The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

Transport communications occupy a system-forming place in the economic relations between Uzbekistan and Iran. As a double-landlocked state, Uzbekistan depends on stable, diversified, and cost-efficient transit routes for access to external markets, whereas Iran offers outlets to the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman - including the ports of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar - and serves as a bridge toward India, the Middle East, Turkey, and Europe. Drawing on recent intergovernmental agreements, corridor initiatives, and analytical studies, this article argues that transport links are evolving from an auxiliary sector into a strategic instrument of trade growth, logistics diversification, industrial cooperation, and broader regional integration. The findings show that the greatest economic gains arise when infrastructure, institutions, and corridor integration advance together.

Abstract

Irony is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon in language use, particularly within the field of pragmatics. This study explores how irony functions as a mechanism for conveying implicit meanings beyond literal interpretation. Drawing on pragmatic theories, including Gricean implicature and relevance theory, the paper examines how speakers use irony to express attitudes, criticism, and humor. The research adopts a qualitative approach, analyzing examples of ironic utterances in natural discourse. The findings suggest that irony plays a significant role in shaping pragmatic meaning and requires both contextual awareness and shared knowledge between interlocutors. The study highlights the importance of irony in communication and its implications for language teaching and comprehension.

Abstract

The systematic transition of global higher education institutions toward the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) represents a fundamental epistemological shift from teacher-centered pedagogies to student-centered academic autonomy. This comprehensive research report investigates the structural, pedagogical, and technological mechanisms required to develop students’ independent learning competencies within the credit-module system (CMS). The study is deeply contextualized within the ongoing educational reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan, driven by national strategic directives such as the “Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System until 2030” and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 824. Under the CMS, independent study constitutes the primary vector of academic labor, accounting for 50% to 70% of a student’s total workload. However, empirical observations indicate that students transitioning from traditional, highly structured educational environments frequently lack the requisite metacognitive, analytical, and digital competencies to navigate this autonomy effectively. Utilizing an advanced mixed-methods research design that encompasses extensive policy document analysis, empirical survey data from diverse university cohorts, and computational data modeling via Python, this report systematically deconstructs the operational realities of the CMS. The findings confirm that independent learning cannot be treated as a passive accumulation of unstructured study hours; it requires deliberate pedagogical engineering. The analysis identifies critical mechanisms for success, including the deployment of comprehensive syllabi acting as learning contracts, the integration of flipped classrooms and project-based learning (PBL), and the utilization of sophisticated Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle and HEMIS. Furthermore, the report critically addresses systemic barriers, including faculty adaptation resistance, the scarcity of native-language academic resources, and the vulnerability of continuous assessment models to academic dishonesty and “scholarship pressure.” Ultimately, the report proposes a multidimensional, data-driven framework designed to optimize independent learning trajectories, ensuring that graduates possess the self-regulated learning capabilities necessary to maintain professional competitiveness in the rapidly evolving global knowledge economy.
