Abstract

This study aimed to develop Boccia sports training aids for athletes with cerebral palsy disabilities in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The research used a research and development design with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants involved in this study included experts in testing and measurement, disability experts, Boccia coaches, and athletes with cerebral palsy disabilities. The final product was the Boccia Equipment Tools (BET), which consisted of a Boccia ramp, ball holder, small goal, high goal, stick helmet, bowling target, and point target. Expert validation results showed that BET was highly feasible, with feasibility, effectiveness, and training applicability scores of 82%, 82%, and 81%, respectively. The effectiveness test involving 17 athletes over 16 training sessions showed a significant improvement in Boccia throwing accuracy. The mean score increased from 13.94 in the pretest to 28.05 in the posttest, and the paired sample test showed a significant difference with p = 0.000. These findings indicate that BET is feasible and effective for supporting Boccia training, particularly in improving throwing accuracy among athletes with cerebral palsy disabilities. Future studies should examine the durability and long-term use of BET in wider training contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ankle injury severity on anxiety levels in marathon athletes in Bekasi. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis technique. The study subjects consisted of 75 marathon athletes who had participated in marathon races in Bekasi. The severity of ankle injuries was measured using an injury classification questionnaire that groups injuries into mild, moderate, and severe categories, while the athletes' anxiety levels were measured using a sports anxiety questionnaire instrument that had been adjusted to the athletes' characteristics. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (p = 0.065), while the linearity test showed a linear relationship between injury severity and anxiety levels (deviation from linearity p = 0.541). The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.786 and a determination coefficient (R²) of 0.618, which means that 61.8% of the variation in athletes' anxiety levels can be explained by the severity of the ankle injury. The regression equation obtained is Y = 20.315 + 9.215X. The results of the regression test showed that the severity of the ankle injury significantly influenced the athlete's anxiety level (t = 10.829; p = 0.000). This finding indicates that the higher the severity of the injury experienced by the athlete, the higher the level of anxiety felt. Therefore, injury rehabilitation programs for marathon athletes need to integrate physical recovery and psychological support to support optimal recovery processes both physically and mentally.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess VO₂max using the bleep test in 33 SAU pencak silat athletes, comprising 17 male novice athletes and 16 female novice athletes aged 18–19 with survey design. The results of the VO₂max measurements in male and female novice pencak silat athletes showed that the majority of athletes had low aerobic capacity, particularly among male athletes, total of 58.82% of athletes are classified as very poor, followed by 29.41% in the poor category, and only 11.76 % reach the fair category, with (mean ± SD) of (32.9 ml/kg/min ± 3.68), were female athletes,  total of 31.25 % of athletes were in the very poor category, 50.00 % were in the poor category, and 18.75 % of female athletes were in the fair category with (29.9 ml/kg/min ± 3.14). These findings indicate that the cardiorespiratory fitness levels of both male and female athletes remain below recommended fitness standards, thus requiring a more structured endurance training programme.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a station-based learning strategy (station rotation) on increasing physical activity and participation among fifth-grade students in physical education classes at elementary schools. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 31 fifth-grade students at State Elementary School 113 Banjarsari, Bandung, divided into an experimental group (n = 16) and a control group (n = 15), selected using purposive sampling. Physical activity was measured using the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C), and student participation was measured using an observation sheet. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Levene homogeneity test, the Mann-Whitney U test for the physical activity variable, and N-Gain Score analysis. The results of the study showed that the experimental group experienced an increase in physical activity scores from an average of 2.68 (moderate category) to 3.44 (high category), while the control group’s scores decreased from 2.89 to 2.69. For the participation variable, the absolute posttest scores did not show a statistically significant difference (p = 0.40). However, the N-Gain Score analysis revealed a highly significant difference in the effectiveness of the improvement between the two groups (p = 0.000). The conclusion of this study is that a learning strategy based on evidence has proven effective in improving physical.

