Abstract

This study aims to analyze the electrical energy performance of the PLN UP3 Bangkinang Office Building through a partial energy audit and to determine the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) as an indicator of energy efficiency. The methodology includes collecting historical electricity consumption data for 2024–2025, inventorying lighting and air conditioning systems, measuring illumination levels (lux) and indoor temperature, and evaluating compliance with SNI 6196:2011, SNI 6197:2020, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation No. 3 of 2025. The results indicate that the EUI value of the PLN UP3 Bangkinang Office Building was 39.33 kWh/m²/year in 2024 and 40.28 kWh/m²/year in 2025, with an average of 39.81 kWh/m²/year. These values are below the benchmark of EUI < 70 kWh/m²/year, categorizing the building as highly efficient. The lighting system analysis shows that most rooms comply with the maximum lighting power density (W/m²) standard, except for the Cendana Meeting Room, which exceeds the limit. In terms of illumination level, several rooms do not meet the minimum lux standard and require optimization without significantly increasing power consumption. Meanwhile, the air conditioning system operates within a comfortable temperature range and is in good condition, contributing to stable overall energy consumption. Overall, the PLN UP3 Bangkinang Office Building demonstrates highly efficient energy performance, with opportunities for improvement in lighting distribution optimization and sustainable energy management practices to maintain a balance between energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Abstract

The use of rooftop solar power plants is one of the strategic solutions to support the energy transition and increase use of renewable energy in the industrial sector. This study aims to analyze the potential and performance of rooftop solar power plants at PT. Waruna Nusa Sentana building located in Medan City, North Sumatra, using a simulation approach based on HelioScope software. The analysis was carried out by utilizing Typical Meteorological Year weather data and technical parameters of the Photovoltaic (PV) system designed according geographical conditions and tropical climate of the study location. simulation results show that rooftop solar power system with an installed capacity of 47.36 kWp is capable of producing 66,699 kWh of annual electrical energy with a specific yield of 1,408.3 kWh/kWp/year. The system performance evaluation resulted in a performance ratio of 80.2%, indicating that the rooftop solar power system works efficiently and is in the good performance category for tropical regions. Loss analysis indicates that the largest energy losses come from the effects of cell temperature, followed by losses due to module mismatch, reflection, and losses in the inverter and AC system. Manual calculations performed as analytical verification demonstrated consistency with the simulation results, thus strengthening the validity of the approach used. This study demonstrates that the implementation of rooftop solar power plants in industrial buildings in Medan City is technically feasible and can be used as a reference in the planning and development of rooftop solar power plants in tropical regions with similar climate characteristics

Abstract

Hydropower plants (PLTA) remain the largest contributor to renewable energy generation capacity in Indonesia. As of October 2025, renewable energy generation capacity was recorded at 15,446.85 MW, with hydro contributing 6,539.17 MW and micro-hydro contributing 976.18 MW. Many micro-hydro locations operate in areas with limited access, so routine generator output checks are still often carried out through periodic visits to the location. Field observations reported in previous studies show that output conditions can fluctuate widely when there are load changes, including voltages from 160 V to 235 V and frequencies from 44 Hz to 51 Hz, which can potentially affect service quality and equipment operation. This study designed and implemented an Internet of Things (IoT)-based monitoring system to measure and report generator output voltage, load current, and frequency in real-time. The prototype integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, an AC energy measurement module, a local LCD display, and a cloud dashboard for remote visualization and time-stamped logging. The polling and transmission processes in the firmware are configured with a 5-second sampling interval to capture the dynamics caused by load changes while maintaining stable data delivery. Performance evaluation includes calibration against reference instruments, measurement of data update latency from acquisition to display on the dashboard, and tracking of transmission reliability through upload outcomes. The results of the study demonstrate a practical monitoring architecture, improve data availability for operators, and support operational decision-making without relying on frequent site visits.

