Abstract

Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia has a model of a tool for moving materials which is controlled using a PLC, but this model is no longer operational and some of its components are broken. The tool is used as a learning media for students majoring in engineering in the field of control systems and PLCs. Tool repairs and modifications are made by adding metal and non-metal material sorters. The problems that arise are how to form a series of ladder diagrams to work in one cycle and the vacuum pressure of air to lift metal and non-metal materials. The method in this study uses research and development (Research and Development). The equipment and materials in this study used the PLC Omron CP1E 20 I/0 and the sample materials were aluminium and nylon with a diameter of 30 and a thickness of 8 mm. The conclusion is that this tool can work using the ladder diagram that has been made in one cycle and the best pressure is 4 bar.

Abstract

The population of this study consists of 1,263 active Politeknik Bumi Akperni Semarang students in the academic year 2020-2021, and the purpose of this study is to determine the quality of academic services and educational facilities simultaneously and partially affect student satisfaction. The sample comprised 95 respondents, selected using a simple random sampling method. A Likert scale questionnaire, built on theory and transformed into instrumental variables, is used for data collection. Multiple regression analysis is also used to test the research instrument. The research results indicate that (1) the variable of academic service quality (X1) affects student satisfaction (Y), with a t-value of 2.917 greater than the t-table value of 1.986; (2) the variable of "educational institution" (X2) affects student satisfaction (Y), with a t-value of 4.192 greater than the t-table value of 1.986; and (3) the variable of academic service quality (X1) and the aspect of the educational institution (X2) affect student satisfaction. (Y).

Abstract

This research began with fluctuations in ship visits as a result of employee performance. The performance generated by employees appears to be suboptimal due to factors such as high workload resulting from an inadequate number of employees compared to the volume of ship visits handled by the company, compounded by insufficient facilities such as company transportation. This study aims to determine the influence of workload and workplace facilities on agency performance. The method employed in this research is quantitative, utilizing data collection through questionnaires distributed to 32 employees as respondents at PT. IDT TRANS AGENCY, Sungai Danau Branch. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences) version 24. The results of this research indicate that there is an influence of workload and workplace facilities on performance with an adjusted R square value of 0.784. This means that workload and workplace facilities contribute to 78,4% of the performance, while the remaining part as many as 21,6% is influenced by other factors which is not tested in this study.

Abstract

Discharge activities on a cement vessel can’t be separated from the discharge pneumatic system, because the bulk cement contained in the cellar tank must be pressurized so that the cement turns into dust and can be unloaded into the land sillo. Failure of the pneumatic system will pose a risk of time delays and losses for the company because it can’t carry out load discharge activities. When the cement discharge activity takes place, there are many problems with the pneumatic system due to the decrease in wind pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors, impacts and efforts made to analyze the effect of main pressure on the cellar tank in the cement discharge process to reduce the risk of delays in cement discharge activities. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Where is described and explained each problem with a detailed explanation. Data collection techniques with the method of observation, interviews with the chief officer and supported by the method of documentation. Damage to the pneumatic valve system causes reduced pressure in the cellar tank to be a factor in the decrease in main pressure. The impact of decreasing main pressure causes cement discharge activities to not be carried out optimally and can even hinder cement discharge activities. The conclusion obtained is that efforts need to be made to improve the skills of the crew on the operation of the pneumatic system and control, routines for the maintenance of the pneumatic system equipment according to the system maintenance plan.

Abstract

Loading and unloading operations include the transportation of goods using land transportation. To carry out these freight transportation activities, the method or service procedure requires the availability of appropriate facilities or equipment. Effective and efficient employee performance is needed by a company because that will advance a company. Employees are expected to work more effectively, with easier access to the information needed, and better coordination between teams. This study aims to discuss the effect of the Electronic Terminal Operation System (ETOS) application system on the performance of operational employees in loading and unloading activities at PT Prima Nur Panurjwan and find out employee perceptions of the ETOS application system affecting the performance of operational employees in loading and unloading activities. This research uses quantitative methods, with questionnaire and observation data collection techniques and data analysis patterns using instrument tests, classical assumption tests, simple regression analysis, determination tests, and t tests. The results of this study validate the research hypothesis that there is a significant influence between the ETOS application system on employee performance at PT Prima Nur Panurjwan.

Abstract

Effective human resource management is the main key to achieving optimal company performance. PT. Pelayaran Nasional Ekalya Purnamasari Tbk has implemented the Vessel Leadership Training program as one of the strategic initiatives to improve the ship's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The research started from a problem in the form of low KPIs that proved the low service to customers. This aims to examine the influence of leadership training on ship KPIs at PT. This study uses a quantitative method with 45 respondents consisting of the top three crew members (Master, Chief Engineer, and Chief Officer) who have participated in the training program. Data were collected through questionnaires and data analysis was carried out with a simple linear regression test to measure the influence between independent variables and dependent variables. The results of the study show that Vessel Leadership Training has a positive and significant influence on ship KPIs. The training has been proven to improve the operational performance of ships in terms of timeliness, shipping safety, regulatory compliance, and smooth operations. The suggestion for further research is to further examine other factors that may affect the effectiveness of leadership training, as well as evaluate the long-term impact of such training on ship performance.