Abstract

The problem of this study is the lack of empirical data on the endurance capabilities of West Sumatra PON soccer players based on playing positions based on sport science. Data on endurance capabilities is very important for coaches as a basis for developing measurable and structured training programs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the endurance capabilities of West Sumatra PON soccer players based on playing positions. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach. The sample in this study were 26 young soccer players. The instrument used was the yoyo intermittent recovery test. The collected data will be analyzed using statistical techniques with the help of SPSS 26 software and Microsoft Excel. From the test results, the mean value was 55.07, the standard deviation was 4.45, the minimum value was 47.49, and the maximum value was 63.22. Based on playing position, goalkeepers have an average VO2max of 51.69 (low), defenders 54.7 (moderate), full-backs 55.97 (moderate), midfielders 57.12 (moderate), wingers 56.36 (moderate), and forwards 52.64 (low). The results of this study generally indicate that players' endurance abilities are still not in accordance with the required endurance standards for soccer players. Coaches must improve players' endurance abilities in order to compete at the elite level. This data can be a reference for coaches to design and organize more effective training programs to improve players' endurance abilities.

Abstract

This study examined the relationships among sport motivation, exercise self-efficacy, running attitude, community support, physical activity, and sustainable lifestyle behavior among members of a running community in Tasikmalaya City. Growing participation in running communities offers opportunities to promote active and sustainable lifestyles, yet the psychological and social mechanisms underlying these behaviors remain insufficiently explored. A quantitative approach with an explanatory correlational survey design was employed. The sample consisted of 120 running community members selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4. The findings revealed that sport motivation significantly influenced exercise self-efficacy, running attitude, and community support. In turn, exercise self-efficacy, running attitude, and community support significantly predicted physical activity. Physical activity also showed a significant positive effect on sustainable lifestyle behavior. The model demonstrated satisfactory predictive power, explaining 57.4% of the variance in physical activity and 46.5% of the variance in sustainable lifestyle behavior. These findings indicate that sport motivation serves as a key driver of physical activity through psychological and social pathways, ultimately fostering sustainable lifestyle behavior. The study contributes to sport psychology literature and provides practical evidence for developing community-based physical activity promotion programs.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify match performance indicators associated with winning in university futsal teams competing in the 2026 National Collegiate Futsal Series (NCFS). A quantitative descriptive-comparative design was employed using official statistics from 410 matches across ten regional competitions, resulting in 820 team-match observations: 365 wins, 90 draws, and 365 losses. The analyzed indicators included goals scored, shots on target, shots off target, ball possession, pass accuracy, tackles, missed penalties, fouls committed, yellow cards, and red cards. Because goals scored directly determines match outcomes, it was used only as a descriptive outcome-validation indicator and was not treated as a predictor of success. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Kruskal–Wallis test, followed by Dunn–Holm post hoc comparisons. Significant differences among winning, drawing, and losing teams were found in shots on target, shots off target, ball possession, pass accuracy, fouls committed, and yellow cards (p < 0.05), although the effect sizes were generally small (ε² = 0.001–0.052). Pass accuracy and ball possession showed the largest effects. Post hoc analysis indicated that winning teams recorded significantly more shots on target, greater ball possession, and higher pass accuracy than drawing and losing teams. Descriptively, winning teams also scored more goals than drawing and losing teams. Conversely, tackles, missed penalties, and red cards did not differ significantly across match outcomes (p > 0.05). These findings suggest that attacking effectiveness and game control, particularly shot accuracy, ball possession, and passing accuracy, are the performance indicators most consistently associated with winning in university futsal.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether members of the Fakerunners Bandung running community who exercise at high frequency (≥3 times/week) have significantly better quality of life compared to those who exercise at low frequency (1–2 times/week). This research employed an comparative cross-sectional study, in which the independent variable (exercise frequency) was not manipulated but had naturally occurred prior to data collection .The population consisted of 846 active members registered in the community WhatsApp group. Purposive sampling was employed, yielding 60 respondents who met the inclusion criteria, divided equally into two groups: low frequency (1-2x/week, n=30) and high frequency (≥3x/week, n=30). The Indonesian version of the WHOQOL-BREF tool was used to assess quality of life. Shapiro-Wilk was used to evaluate normality, and Independent Sample T-tests were performed for group comparisons (all domains exhibited normal distribution). Findings indicated that the high-frequency group consistently achieved elevated average scores in all areas. Notable differences were observed in the psychological domain (p=0.013) and environmental domain (p=0.001), whereas the physical (p=0.053) and social relationship (p=0.182) domains failed to attain statistical significance. To sum up, exercising more frequently (≥3x/week) is linked to improved overall quality of life, especially in the psychological and environmental aspects.
