Abstract

Era digitalisasi telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam berbagai bidang, termasuk perpustakaan. Artikel ini mengkaji tantangan dan peluang bagi pustakawan milenial dalam menghadapi perkembangan teknologi digital. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur, yang melibatkan analisis data dari berbagai sumber terkait seperti jutnal, buku dan laporan penelitian. Tujuan penulisan ini untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis tantangan dan peluang yang dihadapi oleh pustakawan milenial dalam menghadapi transformasi digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tantangan utama meliputi adaptasi terhadap teknologi yang terus berkembang, peningkatan literasi digital, perubahan peran tradisional pustakawan, keterbatasan anggaran, serta isu privasi dan keamanan data. Namun, di balik tantangan tersebut, terdapat peluang besar seperti inovasi dalam layanan digital, kolaborasi dan jaringan profesional yang lebih luas, peningkatan aksesibilitas informasi, penggunaan data untuk pengambilan keputusan yang lebih baik, dan kesempatan untuk pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa dengan strategi yang tepat dan investasi dalam pengembangan keterampilan serta teknologi, pustakawan milenial dapat mengatasi tantangan dan memanfaatkan peluang yang ada untuk meningkatkan kinerja perpustakaan dan memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna di era digital. Rekomendasi praktis diberikan untuk membantu perpustakaan dalam mengelola transformasi digital ini secara efektif.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how information technology changes the practice of weeding collections, identify the challenges faced in the transformation process, and formulate strategic solutions that can be implemented by libraries. The method used in this study uses a literature study, namely a research method carried out by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information or data obtained from various written sources, such as books, scientific articles, research reports, journals, theses, dissertations, official documents, and other literature sources that are relevant to the topic being studied. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the application of information technology has brought significant changes in the weeding process, starting from collecting, evaluating to filtering digital collections. In addition, the transformation in weeding collections can increase efficiency, accuracy, and accountability in weeding decision making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of librarian and user interaction in the era of artificial intelligence. The method used is qualitative with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The results of the study show that AI drives the transformation of library services to be more automatic, faster, and more personal. Although this technology increases efficiency, concerns arise regarding data privacy and the professional role of librarians. However, librarians are still needed as knowledge facilitators, information literacy educators, and technology ethics directors. Meanwhile, users show interest in AI-based services, but want security and transparency guarantees. Thus, the success of AI integration in libraries depends on the competence of librarians, digital literacy of users, and ongoing policy support and collaboration.

Abstract

Museums, as institutions preserving historical heritage, face significant challenges in the era of Digital 5.0, where innovation and technology are essential for conveying religious and academic values to the broader society. This study examines the digitalization information at the Muhammadiyah Museum in Yogyakarta, focusing on the innovation of historical information systems as a means of revitalizing ushuluddin values. A qualitative descriptive method is employed, using literature studies and documentation as the primary sources. The findings reveal that digitalization not only facilitates broader access to the Islamic historical narratives promoted by Muhammadiyah but also strengthens the transmission of Islamic values to younger generations in a contextual and interactive manner. Abstract

The research was entitled "Improving Librarian Competence at the Sadewa Health Vocational School Library through Education and Training by the Indonesian Librarians Association (IPI DIY). This study aimed to determine how to improve librarian competency at the Sadewa Health Vocational School Library in Yogyakarta. The data collection method used a qualitative approach with a case study. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Thematic analysis was used for data analysis. The results and discussion of the data processing revealed that librarian competency at the Sadewa Health Vocational School Library in Yogyakarta can be improved through education and training in the library field. Based on the analysis, the study concluded that the education and training program for school librarians conducted by the Indonesian Librarians Association (IPI) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta played a significant role in improving librarian competency at the Sadewa Health Vocational School Library in Yogyakarta. This competency improvement contributed to the library's success in achieving an A-level accreditation.

Abstract

The library, as a pillar of an institution's existence, plays an important role and no longer functions merely as a place for storing and borrowing books. It has evolved into a public space that supports learning activities, research, and social interaction. In this context, the aspect of comfort becomes a crucial factor to consider. A descriptive qualitative research approach was conducted to analyze the interior design of the library in supporting user comfort at the STIKES Suaka Insan Library in Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three steps: data reduction, data presentation in narrative form, and finally, drawing conclusions. The research findings show that the interior design of the STIKES Suaka Insan Library in Banjarmasin was carefully planned and designed with user comfort and needs in mind. A minimalist aesthetic design is reflected in the bright wall colors and ceiling, symbolizing tolerance, as well as in the service layout, lighting, and temperature—all aspects aimed at creating a pleasant environment that supports the learning process. Abstract

This study analyzes efforts to preserve static archives at the Lampung Provincial Library and Archives Service using the standard reference of the guidelines of the Regulation of the Head of the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia Number 23 of 2011 concerning Guidelines for Static Archive Management. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informant in this study is a static archive archivist. The results of the study show that preventive and curative preservation has been carried out according to standards, with the support of digitalization cooperation with ANRI. However, there are obstacles in the form of the use of materials that are not yet lignin-free, the absence of independent restoration spaces, as well as limited human resources, and budgets that hinder preservation programs. It is necessary to improve human resource competence, eliminate standards for preservation materials, and strengthen the budget so that the static archives of Lampung Province can be maintained as the collective memory of the nation.

