Abstract

Advances in digital technology have encouraged prostitution service providers to transform from conventional prostitution to cyber prostitution by maximizing the use of information technology. This transformation also creates opportunities and threats for Prostitute Women (WTS) when they are active in the practice of the prostitution business. Although the vehicle for WTS practice has changed, the stigma against WTS continues to grow and is even more varied. This research explains comprehensively about the social environment of WTS; the growing stigma against WTS, the transformation of prostitution business services in the digital era, and how WTS's efforts to survive in the business. This article uses the literature review method. The results of this study found that in daily work activities, WTS often experience stigma and threats of violence from their surroundings and workplace. This stigma has resulted in the emergence of post-traumatic stress so that the mental health of WTS is disturbed and often feels afraid to face the surrounding environment. Another finding is that the transformation of prostitution services from conventional to cyber in fact does not reduce the stigma against WTS. Stigma against it is increasingly varied. Even so, WTS' drive to persist in cyber prostitution remains high. In fact, the work orientation of WTS in cyber prostitution is no longer just economic fulfillment, but to participate in the development of current trends. In order to survive in the transformed prostitution business, the social capital of WTS needs to be turned into a social security network for WTS to manage their stigma and minimize the threat of violence can naturally sustain cyber prostitution.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of women as regional leaders, in the East Java region precisely on the island of Madura in one period. Although initially the existence of women is also often doubted and looked at in one eye, not a few of them can answer with the achievement of very glorious achievements. Success in leading an area is not determined by its gender, but rather by the utilization of the abilities and potential possessed by the person himself. This study is qualitative descriptive, namely direct observation in four regions in the districts in Madura, with interview techniques, questionnaires, and also observations. The discussion of the role of female leaders or also called "klebun bhinik" in Madura, becomes a new marker for the existence of women themselves in social status that will be increasingly viewed. Because the position as a klebun is not only worth administrative, but also has a value of social standing. Therefore, it is not surprising that in the Madurese system that adheres to patriarchal values that are also Islamic, the role of klebun is more carried by a man. This opinion further strengthens that the position of the clergy of social value is more held by men so that the presence of klebun only continues the power that has been owned by his husband, father, or grandfather. Based on existing data can be concluded, that the existence of “klebun” in the land of Madura is indeed the successor of the previous power. They were also only administrative rulers because the real power was in the old klebun (husband, father, or grandfather) and reversed the social status in Madurese society. So it is not wrong if at the turning point women began to increase social status in the eyes of Madurese people in dynasties and power.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the macro socio-economic factors that affect the Happiness Index in Indonesia. The data used comes from the publications of BPS-Statistics Indonesia. The data used is panel data with a research period of 2014, 2017, and 2021 according to the publication time of the Happiness Index. The analysis model used is panel data regression analysis. Of the three panel models tested Common, Fixed, and Random), the fixed effects model was the best. The classical assumption test was carried out on the selected model. The result was that there were violations of the heteroscedastic and autocorrelation assumptions. Because it violates assumptions, the selected fixed effect model is transformed into the white cross-section GLS model. The results obtained, Simultaneously, all independent variables can influence the happiness index with a coefficient of 95 percent. The Gini ratio, the poor, and the open unemployment rate have a significant negative effect on the poverty index. In contrast, HDI, per capita/month expenditure, and economic growth positively impact happiness index. A comprehensive policy is needed so that the level of happiness of the Indonesian people continues to increase.

Abstract

Parental involvement in inclusive school is crucial for the development of children with special needs. Thus, the present study observed an inclusive primary school in Denpasar to identify the types of parental involvement in the school, the school's programs to involve parents, and the challenges faced by the teachers in involving parents in their children's education. Following Miles' and Huberman's (1994) model of Interactive Qualitative Data Analysis combined with Epstein's et al. (2002) types of parental involvement at school, the present study revealed that 1) all the six types of parental involvement’s in Epstein’s model were identified with an average of moderate frequency; 2) Seven programs were designed to involve the parents, namely, parenting seminar, class conference, WhatsApp Group discussion, Guest teacher, interactive project, field trip, and collaboration with English-speaking community; 3) there were moderate challenges in involving parents in communicating with the schools, in decision making, and in enrolling the parents in the school activities. This implies that there should be more deliberate effort from the parents in inclusive schools to be more involved in their children’s education, while schools should relentlessly initiate and inspire more intensive parental involvements in the schools’ program.

Abstract

This article reviews the difficulties of marginalized urban communities in Jakarta when carrying out social activities in the midst of a pandemic. In fact, many urban people live by maintaining a lifestyle with their group and tend to become urban rural communities. In this community, the social group becomes the main reference and even the reference in attitude. Social restrictions are considered to be a restraint on their habits and values, so that understanding the concept of social standing is in stark contrast to their daily habits and tends to be ignored. This paper provides an overview as well as a model of the cultural communication approach in collectivistic cultured communities that exist in village communities that are widely found in a number of big cities in Indonesia. The micro-ethnogafi method was applied to informants living on the outskirts of Ciliwung Kampung Pulo, East Jakarta. This study found that when the delivery of messages about COVID-19 was carried out through a cultural approach through the role of group leaders, the residents of Kampung Pulo were willing to interact by wearing masks and maintaining a minimum distance of one meter.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) are global pandemics that draw the world's attention. Since 1987, the cases of HIV/AIDS have been declared as a humanitarian crisis and have become a challenge to the development and progress of Indonesia. Even so, they didn’t have guidance from a psychological perspective such as therapy or other methods to strengthen the assistance. To this concern, this study aims to develop a module of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) in pastoral counseling service for PLHA in Maluku Protestants Church. The method used in the study was a Research and Development with ADDIE Model. There are five procedural stages of developing the module based on this model namely, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subject in the study were the servants of pastoral counseling in the Maluku Protestants Church who are spread in three service areas such as in Masohi City and Lease Islands (in Central Maluku Regency) and Ambon City (the capital of Maluku). The results conclude that the REBT module is effective for the pastoral counseling service to the PLHA in Maluku Protestants Church.

This qualitative research was done by applying the documentation recording method in collecting data and the Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics as the basic theory. The result of the data was presented in the table analysis and in the form of descriptive interpretation. The result showed that Google build its clauses with the 4 types of theme construction. From the analyzed clauses, the dominantly built clause is the single constituent with marked theme where “We” is the mostly occurred subject. Yet, Google applied unmarked theme mosty in their clauses. With this dominant occurences of “We”, Google construe its existence as the authority holders of the w hole agreement. The researchers found that similar finite predicator appeared repeatedly such “collect” and “use” in building its clauses. These constitute Google’s strategy in order to force the user’s permission to let Google freely access their privacy. In addition, the operation of the conjunction “and”, extention, expansion and exemplificatory constituents represent the plentiful request of Google related to its user’s information. Those summarized the violation conducted by Google to its user’s privacy. Keywords: clause, forensic-linguistics, misleading-statement, privacy, violation.
