The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The integration of digital technologies into English language education has transformed the way literature is taught in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. Traditional literature instruction, which mainly relied on printed texts and teacher-centered explanations, is gradually being replaced by interactive, technology-enhanced approaches that foster learner engagement, critical thinking, and intercultural awareness. This paper examines the effectiveness of digital approaches to teaching the literature of the target language country by reviewing current pedagogical strategies and digital tools used in EFL contexts. It discusses the application of digital storytelling, e-books, learning management systems, online discussion platforms, artificial intelligence, and multimedia resources in literature instruction. The paper argues that digital technologies not only improve learners’ literary competence but also contribute to language proficiency, collaborative learning, and autonomous study. Furthermore, the study highlights the challenges teachers encounter, including limited digital literacy, unequal access to technology, and the need for professional development. The findings indicate that integrating digital tools into literature teaching creates more interactive learning environments and enhances students’ motivation and interpretation of literary texts.

Abstract

This article analyzes the scientific and theoretical foundations of annual planning in the development of strength and speed-strength qualities in young short-distance runners. Achieving high results in sprint events directly depends on the athlete’s explosive strength, reactive power, and maximum speed abilities. Therefore, the scientific distribution of training loads throughout the year is of great importance. The article discusses the principles of periodization in annual planning, the stages of developing strength and speed-strength qualities, and the physiological adaptation mechanisms of young athletes. The results of the study show that the gradual application of training loads and proper consideration of recovery processes lead to high training effectiveness.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media and digital communication has significantly influenced the language used by young people. Internet slang includes abbreviations, acronyms, shortened words, respellings, emojis, and newly created expressions commonly used on social networking platforms, messaging applications, online games, and discussion forums. This study examines the development of English internet slang and its influence on the spoken and written communication of young people. The research employs a qualitative literature-review method and synthesizes findings from studies on computer-mediated communication, digital discourse, youth language, and sociolinguistics. The results indicate that internet slang develops through abbreviation, clipping, semantic change, word formation, and the transformation of online expressions into spoken language. Internet slang helps young people communicate quickly, express emotions, construct social identities, and strengthen group solidarity. However, its excessive or contextually inappropriate use may negatively affect formal writing, communication between generations, and the ability to distinguish between formal and informal registers. The study concludes that internet slang should not be regarded simply as linguistic deterioration. Instead, it represents language creativity and adaptation to digital environments. Language educators should therefore teach students how to use internet slang appropriately while maintaining competence in standard English.

Abstract

This paper investigates the linguacultural characteristics, semantic structures, and sociolinguistic functions of vehicle names within the linguistic landscapes of Uzbekistan and English-speaking countries. By examining 200 vehicle-related names, including official brand models and popular informal car slang, we explore how cultural mentalities, economic realities, and historical narratives shape naming practices. The study utilizes conceptual metaphor theory, semantic field classification, and comparative linguacultural analysis. The results show that while English vehicle naming is highly commercialized and centered around individualist themes of power, freedom, and exploration, the Uzbek informal vehicle landscape is characterized by collectivist values, utility, humor, and domestic zoomorphic metaphors. This study provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the interaction between language, culture, and automotive branding.

Abstract

The rapid development of globalization has transformed foreign language education by emphasizing not only linguistic proficiency but also intercultural and linguocultural competence. Proper names, as an essential component of language, represent valuable cultural symbols reflecting the historical, social, and national identity of a community. However, onomastic vocabulary is often insufficiently addressed in English language instruction, limiting learners’ ability to interpret authentic texts and communicate effectively across cultures. This study investigates the integration of English and Uzbek onomastic vocabulary into foreign language teaching through a linguocultural framework. Using comparative, descriptive, and pedagogical approaches, the research proposes an instructional model that combines cultural interpretation with communicative language teaching. The findings suggest that integrating onomastic vocabulary into classroom practice enhances intercultural awareness, vocabulary retention, critical thinking, and communicative competence. The study offers methodological recommendations for English language educators seeking to modernize foreign language instruction in multilingual educational settings.