Abstract

Library staff competencies have become increasingly important in supporting library transformation in the Society 5.0. However competency develompment for library staff is often not based on comprehensive competency mapping, particularly within the context of school libraries where library personnel have diverse backgrounds and characeristic. This study aims to anallyze the competencies of senior high school library staff in Gugus 3 Tangerang Selatan City using a four-dimensional competency framework consisiting of lifelong learning, technical, managerial, and social competencies. This research employed a mixed methods approch with a case study design. This research employed a mixed methods approach with a case study design. Quantitative data were collected through an online survey involving 19 library staff members. Qualitative data were obtained through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with library staff, school principals, and the Head of the Center for the Development of School/Madrasah and Higher Education Libraries (P3SMPT) of the National Library of Indonesia. The findings revealed that lifelong learning competency obtained the highest score (3.1), followed by social competency (2.9), managerial competency (2.5), and technical competency (2.4). These results indicate that the motivation and learning adaptability of senior high school library staff in Gugus 3 Tangerang Selatan City are categorized as very good, while technological readiness and managerial strengthening still require further development. Qualitative analysis further revealed that these conditions are related to the characteristics of library staff, most of whom are teachers assigned additional responsibilities as library managers, as well as the lack of institutional support and strategic library planning within schools. This study demonstrates that the development of library staff competencies should not solely focus on improving individual capabilities but also requires systemic and sustainable strengthening of school library governance. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a basis for developing more contextual competency development strategies for school library staff in accordance with the needs of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

A B S T R A C T Open access institutional repositories contribute to knowledge dissemination in higher education; however, mandatory thesis deposit policies may raise students’ concerns about personal data privacy. This study examines factors influencing students’ acceptance of a mandatory undergraduate thesis upload policy using the Antecedents–Privacy Concerns–Outcomes (APCO) framework. An explanatory quantitative survey was conducted with 364 fresh graduates who had recently completed the undergraduate thesis upload process at Universitas Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in SmartPLS 4. The results show that privacy awareness positively and significantly affects privacy concern (β = 0.484; T = 9.910; p < 0.001). Furthermore, trust in the institution has a direct positive and significant effect on policy acceptance (β = 0.534; T = 10.133; p < 0.001). In contrast, privacy concern does not significantly affect policy acceptance (β = −0.032; T = 0.590; p = 0.555). The structural model explains 28.6% of the variance in policy acceptance (R² = 0.286). These findings suggest that strengthening institutional trust in repository governance is more critical for policy acceptance than reducing students’ Privacy Concerns. Therefore, higher education institutions are encouraged to enhance transparency and data governance practices to maintain trust and mitigate privacy risks. Keywords: institutional repository; mandatory thesis upload; Policy Acceptance; privacy concern; trust A B S T R A K Repositori institusi berbasis open access berkontribusi terhadap diseminasi pengetahuan di perguruan tinggi, tetapi kebijakan wajib unggah skripsi berpotensi memunculkan kekhawatiran mahasiswa terkait privasi data pribadi. Penelitian ini menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penerimaan mahasiswa terhadap kebijakan wajib unggah skripsi menggunakan kerangka Antecedents–Privacy Concerns–Outcomes (APCO). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksplanatori melalui survei daring terhadap 364 mahasiswa lulusan baru Universitas Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) dengan SmartPLS 4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator proksi privacy awareness berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap privacy concern (β = 0,484; T = 9,910; p < 0,001). Selanjutnya, trust in institution berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara langsung terhadap policy acceptance (β = 0,534; T = 10,133; p < 0,001). Sebaliknya, privacy concern tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap policy acceptance (β = −0,032; T = 0,590; p = 0,555). Model struktural mampu menjelaskan varians policy acceptance sebesar 28,6% (R² = 0,286). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan kepercayaan terhadap tata kelola repositori institusi lebih krusial dalam mendorong penerimaan kebijakan dibandingkan upaya menurunkan kekhawatiran privasi mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, perguruan tinggi perlu meningkatkan transparansi kebijakan dan tata kelola data untuk menjaga kepercayaan sekaligus meminimalkan risiko privasi. Abstract

Rendahnya tingkat literasi Indonesia berdasarkan survei PISA 2019 yang menempatkan Indonesia pada peringkat 62 dari 70 negara menunjukkan urgensi penanganan masalah literasi dini. Tulisan ini menganalisis peran orang tua sebagai pendidik pertama dalam menumbuhkan literasi dini pada anak melalui metode tinjauan literatur. Tulisan ini mengungkapkan bahwa keterlibatan orang tua melalui kegiatan sederhana seperti membacakan cerita, komunikasi interaktif, dan penciptaan lingkungan literasi yang kaya berperan signifikan dalam membangun fondasi literasi anak. Namun, implementasinya masih terkendala berbagai faktor seperti persepsi keliru mengenai tanggung jawab literasi, keterbatasan pengetahuan orang tua, tekanan ekonomi, serta pengaruh gadget. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa optimalisasi peran orang tua memerlukan peningkatan kesadaran dan kapasitas untuk menciptakan ekosistem literasi yang positif di rumah, didukung kolaborasi sinergis antara keluarga, sekolah, dan pemerintah. Upaya kolektif ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat fondasi literasi anak Indonesia sejak dini.
