Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of competence and organizational commitment moderated organizational culture in improving the performance of the maritime college lecturer. This research is located in the city of Semarang In this study population of 177, while the samples taken a number of 123 respondents, using probability random sampling. Measurements using a Likert scale of 5 (seven) answer. Alternative instruments test used are validity and reliability, while the test model used is the coefficient of determination (R Adjsuted Square), test F (Goodness of Fit). Hypothesis test used in this study used regression analysis. Testing the hypothesis used t test frequency distribution of the level of significance (α) of 5%. The results showed the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square) 0.450, meaning that the independent variables (organizational culture, competencies and organizational commitment) to give effect to 45% in dependent variable (performance lecturers). The remaining 55% influenced by other variables not included in the study. Based on the research results summarized as follows; Competence does not affect the performance of lecturers, Commitment Organizational does not affect the performance of lecturers, Cultural Organisation positive and significant effect on the performance of lecturers, organizational culture does not moderate the effect of competence on the performance of lecturers, organizational culture does not moderate the influence of organizational commitment to the performance of lecturers Keywords:Performance, Competence, Organizational Commitment, Organizational Culture, Moderation

Abstract

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a navigation aid tool to assist in positioning. The use of gps is necessary because in the middle of the sea positioning is quite tricky to do. On traditional fishing boats the use of this equipment is still small. Consideration of the price which is relatively expensive and the knowledge of fishermen in its use is still minimal. This study aims to create a gps device using the ublox Neo-6M sensor. The microcontroller performs the calculation process and displays the parameters on the 20x4 character LCD screen. LCD displays real time DMS position, distance meter, direction to the reference point, knot speed, and date. Reference points as markers of navigational hazards such as buildings and installations in the water, ship hulls, reefs, sandbars and mines. In this study, 4 reference points with different distances and directions were determined in the area around the campus. When the GPS is in a position more than 300m, the CP and BRG markings on the screen do not show certain numbers. If the gps moves closer to one of the points at a distance of less than 300m then the CP screen shows the distance meter number. BRG shows the direction from the gps point to the nearest point. The test results in the field show that the tool can provide information in accordance with the program that has been made. The accuracy obtained from points is about 5m depending on the weather and environmental disturbances such as trees.

Abstract

Awareness of sailing safety ls vital and must be prioritized. Various incidents of ship accidents, starting from burning ships and sinking became a separate evaluation material for Indonesia which declared it to be the world's maritime axis. The problem of the lack of safety equipment available on ships are found in cases of passenger ship accidents in Indonesia. This is also found in fishing vessels belonging to groups and individuals. The main reason stated by the ship owner is that the procurement of safety equipments requires no small amount of funds, and priority needs of each of the different safety equipments so that not all equipment need to be fulfilled, In addition, the low level of education and skills also affects safety awareness. The type of research used is Explanatory Research which aims to analyze whether or not the influence of the amount of fishermen's income on sailing safety awareness is mediated by education level. The number of research samples is 59 respondents who are fishermen on the North Coast of Java (Semarang, Demak, and Kendal). The research data was obtained through filling out questionnaires using a Likert scale with a range of 5. In addition, it was also strengthened by follow-up interviews to support the results of research data processing. From the results of the research data obtained results: (1) the amount of income did not affect the level of education, (2) the amount of income did not affect sailing safety awareness. (3) the level of education had a positive effect on sailing safety awareness and (4) the level of education was not mediates the effect of the amount of income on sailing safety awareness.

Abstract

Discharge activities on a cement vessel can’t be separated from the discharge pneumatic system, because the bulk cement contained in the cellar tank must be pressurized so that the cement turns into dust and can be unloaded into the land sillo. Failure of the pneumatic system will pose a risk of time delays and losses for the company because it can’t carry out load discharge activities. When the cement discharge activity takes place, there are many problems with the pneumatic system due to the decrease in wind pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors, impacts and efforts made to analyze the effect of main pressure on the cellar tank in the cement discharge process to reduce the risk of delays in cement discharge activities. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Where is described and explained each problem with a detailed explanation. Data collection techniques with the method of observation, interviews with the chief officer and supported by the method of documentation. Damage to the pneumatic valve system causes reduced pressure in the cellar tank to be a factor in the decrease in main pressure. The impact of decreasing main pressure causes cement discharge activities to not be carried out optimally and can even hinder cement discharge activities. The conclusion obtained is that efforts need to be made to improve the skills of the crew on the operation of the pneumatic system and control, routines for the maintenance of the pneumatic system equipment according to the system maintenance plan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran untuk pelajaran tentang Navigasi selama pandemi Covid-19 mengalami kendala. Sebesar 85 persen responden Taruna Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia mengalami kesulitan pada pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi zoom meeting dikarenakan materi yang disampaikan kurang maksimal. Permasalahan tersebut kami menetapkan tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk membuat media pembelajaran dengan mengembangkan simulasi Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) menggunakan software visual basic 6. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan ADDIE dengan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu analysis, design, development, implement dan evaluation. Perancangan modul software ini terdiri atas 42 slide teori dengan ditambahkan input suara diberi timer masing-masing 30 detik, 1 slide berisi video tutorial dan 1 slide praktikum. 90 persen responden Taruna Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia untuk materi tentang Navigasi menyatakan terbantu dengan media pembelajaran ECDIS yang dikembangkan. Manfaat yang didapatkan adalah materi tersampaikan dengan jelas tanpa adanya gangguan sinyal internet serta tidak membutuhkan kuota internet terlalu besar. Software ini akan ditambahkan dengan proses evaluasi 50 soal pilihan ganda pada penelitian selanjutnya.

