Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The incidence of TB in Indonesia (WHO 2018) is the third highest. Meanwhile in Bali, TB cases are increasing by 5% every year. This research is a non-experimental descriptive observational study with a cross sectional design. There are 73 medical record samples (2019-2020) in this study. The results showed that the majority of TB patients were new cases, were of productive age with male gender. There are 34% of patients are active smokers and 13.7% of patients have a family history of tuberculosis infection. There are about 6 patients with anemia and 5 other patients have a history of diabetes. The OAT treatment period, the majority of patients complained of side effects of nausea (64.4%), and dizziness (47.9%) with a success rate of around 78.1%. This research still requires further analysis to find out the relationship between the variables studied.

Abstract

The average age for first having sexual intercourse outside of marriage, which is 14-19 years, is one of the causes of the risk of cervical cancer. This research compares the knowledge level on cervical cancer prevention among class X high school female students in public versus the private schools within the Badung Regency. A cross-sectional comparative study is used as the study designed, which includes a total sample of 336 female students (n=336) by utilizing questionnaires. Bivariate analysis with Interdependent T-test and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPPS) is appropriate for analyzing the gathered research data. The results of this study between public and private high schools in Badung Regency have different levels of knowledge about cervical cancer prevention. Data analysis shows that 99 (29.5%) female respondents in public high schools know about cervical cancer prevention, and only 80 (23.8%) female students from private schools. The findings of this study imply that school-based teaching is critical for increasing understanding and lowering cervical cancer rates, as well as collaborating with the health department to provide cervical cancer counseling and installing health-related information media in the school environment.

Abstract

Kelainan refraksi adalah gangguan pada penglihatan yang utama serta pemicu kedua kebutaan di dunia. Gangguan pada penglihatan yang diakibatkan oleh kelainan refraksi adalah masalah yang wajib diperhatikan mengingat mampu menurunkan taraf hidup pada masa mendatang. Penelitian bertujuan mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang prevalensi serta melakukan analisis faktor risiko kelainan refraksi pada mahasiswa baru Program Studi Kedokteran Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Warmadewa Angkatan 2020. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Warmadewa selama bulan Desember 2020-Februari 2021. Penelitian ini termasuk observasional analitik menggunakan desain cross sectional serta telah melewati ethical clearance. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 114 mahasiswa dipilih dengan simple random sampling. Data didapatkan melalui pengisian angket dan pemeriksaan ketajaman penglihatan menggunakan kartu Snelen serta pinhole. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan prevalensi kelainan refraksi pada mahasiswa baru Angkatan 2020 Fakultas Kedokteran dan Ilmu Kesehatan Universitas Warmadewa sebesar 59,6%. Hasil pengujian chi square menunjukkan faktor risiko yang berhubungan dengan kelainan refraksi antara lain, yaitu riwayat orang tua (p = 0,000), jarak membaca (p = 0,021), lama membaca (p=0,022), lama penggunaan ponsel (p = 0,000), lama penggunaan komputer (p = 0,013), frekuensi aktivitas di luar ruangan (p = 0,028) serta lama aktivitas di luar ruangan (p = 0,019). Hasil uji regresi logistik menunjukkan responden dengan riwayat orang tua mengalami kelainan refraksi berisiko 7,340 kali menderita kelainan refraksi (p = 0,002) dan responden dengan lama penggunaan ponsel ≥2 jam berisiko 16,407 kali menderita kelainan refraksi (p = 0,000).

Abstract

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervous, and other unpleasant feelings. About one in three medical students worldwide experience anxiety. Anxiety experienced by students can make them suffer from insomnia. Insomnia is defined as a sleep disorder characterized by complaints of difficulty falling asleep, remaining asleep, and poor sleep quality. Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is one of the exams that triggers anxiety in medical students. This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and the severity of insomnia among third semester students in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Warmadewa University in facing the OSCE in 2021. A cross-sectional study with correlational quantitative approach was conducted on the respondents (n = 111). The respondents was selected using purposive sampling method. The data was collected using self-data questionnaire, as well as Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS), and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) questionnaires. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive analysis, statistical analysis with Spearman Rank correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing with p-value on Sig (2-tailed) using SPSS software. The result shows that there is a positive correlation between the level of anxiety and the severity of insomnia with a moderate correlation strength (r=0.494) and statistically significant (p=0.001).

