The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

Annotation. This article is devoted to the issues of creating a new generation of terminological dictionaries related to fields in the Uzbek and Karakalpak languages. It is well known that the vocabulary and terminological system of languages are constantly enriched, and this process is inextricably linked to the development of science and technology, the expansion of socio-economic and cultural ties, and the development of other fields. Currently, in these fields, along with the terms included in the explanatory dictionaries of the Uzbek and Karakalpak languages, the meanings of which have been explained, there are a number of terms that have not yet been included in dictionaries but are used in communication. This, in turn, leads to a misunderstanding of the meanings of terms or their use without understanding at all. The easiest way to eliminate such a problem is to create explanatory dictionaries of terms related to the fields. We know that such dictionaries cover a large area in terms of volume. Therefore, there is a need for new generation dictionaries that combine the capabilities of modern information technologies and the currently popular artificial intelligence. This article discusses the necessity of such dictionaries and how terms are interpreted in two languages.

Abstract

This study examines the emergence and development of Arabic linguistic scholarship in Khorezm and Transoxiana and analyzes the intellectual legacy of Nasir al‑Mutarrizi. Following the spread of Islam, Arabic became the principal language of religion, scholarship, and administration. As a result, scholars of Central Asia devoted considerable attention to grammar, lexicography, rhetoric, and literary studies. Khorezm emerged as one of the most influential centers of Arabic learning and produced generations of linguists whose works enriched the Arabic grammatical tradition. The article surveys the contributions of major Khorezmian scholars, including al‑Khwarizmi, al‑Biruni, al‑Tabarkhazi, al‑Barqani, Abu Mudar, and al‑Khirasi. Special attention is devoted to al‑Mutarrizi’s life, education, teachers, students, and linguistic writings. The study concludes that the Khorezm school played a decisive role in preserving and developing Arabic linguistic sciences in the medieval Islamic world.

Abstract

The article examines the historical and pedagogical legacy of the prominent Uzbek Jadid enlightener, Abdulla Avloni, through the prism of the challenges posed by the modern information society and the digitalization of preschool education. Based on a comparative analysis, the authors draw a parallel between the classical Jadid principle of visual learning (implemented in new-method textbooks of the early 20th century) and contemporary practices of gamification in preschool educational organizations. The study systematizes and theoretically substantiates three distinct representational patterns of knowledge visualization: the transformation of plot-based modeling (from fables to web quests), the evolution of didactic feedback (from the mentor's approval to instant digital animation), and structural-functional mapping. It is demonstrated that the controlled implementation of interactive media technologies across accessible educational platforms enhances the cognitive activity of senior preschoolers, provided they are strictly integrated with traditional productive activities and comply with the national hygienic regulations of the Republic of Uzbekistan (SanPiN).

Abstract

Abstract: This article investigates the cognitive-metaphorical properties of the concept of “love” in the Uzbek language based on the conceptual metaphor theory developed by J. Lakoff and M. Johnson. The research material includes lexical units from the Explanatory Dictionary of the Uzbek Language and illustrative examples drawn from literary texts. The study demonstrates that the concept of love is structured through several dominant source domains, including PRECIOUS OBJECT, PLANT, FIRE, ILLNESS, and EXCHANGE. Each metaphorical model reveals different semantic dimensions of love, such as value and worth, development and growth, emotional intensity, psychological suffering, and socio-ethical evaluation. The findings indicate that, within Uzbek linguocultural cognition, the concept of love constitutes a multilayered and dynamic cognitive structure formed through systematic metaphorical mappings between abstract emotional experience and concrete source domains.
