Abstract

Organic waste which found around Lambung Mangkurat campus is dominated by dried leaves. The falling leaves have been occuring everyday since the campus covered by many kinds of trees. Therefore it is needed a good waste management system, namely to utilize leave waste to be compost by adding different activators. The purpose of study is to examine the fastest activator to decomposer leave waste, and to know if the compost quality produced by each activators accordance to SNI 19-7031-2004 standard. Composting was carried out for 50 days with treatment (P1) without activator; (P2) chopped leaves + cow dung; (P3) chopped leaves + chicken manure; and (P4) leaf chopped + EM4. The method used was a compIeteIy randomized design method and the data analysis used was a compIete randomized design diversity analysis. This study consisted of 4 treatments with 3 replications. Parameters carried out include pH, moisture content, C-Organic, total N, C / N ratio, Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Iron (Fe). The results of the research for 50 days showed that the fastest composting time was compost with cow dung activator, namely coarse decomposition occurred at week 3 and observation of the pH of all treatments did not meet the SNI standards because above the SNI determined for pH. And for the K content in treatment P1 (without treatment) 0.09% and P4 (EM4) 0.11% did not meet the SNI for potassium levels because it was below 0.20%. The final result of compost using cow manure and chicken manure as activator meets SNI 19-7-30-2004 more than without activator and activator EM4.

Abstract

Cadangan karbon yang terdapat di suatu bentang lahan dapat diestimasi dari hasil pengukuran kandungan karbon satuan-satuan penggunaan lahan yang terdapat di bentang lahan tersebut, yang diintegrasikan dengan data penutupan atau penggunaan hasil klasifikasi dari citra penginderaan jauh. Dalam kasus penelitian ini, bentang lahan yang dimaksud adalah Sub-sub DAS Amandit yang memiliki luas wilayah sekitar 250.470 hektar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung karbon tersimpan di Sub-sub DAS Amandit;            menghitung emisi karbon di Sub-sub DAS Amandit selama periode tahun 1992-2010, berdasarkan data tutupan lahan tahun 1992, 2000 dan 2010; dan memprediksi serta membuat simulasi emisi karbon sampai tahun 2050 berdasarkan data tutupan lahan yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa Hutan Primer memiliki kandungan karbon paling tinggi, yaitu 214,23 Ton/Ha. Sementara Tegalan memiliki kandungan karbon paling rendah, yaitu 1,16 Ton/Ha. Berdasarkan hasil estimasi emisi karbon terlihat bahwa cadangan karbon di Sub-sub DAS Amandit pada periode tahun 1992, 2000 dan 2010 mengalami penurunan. Yakni dari 8.041.050,28 ton pada tahun 1992, menjadi 7.176.139,49 ton pada tahun 2000, dan hanya tersisa 4.476.645,10 ton pada tahun 2010. Ternyata menunjukkan bahwa emisi karbon di Sub-sub DAS Amandit terus turun hingga tahun 2050.Kata Kunci: Cadangan karbon, emisi karbon, sequestrasi karbon

Abstract

Rambatu is one of villages located in the mountainous area in the subdistrict of Inamosol, West Seram regency which has a lot of agricultural and forestry crops so it is a good habitat for birds. Rambatu villages has several species of birds, among others: Cikukua Seram (Philemon subcorniculatus), Kasturi (Lorius garrulus), Nuri Maluku (Eos bornea), Pombo Hutan (Ducula sp), and Nuri Pipi Merah (Geoffroyus geoffroyi). This study aims to determine the diversity of bird species in some altitude and determine the effect of vegetation as habitat on diversityof bird species in the Rambatu forest, Subdistric of Inamosol,West Seram Regency. Bird observation method used in thr VCP (Variable Circular Plot) method and the observations of vegetation is carried out based on the method of ploted lines analysis on the observation tracks. The diversity of bird species found in the Rambatu forestat an altitude 250, 500 and 750 m above sea level (asl) as many as 23 species. Forest at an altitude of 250 m above sea level has H’ = 1,117 by 19 species of birds were found; forest at an altitude of 500 m above sea level has H’ = 0.981 by 18 species of birds, while the forest at an 750 m above sea level has H’ = 0.823 by 11 species of birds. Regression analysis showed that the relationship between density and diversity of vegetation variables did not significantly affect the diversity of bird species, but if the forests conditions are not disturbed where vegetation density and diversity is maintained then will be able to increase the diversity of bird species. Abstract