Abstract

Positive emotions are emotions that can bring positive feelings to someone who experiences them. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the positive emotional role of SLB-C teachers on the attitudes of mentally retarded children in SLB Negeri 1 Badung. This study was designed using a qualitative approach. The sample used in this study were five respondents from SLB Negeri 1 Badung teachers and five respondents from parents of mentally retarded children who attended SLB Negeri 1 Badung. In this data collection using interview and observation methods and, the selected informants are communicative and willing to provide information. Furthermore, the analysis of interview data with interactive analysis, in this analysis is carried out interactively and continues until the data is saturated. The steps in this analysis are making interview transcripts, analyzing data in the form of coding, describing the results of the data in the form of narration and interpreting the data. The results of this study indicate that positive emotions affect the attitude of mentally retarded children from the point of view of parents revealing that their children are no longer hyperactive and can carry out activities independently while at home and at school. In addition, the effect of applying teaching with positive emotions such as a happy attitude, patience, sincerity, affection and attention has an impact on mentally retarded children. The influence is that the environmental conditions during class are more conducive and mentally retarded children can feel more comfortable and calm and can communicate with their teachers, this communication can be seen from the teacher's questions and answers to students.

Abstract

Women who experience menopause are described as experiencing many problems, among others, experiencing physical and psychological changes such as anxiety. The study aimed to determine the relationship between physical changes and anxiety in menopausal women in Pupuan Village. Respondents in this study were women who had experienced menopause who lived in Pupuan Village. This research is a quantitative research with a survey design (non-experimental). The data were collected in a cross sectional manner, because the measurement of the independent and dependent variable was carried out simultaneously. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling with a minimum sample size of 82 people. Data were collected using the Hamilton Rating Scale of Anxiety (HRS-A) questionnaire. The results showed that most respondents experienced physical changes in the moderate category as many as 38 people (46.3%). As for the level of anxiety, the majority of respondents experienced moderate category anxiety as many as 30 people (36.6%). Based on the Chi-Square analysis test result, a significance score of 0.027 (<0.05) was obtained. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between physical changes and anxiety.

Abstract

COVID-19 menjadi patogen penyebab utama outbreak penyakit pernapasan yang terjadi di seluruh dunia. 30.949.804 kasus COVID-19 sudah tekonfirmasi sejak 21 September 2020 dan yang meninggal sebanyak 959.116 jiwa di seluruh dunia. Masih terdapat perbedaan pendapat mengenai beberapa penyakit yang mendasari perburukan kondisi pasien COVID-19. Studi ini bertujuan guna mengidentifikasi relasihubungan antara komorbiditas dengan derajat keparahan infeksi COVID-19 di RSUD Sanjiwani. Metode studi yang dimanfaatkan yakni analisa observasional melalui pendekatan cross sectional, dengan menganalisis data sekunder berupa rekam medis. Sampel berjumlah 164 individu yang sudah memenuhi ketentuan inklusi dan eksklusi, diperoleh memanfaatkan Consecutive sampling. Data dianalisis denganSPSS. Uji Chi-square dan pengujian regresi logistik ganda dimanfaatkan guna mengidentifikasi relasikomorbiditas dengan derajat keparahan infeksi COVID-19. Berdasarkan hasil regresi logistik ganda diperoleh faktor komorbid derajat keparahan infeksi COVID-19 adalah hipertensi, diabetes mellitus tipe 2, PPOK, TB Paru, gagal jantung kronis. Faktor komorbid yang paling dominan adalah TB paru (Exp(B)=12,566 CI 95% ; 3,560 - 44,353).

