The Aesthetics and Film Sciences Expertise is a group of expertise that covers areas of study that are more scientific and related to film practice The subjects included in this expertise are in the scientific areas of Television Film History Television Film Studies Film and Television Semiotics Film and Television Aesthetics Archipelago Cultural Analysis Methodology Film and Television Production Management Media and Cultural Literacy and Film and Television Criticism Television developed in the FTV curriculum This KBK is more related to the profession of filmmaking practitioner directors producers editors camera engineers sound engineers artistic directors film actors documentary filmmakers casting action and visual effects such as screenwriters critics film historians film curators film lecturers film managers and experts film conservation Popular culture and mass media have a relationship like two sides of a coin knitting into an inseparable whole The popularity of a culture is very dependent on the mass media to be introduced and then become part of peoples lives For the mass media constructing and exposing culture to be popularized has become the pulse of life It is not surprising then that todays mass media are familiar as creators and owners of popular cultural content In addition to marketing the culture itself the media also tries to always present programs that are loved by the community While in the Motion Picture Aesthetics KBK the focus is on the profession of film and other motion picture practitioners such as animation the KBK for Media Studies and Popular Culture tries to see the potential of other professions that do not only study moving pictures Producer profession content production related to the broadcasting industry to studies related to programs carried out in other work practices which are related to the process of disseminating information to a wide audience So the professions that are part of the main focus in the KBK for Media Studies and Popular Culture are important factors especially in the current era of new media

<![CDATA[Each country has a different culture with its own uniqueness. Each country also has its own way of maintaining its culture, either through education, festivals, formal or informal education, etc. However, in practice many countries have difficulties. Therefore, several countries maintain their culture through one of the arts fields, one of which is the film Raya The Last Dragon. Film Raya and The Last Dragon is a film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film was directed by Don Hall and Calos Lopes Estrada and the screenplay was written by Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim. This film tells the story of a female warrior named Raya who lives with animals as well as a means of transportation named Tuktuk in a prosperous land, until finally becoming a dystopia world. In this film there are scenes that show several cultures in Southeast Asia. Thus, researchers are interested in re-representing and describing the culture of Southeast Asia to be conveyed in the film. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, based on the philosophy of postpositivism, which is used to examine the condition of natural objects. From the results of this study, researchers can conclude that the film Raya and The Last Dragon presents the country of Kumandra which characterizes cultures in Southeast Asia. The purpose of this film is to show unity in differences, accept each other and coexist in many differences.]]>

<![CDATA[Orientalism describes how the method or way to understand the Eastern world based on geography in the view of Western people, especially the European region. Orientalism explains that the culture and ideology of the Eastern world is believed to be one of the civilizations of the Europeans, judging from its historical heritage such as human civilization, language, and culture. However, this raises a discussion of political issues which are part of the postcolonial discourse, namely the discourse on the identity of the dominant group in the power structure of political representation. This study uses a qualitative method with an analytical descriptive approach and the source of the data obtained is from the Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series and Tom Clancy's original novel. The results of this study are to describe and analyze the interpretation and depiction of orientalism regarding the East and West through television series shows.]]>

<![CDATA[Costumes and make-up are important aspects of the film's artistic system, the film Bumi Manusia by Director Hanung Bramantyo has a costume and make-up concept to complement the impression of a background story with the theme of life in the Dutch era in the past, the management process requires the expertise of the divisions. or an artistic arrangement crew that is able to coordinate and create according to the needs of the film script. This study aims to determine the extent of the process and the results carried out to achieve the suitability that has been broken down by the artistic crew for harmony and satisfaction with the audience in assessing the film, especially the existence of the costumes and make-up used. The method used in making this journal is descriptive qualitative about how theory becomes the main thing in ongoing problems. The findings of this study show that the concept of costume and makeup, which is one of the artistic parts, is considered through in-depth research. So the concept of costumes and makeup in this film gives the character a strong whole story between the natives (Indonesia) and the Colonial invaders (the Netherlands). The implications of this research can be a reference for film artistic directors.]]>

