbeck. The study investigates how silence functions as a narrative strategy for expressing psychological conflicts, emotional repression, and interpersonal alienation. Drawing upon narratology, psychological criticism, and modernist literary theory, the research explores the role of subtext, omission, and indirect communication in shaping character consciousness. The methodological framework combines comparative-literary, narratological, and textual analysis. The findings demonstrate that silence serves not merely as the absence of speech but as a significant artistic device that conveys hidden emotions and psychological tension. Anderson employs silence to reveal loneliness and isolation, Hemingway utilizes subtext through his “Iceberg Theory,” and Steinbeck uses silence to expose social and emotional conflicts. The study concludes that the poetics of silence constitutes one of the defining features of the American psychological novella and contributes to the development of modern narrative techniques.

Abstract

Abstract. This article analyzes the ways of developing students’ communicative competence in the process of teaching sentence parts in 8th-grade mother tongue lessons at general secondary schools. The study reveals that limiting grammatical knowledge only to theoretical analysis does not sufficiently stimulate students’ speech activity. Based on the communicative approach, interactive methods such as “Fishbone,” “Problem Situation,” “Charxpalak,” and “Find Your Friend” were applied in the lesson process. Through these methods, positive changes were observed in students’ skills of identifying sentence parts, analyzing them based on meaning, and consciously using them in oral and written speech. The obtained results show that teaching sentence parts on a communicative basis contributes to improving students’ speech culture and readiness for communication.

Abstract

The article explores the comparative effectiveness of traditional testing and portfolio-based assessment in secondary English language classrooms. While conventional tests ensure standardization and comparability, they often fail to reflect the multidimensional nature of language competence. Portfolio assessment, in contrast, emphasizes continuous development, learner reflection, and authentic communication. The paper argues that combining both approaches provides a more balanced and pedagogically sound assessment framework.

Abstract

Annotation. The article provides a comprehensive theoretical and practical analysis of intertextuality (intertextual relations) within the framework of modern linguistics, specifically in the fields of text linguistics, linguoculturology, and linguopoetics. The research examines the historical development of the term, tracing its roots from M. Bakhtin's dialogism to J. Kristeva’s formal definition. Special emphasis is placed on N. Fateeva’s classification of intertextual elements, including citations, allusions, and reminiscences. The practical part of the study focuses on the literary heritage of Alisher Navoi, particularly his works such as "Khamsa" and "Tarixi Anbiya wa Hukamo." It demonstrates how the poet masterfully integrated Quranic verses and Hadiths through the art of "iqtibas" (quotation). The author concludes that intertextuality serves as a vital tool for expanding semantic layers and establishing a "cultural dialogue" between the author and the reader.

Abstract

Improvisational practices are examined as a tool for activating the mechanisms of spontaneous speech production in foreign language learning. Psycholinguistic models of speech production (the levels of conceptualisation, formulation and articulation) are compared with theatrical and pedagogical techniques aimed at reducing cognitive control and accelerating reaction times. Examples of tasks for German lessons at levels A2-B1 are provided. The absence of quantitative data in the sources consulted is noted; only verifiable propositions from the scientific tradition are used.

Abstract

Abstract This article explores the unique local and ethnofolklore characteristics of wedding and family-household ceremonial songs in the Surxondaryo oasis of Uzbekistan, utilizing the authentic materials of the regional dissertation. It analyzes the ritualistic, mythological, and poetic dimensions of ceremonies related to childbirth, the cradle period (beshik toyi), circumcision (khatna toyi), and marriage. Unique local phenomena such as the cult of "Tuvgich Momo," the "Qavzoq" masked dance, the "Chanki" women's gathering, and specific wedding customs like "jaloq qizartirar" are thoroughly investigated. Employing an analytical and objective approach, the study evaluates how these traditions reflect the ancient animistic, totemistic, and social worldviews of the oasis population, highlighting their significance as vital monuments of Uzbek cultural heritage while emphasizing the necessity of rigorous scientific verification of oral folklore data.