Abstract

Abstract [The Relationship between Self Efficacy and Stress Levels in New Students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Warmadewa University Class of 2020] Stress is a psychological problem that many children, adolescents and adults encounter. In Riskesdas (2018), 9.8% of the 15-year-old Indonesian population has emotional problems such as stress. Freshmen will face various difficulties due to different learning situations from the past. This will affect the psychological status of students, one of which is characterized by stress, which interferes with daily activities or leads to suicidal ideation. Self-efficacy is an internal factor that affects the level of stress. When self-efficacy is high, stress levels are low. The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between self-efficacy and freshmen's stress level. This study is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional study model. The measurement tools used are the DASS-42 questionnaire to assess stress levels and the GSES questionnaire to measure self-efficacy. The sample used was a 2020 batch of 100 new FKIK University Warmadewa students, who were selected using simple random sampling. The collected data is analyzed using the SPSS application. The hypothesis test used is Spearman rank correlation test as a bivariate analysis, which shows that there is a significant negative effect between self-efficacy and stress level (r = -0.620 and p-value = 0.000) The chi-square test showed that compared with high self-efficacy, the risk of experiencing stress with low self-efficacy was 18.857 times higher (95% CI = 2,413 – 146,727 and p-value = 0.000). Abstract

Contact Lenses are one of the popular specialized innovations in the field of ophthalmology which very common in society. This is supported by the large number of contact lens wearers worldwide, which has reached 125 million people, while the prevalence of eyeglass/contact lens wearers in Indonesia reaches 2.9% between the 15–24-year age group. Now contact lenses are not only seen as health aids but also as products that can support the lifestyle and the cosmetic field. The type of contact lens that is widely used is Soft Contact Lens (SCL) with various lengths of use ranging from daily to yearly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of wearing soft contact lenses with complaints of dry eye syndrome. This study was a quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach using purposive sampling. The research was conducted on 2017-2020 students at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Warmadewa University with a total of 68 respondents. The data collection method used the Contact Lens Dry Eye Questionnaire-8 (CLDEQ-8) questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariate and bivariate using chi-square statistical test and then followed by Spearman's rank correlation test to determine the degree of relationship. The average duration of daily use of soft contact lenses is 7.58±2.711 hours. The study found that the P-value exceeded the significance level of 0.05 (P = 0.965) and the r-value was 0.005. The conclusion is there is no relationship and very weak correlation between the length of using soft contact lenses and complaints of dry eye syndrome.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a livable disease and its increased every year. (DM) victim are prone to skin infections, one of which is dermatophytes. Uncontrolled blood sugar levels in DM patients are prone to dermatophytosis. The objective of research was to understand correlation controlled blood sugar and dermatophytosis in patients with type2 diabetes mellitus. The research done in research an analytical observational use case control type. The minimum sample number of cases is 35 people and the minimum sample of control is 35 people acording with the requirement of inclusion and exclusion. The research is worked in the Tabanan General Hospital in 2020 – 2021 using medical records which was then analyzed univariately to see the characteristics of the subject and the comparison of the proportions of each group. Chi-square testing was used to know the correlation between blood sugar control and dermatophytosis. The p-value<0.05 was said to be statistically significant and the p-value>0.05 was said to be insignificant. In the dermatophytosis group, the majority (45.7%) of study subjects were old 31-60 years and majority (62.9%) male. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant difference in proportion of sex and age in the dermatophytotic and non-dermatophytic groups. The most common dermatophytosis was tinea cruris with a proportion of 37.1%. The bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between blood sugar control and dermatophytosis in type2 diabetes mellitus patients (value p = 0.454; OR = 1.45). The conclusion is that there is no significant correlation between blood sugar control and dermatophytosis in type2 diabetes mellitus victim at Tabanan General Hospital. Several factors that influence the research are differences in blood sugar classification standards, differences in basic characteristics, environmental conditions.
