Abstract

This research discusses the suitability of content through visual communication on Instagram social media to the concept of religious moderation. In the dynamics of da’wah using online digital media such as Instagram, several problems have been discovered, one of them is da’wah content which is considered less moderate. Problems occur due to various differences in viewpoints, mazhab, and understanding regarding da’wah material. The delivery of the da’wah material is considered to conflict with the ministry of religion's concept of religious moderation. The aim of this research is to see and discuss the suitability of da’wah content on Instagram to the concept of religious moderation. The research method uses content analysis and semiotics to understand the message in da’wah content on Instagram, then analyzed based on the concept of religious moderation from the ministry of religion. The results of the discussion showed that some content was considered less than moderate due to several factors, namely the lack of explanation in the description or caption section, which could lead to misunderstanding of the meaning and intent of conveying content on Instagram. Apart from that, visualization in the form of illustrations and symbols can provide different interpretations of the understanding received by mad'u, because not all mad'u, especially Instagram users, can understand the message according to what the Da’i conveys.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the Cirebon City National Zakat Amil Agency (BAZNAS) in the process of collecting and distributing zakat funds at the Cirebon State Islamic Institute (IAIN) and its impact on socio-religious welfare. BAZNAS as the official institution that manages zakat has an important responsibility in ensuring that zakat funds are collected optimally and distributed on target. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, involving in-depth interviews with related parties at BAZNAS and IAIN Cirebon, as well as analysis of relevant documents. The research results show that BAZNAS Cirebon City has succeeded in increasing the collection of zakat funds through various education and outreach programs, as well as improving the distribution system to be more targeted. The positive impact of the distribution of zakat funds can be seen in increasing socio-religious welfare within the IAIN Cirebon environment, including increasing access to education for underprivileged students and strengthening religious activities. This research provides recommendations for developing more effective zakat collection and distribution strategies to achieve broader social and religious welfare.

Abstract

Through the Decision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Number 184 of 2019 and the Decision of the Directorate General of Islamic Education Number 7272 of 2019, the implementation of religious moderation education from various levels of Islamic Education is carried out using a hidden curriculum strategy. The implementation of religious moderation education with hidden curriculum ideally outputs behavior based on moderate Islamic teachings. Since the institutional decision was implemented in 2019, there has been no in-depth study on the implementation of this hidden curriculum. Therefore, this research article will elaborate on the implementation of the hidden curriculum of religious moderation education and correct the alignment between students' understanding and actual behavior regarding religious moderation in State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAN) in the Districts and Cities of Cirebon. Some of the findings based on this research include: 1) school leaders and teachers have a discursive understanding of religious moderation, but not all understand the hidden curriculum in education; 2) religious moderation education is carried out based on each teacher's teaching method; 3) students' contextual understanding of religious moderation, in general, has been developed within the students themselves, but their social environment is homogeneous, making the actualization of factual values about religious moderation unverifiable; and 4) school leaders and teachers lack institutional initiative to develop religious moderation education within the schools they lead.

Abstract

As the political year approaches, Indonesia is faced with societal polarization. This phenomenon gives rise to conflict and division between religious communities as conflicts of interest between each group increasingly emerge. This research aims at the Sambatan Tradition as a portrait of religious moderation as a counter narrative to societal polarization in order to create a year of religious harmony. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive-analytic approach through Robert N. Entman's framing analysis. The results of this research show that the polarization of society ahead of the year of democracy can be broken down by the Sambatan Tradition. The local wisdom values in the Sambat Tradition are relevant to the construction of Al-Qur'an verses which discuss the idea of moderation in upholding peace, tolerance, harmony and mutual cooperation. It is hoped that this research will produce a number of recommendations for the government, society, academics, and the media to explain the polarization of society ahead of the political year according to their respective capacities. The significance of this research is that it offers regulatory ideas that can be implemented by the government as well as being argumentative and constructive for academics.

This paper aims to reveal the meaning of the word ad-dīn according to Muhammad Asad in The Message of the Quran. However, the word ad-dīn has a wide variety of meanings and meanings. The result of this study, the word ad-dīn in the Qur'an according to Muhammad Asad means, namely, Law, Faith, Judgment, Obedience, Moral Law, Dependent, Worship, Pay, Under the King's Law, and Religion. Its contemporary relevance, for Asad, is to understand a word in the Qur'an; First, it must pay attention to the meaning of the word as a whole, comprehensively and deeply. This will give birth to a view of the concept in a unified whole, both the doctrinal aspects and the practical implications of religious practice that will give birth to moderate understanding and action. Second, religions have their own truths. In a sense, each shows the nature of obedience, submission, and belief in the oneness of Allah swt in a religious life that is beneficial and sustainable.

Abstract

The topic discussed in this article is the intricacies associated with the common link theory. This theory was first introduced by Joseph Schacht and further developed by G.H.A. Juynboll. It was in the hands of Juynboll that this theory showed its strength. This theory has the dictum that argumentum e silentio; and the more perfect the isnād, the later the tradition, so that the more transmission lines meet, either leading to or leaving it, the greater the transmitter and transmission has a historical claim. For them, the theory can be used to trace the time of appearance, author, as well as transmitter of the hadith that is the object of their research. This transmitter is called the common link. The logical consequence is that many of the Prophetic traditions cannot be historically accounted for.
