Abstract

Immunization is the most effective and efficient public health effort in preventing diseases and reducing mortality rates such as smallpox, polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, measles, rubella and congenital rubella syndrome (CRS), tetanus, pneumonia (pneumonia) and meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain). The purpose of immunizing infants who have never been immunized and infants whose immunizations are incomplete. As an alternative solution to the problems that have been identified, immunization counseling activities are carried out for infants who have never been immunized or infants who are incompletely immunized. The methods used in this activity use several types of methods, namely: Counseling about side effects after immunization, and distribution of leaflets There were as many as 5 children identified in immunization activities, and there was an increase in knowledge for mothers and posyandu cadres after Community Service activities had gained knowledge about immunization and after being evaluated through a question and answer session, many did not know what the benefits and effects were side after immunization. It is expected that mothers who have babies/toddlers routinely bring their children to the nearest Puskesmas or Posyandu to get complete immunizations.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a significant global health problem, especially in females. Early detection of cervical cancer is essential in reducing mortality from this disease. Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) Test is an effective and affordable method to detect precancerous changes in the cervix. Knowledge of IVA tests and access to them can be challenging, especially in community environments such as Posyandu. Various strategies have been proposed to increase public understanding and awareness of the IVA Test. This includes training Posyandu cadres, socialization at Posyandu meetings, live demonstrations, and awareness campaigns. Partnerships with local health centres are also crucial for regular IVA Test services. By integrating these efforts, it is hoped that the public will be more aware of the importance of IVA tests for early detection of cervical cancer and have better access to this service. Doing so can increase the chances of early detection, reduce mortality from cervical cancer, and protect women's overall health

Abstract

Awareness about the dangers of cigarettes and their impact on the environment is an important aspect in efforts to maintain public health and nature preservation. Strong counseling and education is key in building this awareness. This community service aims to build public awareness about the dangers of cigarettes to human health and the environment and encourage positive actions to reduce their negative impacts. The methods used in community service include three stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. In conclusion, with joint commitment from various parties, we can build strong awareness about the dangers of cigarettes and encourage positive changes in people's behavior, both in terms of personal health and environmental conservation. First, robust and ongoing education about the dangers of cigarettes should be a key focus. By providing robust and relevant information, the public can understand the serious consequences of smoking and why it is important to avoid it. Then, a community-based approach involving families, schools, communities, and workplaces is important. Collaboration between stakeholders is needed to create a culture that does not support cigarette consumption

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that is transmitted by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Until now, Pulmonary Tuberculosis is still one of the main public health problems in the world, even though efforts to control Tuberculosis have been carried out in various countries. This disease, if left untreated, will cause death. The purpose of health promotion is to socialize self-prevention from TB. Lung. This community service uses a quantitative approach by using a questionnaire sheet as an instrument to find out the experiences of patients who have pulmonary TB and other communities to prevent it early. The post-test value with an average of 89% of participants answered correctly, higher than the pre-test value of 62%. The knowledge of the community at the Pertiwi Makassar city Health Center increased between 70-80% after being given counselling on self-prevention from TB Lung. The counselling used only with the lecture and demonstration method made the community understand self-prevention from TB Lung. The conclusion is that the posttest results show that the community’s knowledge is better than the posttest that has been done.

Abstract

In efforts to improve public health, it is necessary to implement clean and healthy living behaviours in the community to achieve a better standard of living. One strategy that can be used to earn a degree in public health is to provide education on public awareness of the importance of implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle. Community service activities aim to evaluate the impact of counselling on the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community related to clean and healthy living. The method involves organising counselling sessions in several communities through active community participation. We used pre-counseling and post-extension surveys to measure changes in knowledge levels and attitudes. Results showed a significant increase in people's knowledge levels after counselling. Interactive counselling sessions and clear information delivery successfully provided a better understanding of clean and healthy living principles. It concluded with the active participation of the community, the involvement of community leaders, and the use of relevant supporting materials. These findings have positive implications for developing health education programmes at the community level. Increased knowledge and attitudes are expected to change people's behaviour towards a healthier lifestyle.

Abstract

Stunting in toddlers is a global health problem that requires serious attention, especially in developing countries. This community service activity aims to examine the role of families in stunting prevention in toddlers, focusing on educational aspects. The family has a significant role in ensuring the optimal growth and development of children. This community service activity is carried out through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results showed that family education is closely related to stunting prevention, involving understanding nutrition, healthy eating, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Factors such as a family's education level, socioeconomic status, and access to health services affect a family's ability to implement stunting prevention practices. Therefore, appropriate and easily accessible educational programmes need to be developed to increase family knowledge and awareness about the importance of child growth and development. This activity recommends that the government, health institutions, and health practitioners integrate educational approaches into stunting prevention programmes. Collaborative efforts between various parties are needed to create an environment that supports optimal child growth and reduces stunting at the population level.