Watershed Management becomes an important aspect in supporting the conservation of the surrounding area. Upstream area functions as a water catchment area must be kept by maintaining the utilization of the area to avoid the carrying capacity beyond the environment. The role of people in the surrounding area becomes an important effort to maintain the continuity of the function of the Watershed. This study aims to analyze the potency of local institutional support in watershed management. The research method is a case study in which data are collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions and participant observation. The data analysis is conducted by using situation framework approach - structure - behavior - performance. The results show that the utilization of watershednaturalresource is considered as a free open source access where everyone is free to exploit the natural resources in it. This is related to existing conditions which indicate the existence of interdependence between government, private sector and communities being involved in the utilization of shared resources. The behavior of the parties related to the utilization of the Watershed greatly affects the condition of the existing Watershed Areas; where the performance of sub management of Cisadane Upstream watershed has not provided maximum results because the management is still going on sectorally.Keywords: Local Institution; Watershed Managemen; sub management of Cisadane Upstream watershedPengelolaan DAS menjadi aspek penting dalam menunjang pelestarian kawasan sekitarnya. Fungsi daerah hulu sebagai daerah tangkapan air harus dijaga dengan menjaga agar pemanfaatan kawasan agar terhindar dari daya dukung yang melebihi lingkungan. Peran masyarakat di daerah sekitarnya menjadi upaya penting untuk menjaga kelangsungan fungsi DAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi dukungan kelembagaan lokal dalam pengelolaan DAS. Metode penelitian adalah studi kasus dimana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, diskusi kelompok terarah dan observasi partisipan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kerangka kerja Situasi - Struktur - perilaku - kinerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan SDA DAS dianggap sebagai sumber akses terbuka gratis dimana setiap orang bebas mengeksploitasi sumber daya alam di dalamnya. Hal ini terkait dengan kondisi yang ada yang menunjukkan adanya saling ketergantungan antara pemerintah, sektor swasta dan masyarakat yang terlibat dalam pemanfaatan sumber daya bersama. Perilaku para pihak terkait pemanfaatan DAS sangat mempengaruhi kondisi DAS yang ada; Dimana kinerja pengelolaan sub DAS Cisadane hulu belum memberikan hasil yang maksimal karena pengelolaannya masih berlangsung secara sektoral.Kata kunci: Kelembagaan Lokal; Pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai; Sub DAS Ciaten Cisadane Hulu.

