Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is one of the most concerning infectious disease problems. Tabanan regency has one of the highest case fatality rate (CFR) of dengue hemorrhagic fever with the Tabanan sub-district having a relatively high increase on 2018 – 2019 period. DHF tends to affect children and increasing its mortality rate. There are several risk factors contributing to the higher incidence of DHF such as human as its host-related risk factors, mosquito as its vector-related risk factors, and the environment itself as one of the risk factors. This study used descriptive methods with cross sectional study design. The data collected in this study is primary data gathered by questionnaire on October – Desember 2021. The subject were children under the age of 18 years in the Puskesmas Tabanan I with criteria qualified, as many as 90 peoples. Univariative sampling by frequency distribution table as its data analysis method. The result of this study indicates that the majority of the dengue hemorrhagic fever cases occurs in the age group of 10-14 years old (35,42 %) and occur mostly in men (58,33 %). Regarding host-related risk factors, children with more outdoor activity (68,75 %) and infrequent us of mosquito repellent (77,09 %) were associated with higher incidence of DHF and regarding the “PSN” activity, higher incidence was found in children/family with habitual garbage cleaning of only once in two weeks (95,82 %), keeping their garbage uncovered (66,67 %), and never recycled their garbage (50 %). Most of the children with DHF rarely used abate in their bathroom(68,75%) and not having the habit of hanging their clothes in the room (64,58 %). From the results of this study, it is hoped that it can give special attention to groups at risk and be used as a reference for further research.

Abstract

Changes in the physiological condition of the body and various diseases can cause symptoms that manifest on the skin, one of those is acne vulgaris. Acne vulgaris is a condition of chronic inflammation of the sebaceous follicular unit one of it’s cause is Propionibactrium acnes infection and is very common in adolescence and can occur from pre-puberty to adulthood. Body Mass Index (BMI) is suspected to be one of the risk factors for acne vulgaris. This study aims to find the correlation between BMI and the incidence of acne vulgaris among Medical Faculty and Health Science Warmadewa University Students. The method of the study was analyzed observational which cross sectional approach. The BMI was measured by body weight (kg) devided by body height squared (m2) and incidence acne vulgaris by Global Acne Grading System. The samples were carried out on 120 students and the data were analyzed using SPSS 22. The results were showed as follows: there was a relationship between BMI and severity of acne vulgaris. The conclusion could be drawn that the relationship between BMI and acne vulgaris incidence was significant with p-value of 0,002 (p <0.05) and with Prevalence Risk (PR) of 1,19 (CI 95%, 1,003 – 1,413), thus students with underweight to normal BMI have risk of developing acne vulgaris with mild to moderate severity 1,19 times greater than students with overweight to obese BMI.. It could be recommended that students should be prevented from acne vulgaris by maintaining BMI in normal range . Abstract

Preeclampsia is an idiopathic multisystem disorder that affects 2-8% of pregnancies worldwide. It usually occurs after 20 weeks of pregnancy and affects both the mother and fetus. This study aims to determine the difference in the value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and mean platelet volume (MPV) between women with preeclampsia and normotensive pregnant women. This is a cross-sectional comparation study using patient’s medical record conducted in Sanjiwani Gianyar Public Hospital. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling, with 60 samples in each group. The data collected then analyzed using SPSS for Windows by independent sampled-t-test. The result shows that the NLR, PLR and MPV values in women with preeclampsia were significantly different from normotensive pregnant woman. The NLR, PLR, and MPV values were found higher in women with preeclampsia, with mean difference value of 0.93 for the NLR variable (p=0.011), 21.97 for the PLR variable (p=0.011) and 0.47 for the MPV variable (p=0.008). The predictive value is seen from the effect size (Cohen's delta) where the three variables are included in the moderate category.

Abstract

Premature rupture of membranes (PROM) is the rupture of the membranes before delivery. PROM occurs at 37 weeks gestation or more and PPROM occurs before 37 weeks gestation. One of the risk factors for PROM is infection that begins with the entry of bacteria into the intraamnion from the ascending urogenital tract or infection of systemic origin. Elevated leukocyte levels are a sign of infection. This study aims to determine the difference between maternal leukocyte levels of PROM and PPROM. The research design used was descriptive analytic method with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling method. Data were analyzed using the Saphiro Wilk test for normality and the Independent Sample T Test to compare the difference in the mean of the two different groups. The results of the Saphiro Wilk test obtained values of 0.107 and 0.086, respectively (P>0.05), which means that the data is normally distributed. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of p=0.008. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the number of leukocytes between PROM and PPROM at the Sanjiwani Regional General Hospital, Gianyar.