Abstract

Toddlerhood is a critical period in a child’s growth and development that significantly affects future health and cognitive outcomes. Adequate nutritional intake during this stage is essential to prevent growth disorders, particularly stunting. The Indonesian government has implemented various intervention programs, including the Supplementary Feeding Program (Pemberian Makanan Tambahan/PMT), to improve toddlers’ nutritional status and reduce stunting, especially in areas with high nutritional challenges. In Karang Rejo Village, the PMT program is actively implemented through community health posts (posyandu). However, the management of PMT data, including beneficiary records, monitoring of weight and height, and feeding schedules, is still conducted manually. This manual approach leads to data inaccuracies, difficulties in tracking historical records, potential data loss, and delays in reporting. In addition, the lack of integrated data hinders health workers and cadres from conducting effective and regular monitoring, which may impact the accuracy of nutritional interventions for toddlers at risk of stunting. To address these issues, this study proposes the development of a web-based monitoring system for the PMT program. The system is designed to facilitate structured data recording, periodic monitoring of toddlers’ nutritional status, and real-time reporting accessible to authorized users. The implementation of this system is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of PMT services, support timely decision-making, and contribute to government efforts in reducing stunting rates and improving the overall health status of toddlers in Karang Rejo Village.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) producing ulos woven fabrics play an important role in cultural preservation as well as community economic development. However, at Vanny Situmeang Ulos Tarutung MSME, product orders are still carried out through direct conversations or short messages, resulting in poorly documented order records, difficulty in tracking orders, and potential errors. In addition, customers experience difficulties in obtaining product information and monitoring order progress. This condition also limits the marketing reach of the products. This study aims to provide a web-based pre-order service for ulos woven fabric products that can assist order management, facilitate customers in placing orders, and expand marketing coverage. The method used is the prototype method, which involves creating an initial model based on user requirements, followed by evaluation and refinement until the final result is achieved. Research data were obtained through observation and interviews with the MSME owner. The results show that the web-based pre-order service is able to store order data in an organized manner, facilitate order management by the MSME, and provide convenience for customers in accessing product information and placing orders. Furthermore, the web platform enables the products to reach a wider audience, thereby increasing sales potential. Therefore, the developed service can support the sustainable growth of ulos woven fabric MSMEs.

Abstract

Efficient use of electrical energy is a crucial aspect in the management of public facilities, including houses of worship. In church parking areas, manual lighting systems often lead to electricity waste. This research aims to implement lighting automation technology by utilizing an Arduino Uno microcontroller and a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor. Through a prototype design approach, this system was developed to detect the level of light intensity in the surrounding environment in real-time. Test results show the effectiveness of the system in controlling the lights: the device will activate the lights when the light intensity is above 850 lux (dim/dark conditions) and deactivate them when below 849 lux (bright conditions). The implementation of this innovation is expected to reduce electricity operational costs while increasing safety factors in the church environment.

Abstract

Beauty salons are service businesses that require precise management of service schedules and product stocks to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction. Manual reservation and stock management has the potential to cause recording errors, schedule conflicts, and product inventory discrepancies. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a web-based Harni Salon Reservation and Stock Information System. The research methods used include system requirements analysis, system design using modeling diagrams, PHP and MySQL-based system implementation, and functional testing using the black box testing method. The results of the study indicate that the system is able to manage customer data, services, reservations, and product stocks in an integrated manner and displays reservation and inventory report information well. This system also allows customers to make service reservations independently based on available schedules, while the admin can confirm reservations and monitor product stocks in real-time. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of a web-based information system can improve operational efficiency and service quality at Harni Salon. The benefits of this study are expected to be a reservation and stock management solution for salon businesses and become a reference for the development of similar systems in the future.

Abstract

School libraries play an important role in supporting learning activities and improving students’ literacy. However, library management in many junior high schools is still carried out manually, causing various problems such as difficulties in searching book data, high risk of recording errors in borrowing and returning transactions, and delays in report generation. This study aims to design and implement a web-based library system to improve the efficiency of library management at SMP Negeri 18 Medan. The research method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, which consists of problem identification, data collection, requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and system testing. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature study. The results show that the developed web-based library system is able to manage book collections, member data, and borrowing and returning transactions in an integrated and accurate manner. In addition, the system facilitates report generation and improves access to library information for students and teachers. Therefore, the proposed system is considered an effective solution for enhancing the quality of school library services and supporting the utilization of information technology in the educational sector.

Abstract

Inventory management is an important activity in educational institutions to ensure that facilities and infrastructure can be monitored and utilized effectively. SMP Negeri 18 Medan still manages inventory data manually using separate physical records and spreadsheet files, which leads to data redundancy, recording errors, and difficulties in searching and reporting inventory information. This study aims to develop a web-based inventory data management information system to improve the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management at SMPN 18 Medan. The research methodology used is a software development method based on the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system is developed using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL as the database. The results show that the developed system is able to organize inventory data centrally, facilitate data search, support asset monitoring, and generate inventory reports more efficiently. The system helps reduce recording errors and supports better decision-making related to school asset management.
