The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

This article analyzes the scientific and pedagogical foundations of the optimal ratio between General Physical Training (GPT) and Special Physical Training (SPT) at the initial stage of sports preparation. The research is based on the theory of sports training, the laws of physiological adaptation, and the developmental characteristics of young athletes. The functional content of GPT and SPT, their influence on the athlete’s organism, and the principles of gradual load progression are scientifically substantiated. The results of the study indicate that the predominance of GPT at the initial stage is a key factor determining the effectiveness of an athlete’s future specialized preparation.

Abstract

Abstract. The rapid integration of digital technologies into higher education has transformed English language teaching (ELT), shifting it from traditional face-to-face instruction to online and blended learning environments. This transformation has created new demands on teachers’ didactic competence, requiring not only linguistic and pedagogical knowledge but also the ability to effectively integrate digital tools into meaningful learning processes. This study investigates the development of teachers’ didactic competence in online English language education, focusing on challenges, essential competencies, and effective professional development strategies.

Abstract

The article analyzes the pedagogical and psychological role of play in the cognitive development of children of early age (from birth to 3 years). The article is based on Jean Piaget's theory of sensorimotor stages of development and Lev Vygotsky's views on the two main directions of play and activity in children's activities. The aim of the article is to determine the effect of manipulative, sensory and exploratory games of early age children on cognitive indicators such as attention, memory, problem solving and understanding of cause-and-effect relationships.

Abstract

The article analyzes the pedagogical potential of game technologies in the formation of emotional intelligence in preschool children. The study is based on the four-branch theoretical model of emotional intelligence developed by Mayer and Salovey, as well as on pedagogical and psychological views on the leading activity of the child in play. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of didactic, plot-role-playing and action games on the skills of recognizing, expressing, understanding and managing emotions in children, as well as to assess the practical training of educators in this regard. The study used pedagogical experimental-testing, observation and questionnaire methods. The results showed that purposefully organized plot-role-playing games and didactic games reflecting emotions expand the emotional vocabulary of children, develop empathy and self-management skills, but this effect is stable only in the presence of conscious pedagogical intervention (scaffolding) of the educator. The article concludes with practical recommendations for the systematic use of gaming technologies to develop emotional intelligence.

Abstract

This article explores the concept of beauty as expressed through the language of poetry, focusing on stylistic and semantic dimensions. Poetry is a unique form of literary expression in which language is manipulated through figurative devices, phonetic structures, and syntactic patterns to evoke aesthetic responses. The study aims to analyze how linguistic elements such as metaphor, imagery, symbolism, and sound patterns contribute to the construction of beauty in poetic texts. Using a qualitative stylistic analysis approach, the paper examines selected poetic examples and theoretical perspectives from linguistics and literary criticism. The findings suggest that beauty in poetry emerges not only from thematic content but also from the intricate interaction between language form and meaning. The study highlights the importance of stylistics as a bridge between linguistics and literature, offering a scientific framework for understanding aesthetic experience in poetic discourse.

Abstract

This study examines the differences between bilingual and monolingual learners in terms of cognitive development, academic performance, language skills, and social competence. Bilingual learners are individuals who use two languages regularly, whereas monolingual learners use only one language. Recent research has shown that bilingualism may provide cognitive advantages such as enhanced problem-solving abilities, greater mental flexibility, and improved attention control. However, bilingual learners may also face challenges related to vocabulary development in each language. This comparative study reviews existing literature and discusses the strengths and limitations of both learner groups. The findings suggest that bilingual learners generally demonstrate stronger executive functioning and intercultural communication skills, while monolingual learners often show greater depth of vocabulary in their single language. The study highlights the importance of educational strategies that support both groups of learners.

Abstract

The teaching of English in higher education has become increasingly important due to globalization, international academic cooperation, and the growing demand for English-language proficiency in the labor market. Universities are expected to prepare students not only with disciplinary knowledge but also with effective communication skills in English. This study examines modern approaches to teaching English in higher education, including communicative language teaching, technology-enhanced learning, task-based instruction, and student-centered methodologies. The paper also explores the challenges faced by educators and learners, such as limited resources, varying proficiency levels, and insufficient opportunities for authentic language practice. The findings suggest that integrating innovative teaching methods and digital technologies can significantly improve students’ language competence and engagement. Furthermore, continuous professional development for teachers and institutional support are essential for successful English language instruction in higher education settings.

Abstract

This article examines F. Scott Fitzgerald's use of the Valley of Ashes in The Great Gatsby (1925) as a sustained and multifaceted symbol of the concealed human and moral costs embedded within the ideology of the American Dream. Drawing upon close textual analysis alongside established critical frameworks in literary symbolism, social critique, and American Studies, this study argues that the Valley of Ashes functions not merely as a geographical backdrop but as an indispensable narrative and ideological counterweight to the opulence of East Egg and West Egg. The industrial wasteland, presided over by the faded eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg on a decaying billboard, embodies the exploitation of the working class, the collapse of moral vision, and the corrosive spiritual bankruptcy that Fitzgerald identified as lying beneath the surface of 1920s prosperity. By situating this symbol within its broader socio-historical context — the rise of consumer capitalism, urbanization, and the myth of meritocratic upward mobility — this article demonstrates how Fitzgerald crafted a profoundly critical portrait of American modernity. The analysis reveals that the Valley of Ashes anticipates later theoretical frameworks concerning class, ideology, and the spectacle of wealth, and that its symbolic resonance remains urgently relevant to contemporary debates about inequality, environmental degradation, and the enduring mythology of limitless economic aspiration.