Abstract

This study aims to study the characteristics of briquettes from rice straw and rice husks in the form of moisture content, density, ash content, flight substance content, and heating value with different mixing variations in an effort to overcome the occurrence of deep forest / land fires to control forest or land fires in wetland areas by innovating and utilizing technology of straw and rice husks from post-harvest waste.  The test results showed, the characteristic values are not much different for each mixing variation and are still below the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 1-6235-2000, namely The heating value ranges from 2729.33 - 3492.14 cal/g (SNI ≥ 5000 cal/g), bonded carbon content ranges from 2.3524 -12.5870% (SNI ≥ 77%), ash content ranges from 27.3367 -29.8367% (SNI ≤ 8%) and the moisture content ranges from 18.2130 -28.8903% (SNI ≤ 8%). This is presumably due to the large content of the adhesive used, the pressing and drying processes that cause high water content, because high water content will cause a low calorific value. Low heating value will cause a large amount of ash content which causes a low value of bound carbon. However, overall charcoal briquettes from rice husks and rice straw can be applied to the community as a technological innovation that can be used in the use of post-harvest waste in an effort to control forest and land fires with land processing without burning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui rendemen arang sekam padi yang dihasilkan dari sekam padi kering dan sekam padi basah, selain itu juga untuk menguji kualitas asap cair sekam padi yang dihasilkan pada perlakuan yang berbeda berdasarkan pada standar mutu kualitas asap cair asal Jepang. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan informasi baru bagi masyarakat dan mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan limbah sekam padi serta asap cairnya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di workshop Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarbaru. Waktu penelitian direncanakan selama empat (4) bulan yakni dari bulan Maret sampai dengan bulan Juli 2015, yang meliputi persiapan kegiatan penelitian, pengamatan dan pengukuran parameter di lapangan, pengolahan data hingga penulisan laporan hasil penelitian. Sesuai dengan hasil analisis data dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa rendemen rata-rata sekam padi kering yaitu sebesar 46,25% dan rendemen rata-rata sekam padi basah yaitu sebesar 49,67%. Kualitas asap cair yang dihasilkan hanya pada kadar asam saja yang memenuhi standar kualitas asap cair asal Jepang sedangkan parameter lainnya masih belum memenuhi standar kualitas asap cair asal Jepang.The aim of this study was to determine the yield of paddy husk charcoal produced from dry paddy husk and wet paddy husk, and also to test the quality of liquid smoke paddy husks produced at different treatment based on the quality standard of Japanese quality liquid smoke. Results of this study are expected to provide new information for the public and to optimize the utilization of waste paddy husk and smoke melting. This study was carried out in the workshop of the Forestry Faculty of Lambung Mangkurat University Banjarbaru. When the study was planned for four (3) months, namely from April to July 2015, which includes the preparation of research activities, observation and measurement of parameters in the field, data processing, and writing research reports.In accordance with the results of the data analysis of the research that has been done can be concluded that the average yield of dry paddy husk in the amount of 46.25% and average yield of wet paddy husks in the amount of 49.67%. The quality of the resulting liquid smoke from Japan while the other parameters are still not meeting the quality standards of liquid smoke from Japan.

Abstract

Way Lalaan Waterfall is located in Kota Agung Timur, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung. Way Lalaan Waterfall has a lot of potential that can be developed into a great opportunity in the tourism sector in Tanggamus Regency. The purpose of this analysis is to find out how visitors and community perceptions of the development of Way Lalaan Waterfall Nature Tourism Objects in assessing tourist access and on the condition of the tourist attraction facilities. This observation uses a qualitative descriptive method. Primary data obtained through observation techniques and interviewing 99 visitors and 30 respondents from the respondent community using a questionnaire. In this study the data were analyzed using a likert scale measurement. Measurement of valuation instrument items on a likert scale that includes a range of values ≤ 5 means very good, range of values 4 ≤ 4.5 is good, range 3 ≤ 3.5 is sufficient, range 2 ≤ 2.5 is not good, and range ≥ 1 is not good, tourist accessibility (4,4) and included in the good category, assessment of physical condition (3,8) included in the good category, assessment of hygiene conditions (3,4) included in the adequate category, assessment of the condition of infrastructure (3,6) in the good category and in the rating of tourist satisfaction (4.0) in the good category. The results of the assessment of the average public perception of tourism support at Way Lalaan Waterfall (4.0) fall into either category. This shows that its need to be an increase in the field of cleanliness. Efforts to develop a tourist attraction can be done with a good and structured strategy  in order to increase interest in visiting the tourist attraction.

Abstract

. PT Suka Jaya Makmur adalah salah satu Hak Pengusahaan Hutan/IUPHHK yang berlokasi di Kalimantan Barat, yang mempraktekkan sistem silvikultur Tebang Pilih Tanam Jalur/ TPTJ. Tidak seperti HPH lain yang menerapkan Tebang Pilih Tanam Indonesia/TPTI. Dalam sistem TPTJ pemanenan pohon dilakukan pada pohon-pohon terpilih yang berdiameter 40 cm ke atas, selain itu dibuat jalur-jalur bersih untuk penanaman meranti diantara jalur-jalur berhutan alami. Sistem TPTJ mampu mencegah degradasi sumber daya hutan dibandingkan sistem TPTI yang umum digunakan, serta berpotensi menurunkan emisi Gas-gas Rumah Kaca/GRK. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pertumbuhan meranti dan mengukur potensi kondisi fisik kimia  lingkungan (silvika) dalam penanaman meranti pada sistem TPTJ.Kata Kunci :  Sistem Silvikultur Intensif/TPTJ, Riap Pertumbuhan Meranti, Kondisi Fisik & Kimia tanah tanaman Meranti