<![CDATA[Public service advertising is a government program that aims to educate the public on good values from the state's point of view. As the name implies, public service advertisements contain the word "advertisement" which means there is a "product" that is expected to be accepted and then consumed by the wider community. In public service advertisements, the advertised "products" are in the form of good values with the main goal of being able to benefit the government and the citizens themselves. In this study, the researcher will dissect a public service advertisement in the form of a video by using descriptive qualitative methods and using the aesthetic theory of applied media which is the scalpel. There are five aspects of research that become a reference for researchers in dissecting the work of this video advertisement, including: light and color, two-dimensional space, three-dimensional space, time/motion and sound. The results of this study indicate that the public service advertisement video "Tetap Fokus di Jalan" is successful in conveying the message in the form of a slick, interesting and creative video. From the five aspects of the research, this video advertisement is quite successful in presenting all five perfectly. So that it can support the plot of the story to be more dramatic. The packaging of this advertising video is sufficient to keep up with the times so that it can be accepted by young people who seem to be the main target of their audience]]>

<![CDATA[This research was motivated by the outpouring of the security guards at the Andes Cluster security post, which is where the researcher lives. many things are discussed by the security guards including the existence of one eye on the security guard profession and their salaries are not worth the risk. This one eye view also makes it seem as if the security guard profession is a lowly profession compared to others, such as the police or other security forces. So, it can be formulated in this research that how the security guard is underestimated by many people and how is the security guard's welfare. The purpose of this study was to determine the true view of the security guard profession and to determine the welfare of security guards with high job risks. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with an analytical descriptive approach. That is, an approach that analyzes, describes and summarizes various conditions, situations from various data from interviews or observations about problems directly in the field. From interviews and observations made, it was explained that their salary was very small, only 1.6 million rupiah. Meanwhile, the views of the residents themselves on their profession are not all looked down on. Indeed, we should not look down on the security guard profession. Even though they seemed to be just relaxing, the responsibility they received was heavy. The issue of a salary increase is not easy, because the security guard can't do anything. It is the foundation, the developer and the residents who can make the security guard's salary increase.]]>

<![CDATA[Metaphors are often found and or used in many literary works, one of which is song lyrics. This research was conducted with the aim of deciphering the types of metaphors contained in the lyrics of Tulus's song "Hati-Hati di Jalan". This research is a descriptive qualitative research type because the object of research is not in the form of numbers and is a document content, the object of this research is in the form of a type of expression and metaphorical meaning on the song "Hati-Hati di Jalan".Data collection techniques are by listening and recording techniques. Based on the results of research on the type of metaphorical expression and the meaning of metaphor expressions in the song "Hati-Hati di Jalan'' it can be concluded that (1) Types of metaphors found are 2 anthropomorphic metaphors (anthropomorphic metaphors) and three synesthetic metaphors. (2) The meaning of the metaphorical expression used is generally one line consisting of one meaning, but for related meanings, the data exists in one stanza.The use of this metaphor has been arranged so beautifully and neatly that the song can be enjoyed well and can affect the feelings of its listeners. This study aims to describe the type of metaphorical expression in one of the Sincere songs entitled "Hati-Hati di Jalan", and the metaphorical meaning of the song.]]>

In this study, researchers will analyze how the influence of the film Imperfect on the audience's perception that is devoted to students. <![CDATA[hotocopier is a film released in 2021 and directed by Wregas Bhanuteja. This film is a mystery thriller drama genre that raises the issue of sexual violence which is considered sensitive and taboo among Indonesian people. The rise of sexual harassment cases in Indonesia encourages researchers to examine this. The Ministry of Education and Culture (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology) explained that there are four classes of sexual harassment, namely: 1) verbal, 2) non-physical, 3) physical, and 4) online or through information and communication technology. Then, there are at least ten types of examples of sexual harassment other than rape. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The researcher as a data collection instrument will conduct a literature study and a documentary study on the film Pengalin Cahaya in an effort to see the context of sexual harassment that appears in the show. From this study, it was found that the sexual harassment that occurred in this film was included in the category of physical sexual harassment. The perpetrators of sexual harassment in this film harass the opposite sex and same-sex partners who are partners in an organization on their campus. The perpetrators also cover up the crimes they have committed with the power they have. This proves the truth regarding research conducted in several countries that sexual harassment generally occurs in a place that is considered 'safe', where the sexual harassment that occurs in this film takes place on a campus where a place is considered 'safe' by the victim. As for the theory put forward by Fairchild and Rudhman (2008) regarding the organizational model approach, sexual harassment has a great chance if it is facilitated by power relations in a hierarchical structure. This theory is proven by the behavior carried out by the perpetrator of sexual harassment in this film, where he abuses the power and wealth of his parents to cover up crimes and silence the victim's mouth for his behavior.]]>
