IJEAT publishes original papers only and the submission of a manuscript will be taken to imply that the contributions are original and that no similar manuscript has been or is being submitted to other journals. Manuscripts are solicited from all areas of specialization in engineering. IJEAT is an international and multidisciplinary journal. The major goal of the journal is to communicate advances in engineering and applied technology, with a particular preference to Asia, to researchers, practicing engineers and decision makers of developing countries. IJEAT publishes peer-reviewed research papers (both theoretical and applied) and state-of-the-art reviews related to Engineering and technology. The scope of the journal includes mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, power engineering, environmental engineering, postharvest technology, food technology, biotechnology and emerging technologies. Subjects of basic engineering and science such as instrumentation, machinery design, human factor and ergonomics, global warming, renewable energy, climate change, terramechanics and new materials are also included in the scope of IJEAT.

Abstract

The problem of bird pests has become a serious problem in the sector of agriculture since ancient times. Bird pest attacks, especially sparrows, Church and bondol have a big influence on the quality and quantity of rice produced by farmers. This causes a decline in the economic level of people in rural areas, especially farmers. Traditional methods which are often used by farmers, such as making sounds from used cans stretched using rope can be a temporary solution to this problem, however, as the largest agricultural country in Asia Southeast of course Indonesia should implement progress and very advanced technological developments to help with problems in the agricultural sector. Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Mobile technology Applications to develop a bird pest repellent tool Smart is expected to be a very effective solution. With integration on IoT devices, this tool has the ability to repel bird pests automatically when it detects bird objects. Results It is hoped that this research will provide great benefits and optimize rice harvest so that it can improve the welfare of farmers and Indonesian society as a whole.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a running text application using a 16x32 dot matrixmodule controlled by an Arduino Uno and connected via Bluetooth. Thesystem is designed to display moving text messages that can be easily changedthrough a mobile device. The methodology includes designing andprogramming the Arduino to control the dot matrix and implementing the HC05 Bluetooth module for wireless communication. The results indicate thatthe system can display various messages with adjustable speed and direction,as well as a quick response to commands sent via a smartphone app. Testingdemonstrates the system's reliability in various environmental conditions. This running text implementation is expected to be useful in variousapplications, such as public information, advertising, and othercommunication media. The study also contributes to the development ofinteractive systems based on microcontrollers with Bluetooth connectivity.

Abstract

The design of an effective traffic counting system is crucial for improving traffic management in urban environments. This study aims to develop a traffic counting system that utilizes object detection through Internet of Things (IoT)-based cameras. The system employs the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm for real-time vehicle detection, enabling high accuracy in vehicle identification and counting. In this design, a REST API architecture is implemented to ensure efficient data communication between the detection and storage modules, allowing for flexible and scalable data retrieval and analysis. Test results show that this system can provide quick and accurate information regarding traffic flow under various conditions. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to the development of smart city technology and provides a useful tool for traffic analysis and decision-making.
