It consists of 35 students, 25 females and 10 males. The aim of this study were to find out how the IRF between students and teacher in classroom and what factor cause the changes of turn-taking IRF process. The data was gained from video recorder which recorded during English class. The finding indicated that there are some factors that cause the changes of classroom turn-taking IRF: (1) Most of Students lack of English comprehension. (2) Not all of students involve in classroom interaction, and (3) Teacher domination talk is still high. This study was expected to have contribution and overviewing for teachers to enhance the process of the turn-taking in class and to run IRF in a good way. Students not only need to be stimulated in their mind but they also require feedback and appreciation from their teacher.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not picture cards are effective in enhancing the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMPN Kota Baru Kefamenanu, East Nusa Tenggara Province, to identify their difficulties in learning picture types and vocabulary, and to classify their level of mastery. This study used a qualitative approach and a quasi-experimental research methodology to answer the questions posed by the three examples. To collect the necessary data, 20 seventh-grade kids were used as samples. They were instructed and tested twice (pretest and posttest). This study compared the mean score to the degree of freedom at a significance level of 5% to determine the efficacy of using picture cards. To determine their average score, their total number of scores was divided by the total number of students multiplied by the entire number of test items multiplied by 100%. In addition, to identify the challenging types of picture and word, the total number of correct/incorrect answers was divided by the total number of students and the total number of test questions and multiplied by 100 percent. Finally, in order to classify their level of expertise, the total number of students whose scores varied from 0 to 100 was tallied. The analysis of the data indicates that there is a substantial difference between the pre-test and the post-test. It indicates that the mean score on the pre-test was 45.5 (extremely low), but the mean score on the post-test was 81 (excellent) (good). Moreover, the degree of freedom at a significance level of 5% was 1.61. It was greater than the result of the post-significant test's difference, 2.28>1.61. The seventh-grade pupils of SMP Negeri Kota Baru Kefamenanu benefit significantly from the use of picture cards to enhance their vocabulary comprehension.

Abstract

Digital literacy is increasingly being encouraged to support education, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic due to Consumer Mega Shifting, especially Go Virtual. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the implementation of Go Virtual as Digital Literacy for English Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic at two vocational institutes in Bali, namely the Bali Tourism Polytechnic and the International Business and Tourism Institute. The method used was descriptive qualitative where data collection techniques were in the form of questionnaires (76 students) and interviews (4 English lecturers from both universities). Digital literacy creativity in learning English aims to reduce student boredom in receiving online learning and make English learning more interesting and easy to understand, as well as improve thinking skills andgenerate interest, creativity, and independence of students. English Lecturers from these two vocational institutes can also implement digital literacy competencies in seven digital literacy competency areas proposed by UNESCO. However, there are indicators of digital literacy competence that cannot be applied optimally, namely in the area of security competence, programming indicators and copyrights and licenses caused of the limited knowledge and expertise of English lecturers in the field of digital devices.