Abstract

The creation of Moodle-based LMS (Learning Management System) media at the Indonesian State Maritime Polytechnic on terrestrial navigation science material is expected to produce effective learning media and with the digital platform it is hoped that it can reduce the use of paper. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of Moodle LMS (Learning Management System) media learning in the terrestrial navigation Courses. Data analysis for calculations by comparing the learning outcomes of Polymarine cadets before using Moodle LMS media and after using Moodle LMS media for 16 meetings. The results of the observations obtained were comparisons before using the LMS using paper to carry out the pre-test and post-test. Cadets can easily access the material for each meeting that has been uploaded by the lecturer and save paper usage because cadets do not need to copy material from the lecturer. The application of Moodle LMS (Learning Management System) media in learning has a positive impact on learning outcomes and cadet activities. For lecturers, it can help lecturers' work and save lecturers' work time in preparing lecture materials.

Abstract

Kondisi infrastruktur yang kurang memadai di Dusun Ngobo, khususnya sistem drainase, telah lama menjadi penghambat aktivitas warga dan menurunkan produktivitas masyarakat. Melalui program pengabdian kepada masyarakat, tim dari Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia bekerja sama dengan warga setempat untuk membangun gorong-gorong sebagai solusi terhadap permasalahan genangan air dan kerusakan jalan. Kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang mencakup survei lapangan, perencanaan teknis, pelaksanaan pembangunan, serta evaluasi pasca proyek. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa titik-titik strategis di wilayah tersebut mengalami genangan saat hujan deras akibat tidak adanya saluran pembuangan air yang memadai. Solusi yang diterapkan meliputi pembangunan gorong-gorong beton bertulang dan pelatihan masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan saluran. Evaluasi awal menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kelancaran akses jalan dan penurunan risiko banjir. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan berbasis kebutuhan lokal dengan pendekatan kolaboratif dapat memberikan dampak berkelanjutan terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat. Model ini diharapkan menjadi contoh bagi pelaksanaan program serupa di wilayah pedesaan lainnya.

Abstract

Sensor MQ-7 merupakan sensor yang memiliki sensitivitas tinggi terhadap karbon monoksida (CO) yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur emisi gas buang mesin kapal. Gas CO merupakan salah satu dari beberapa jenis gas yang dihasilkan oleh mesin kapal. Emisi gas buang kapal tersebut perlu dikendalikan melalui peratuan untuk mengotrol emisi melalui Marine Pollution atau Marpol. Penelitian ini merupakan kelanjutan dari penelitian sebelumnya yang menggunakan sensor MQ 135 namun kali ini menggunakan sensor MQ-7 untuk mendeteksi gas buang mesin kapal dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sensor MQ-7 digunakan sebagai sensor pendeteksi gas buang kapal. Hasil pembacaan dari sensor MQ-7 dikirim ke komputer oleh arduino untuk dibaca melalui serial monitor yang terdapat pada software arduino IDE dan Visual Basic. Titik Pengukuran dari sensor MQ 7 adalah ujung cerobong dari mesin induk kapal yang terdapat di laboratorium real engine Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia. Untuk membandingkan hasil pengukuran maka dilakukan beberapa perbandingan objek penelitian antara lain menggunakan asap kertas yang dibakar, sepeda motor berbahan. Hasil pengujian sensor MQ-7 pada mesin induk kapal menunjukkan respon kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 3,09 kemudian dilakukan perbandingan dengan kertas yang dibakar terjadi kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 7,37 dan jika dibandingkan dari pengukuran sepeda motor  terjadi kenaikan dari 2,53 menjadi 14,41. Respon waktu dari sensor ini bekerja dengan cepat dari nilai rendah ke tinggi dan lambat pada saat nilai tinggi ke rendah.
