The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The digital transformation of higher education has created new requirements for the professional training of future foreign language teachers. Today, professional competence is not limited to linguistic knowledge; it also includes methodological, communicative, digital-pedagogical, reflective and assessment-related abilities. This article examines blended learning as an integrated pedagogical mechanism for developing the professional competence of future foreign language teachers. The study is based on theoretical analysis, pedagogical modelling and the author’s dissertation research on improving the professional competence of future English language teachers through blended learning. The article proposes an integrated framework consisting of four interrelated components: an integrated conceptual model, adaptive blended learning methodology, professional learning ecosystem and Professional Competence Index. The findings show that blended learning becomes pedagogically effective when classroom instruction, online learning, independent study, authentic digital resources, microteaching, feedback, reflection and portfolio-based assessment are systematically integrated. The proposed framework can be used in higher education institutions to improve foreign language teacher education and to support competence-based professional training.

Abstract

This article analyzes the dogma regarding the non-use of the Passive Voice in the Perfect Continuous tenses within English language textbooks. The purpose of the study is to prove the necessity of the '' formula in accurately translating the Uzbek "perfect-continuous passive" (-ib kelinmoqda, -ib kelinayotgan edi) constructions into English. Through corpus analysis and transformation methods, it was determined that traditional alternatives (Simple Perfect Passive or Continuous Passive) lead to a loss of aspectual meaning in translation.

Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical foundations and practical effectiveness of the blended learning approach, which integrates traditional classroom instruction with digital technologies to develop foreign language (English) skills within the higher education system. Based on a descriptive-analytical (desk-research) methodology, this study conducts a thematic analysis of international research published between 2004 and 2023. It highlights the impact of blended learning on reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, as well as its contribution to students' academic motivation and autonomy. The findings indicate that while the blended learning model offers several advantages over traditional education, its effectiveness directly depends on technical infrastructure, teacher readiness, and pedagogical design. Finally, practical recommendations have been formulated for higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, specifically for the field of English philology.

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the works of Marcel Pagnol, one of the prominent representatives of twentieth-century French literature, with particular emphasis on his autobiographical tetralogy, including the novels My Father’s Glory and My Mother’s Castle. In these works, the author skillfully reveals the image of the father as a moral ideal and mentor, emphasizing the significance of family values in the formation of an individual’s personality. In the context of contemporary transformations in family institutions, the artistic representation of traditional values has become an especially relevant issue. The aim of the study is to analyze the image of the father and traditional values in Pagnol’s works. The research methodology includes biographical, cultural-historical, comparative-typological, and hermeneutic approaches, which allow for a deeper understanding of the role of family traditions in the process of growing up and shaping the inner world of the character. The article contributes to a more profound understanding of human relationships and the values that remain significant in a changing society.

Abstract

This research paper is dedicated to the issues of enhancing teaching quality in the modern educational system, improving student performance indicators, and integrating digital and innovative pedagogical technologies into the educational process. The aim of the study is to experimentally evaluate the impact of traditional teaching methods versus innovative (blended and project-based) learning methods on students' level of knowledge. A total of 240 students participated in the study, divided into control and experimental groups. The obtained results were verified using statistical analysis (t-test), revealing that the academic performance in the experimental group where innovative technologies were applied was 18.4% higher. The article develops scientific and practical recommendations for the strategic management of education quality and the systematic organization of quality monitoring.

Abstract

This article provides a scientific and pedagogical analysis of transformational changes occurring in the content, structure, and functional tasks of pedagogical competencies in the process of digitalizing the educational environment. It substantiates that, in the context of a digital educational environment, the professional training of future teachers should not be limited only to traditional didactic, methodological, and communicative competencies, but should also be integrated with technological, digital-didactic, analytical, innovative, and reflective competencies. The article interprets digitalization as a factor that reorganizes the content of pedagogical activity and highlights the transformation of the teacher’s role from a traditional transmitter of knowledge into a subject who designs, manages, and analyzes the educational process and forms an individual learning trajectory based on digital resources. In addition, the didactic potential of digital learning platforms, electronic portfolios, learning analytics, interactive resources, and blended learning technologies in developing transformed pedagogical competencies among future teachers is revealed. As a result of the study, technological competence is substantiated as an integrative professional quality that unites pedagogical competencies in a digital educational environment.

Abstract

The rapid digitalization of mass communication has fundamentally transformed the practice of journalism, giving rise to new forms of content production and dissemination. Among these innovations, art blogging has become one of the most influential phenomena within contemporary art journalism. Unlike traditional journalistic formats, art blogs combine professional criticism, visual storytelling, personal reflection, and interactive communication, creating a multidimensional platform for discussing artistic and cultural issues. This article examines the development of art blogging as an integral component of modern art journalism, explores its communicative characteristics and social significance, and analyzes its influence on cultural discourse, audience engagement, and digital media practices. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between professional journalism and independent digital content creation, as well as to the role of multimedia technologies in shaping new forms of artistic communication.

Abstract

Idiomatic compounds represent complex lexical constructions in which meaning formation goes beyond the literal combination of individual components and involves cognitive mechanisms. This study investigates the formation of figurative meanings in English and Uzbek idiomatic compounds from a comparative linguo-cognitive perspective. Using cognitive-semantic and comparative analysis, the research examines the role of conceptual metaphor, metonymy, conceptual integration, and cultural cognitive models in meaning construction. The findings reveal that idiomatic compounds in both languages are systematically motivated rather than arbitrary formations. Conceptual metaphor appears as the dominant mechanism, particularly in expressions related to personality, emotions, intelligence, and social behaviour. Although English and Uzbek share universal cognitive patterns based on human experience, they demonstrate culture-specific differences in conceptual representation. The study contributes to comparative cognitive linguistics by explaining how language, cognition, and culture interact in the development of idiomatic meanings across different linguistic systems.

Abstract

This article examines the theоretical fоundatiоns оf female archetypes in British literature thrоugh archetype theоry and feminist literary criticism. It explоres Carl Jung's cоncept оf archetypes and analyzes hоw feminist schоlars have reinterpreted traditiоnal representatiоns оf wоmen. Particular attentiоn is given tо the histоrical and cultural factоrs influencing the transfоrmatiоn оf female archetypes in twentieth and twenty-first-century British nоvels. The study demоnstrates that female archetypes have evоlved frоm traditiоnal patriarchal mоdels tо mоre diverse and independent fоrms оf identity, reflecting brоader sоcial and cultural changes.
