Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group dynamics on the institutional capacity of beef cattle farmer groups in Gorontalo Regency. This research was conducted in Gorontalo Regency in February–June 2018. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. Determination of the sample is done by multistage sampling. The number of samples is 120 members of farmer groups. Data processing using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis on the AMOS program. The results showed that group dynamics affected the institutional capacity of farmers by 0.859. Each dynamics indicator contributes a good average including clear group goals 61.4% group structure 65.6%, task function 67.6%, group development coaching 58%, cohesiveness 60.2%, atmosphere 50% , 54.3% effectiveness, 63% pressure group and 74% desire group. The institutional capacity development of farmer groups cannot be separated from group dynamics that have a positive effect. Farmer groups as a forum that has the potential to move its members to interact and work together. The level of group dynamics is quite good, but the role of breeders must be more optimal in participating in the activities of the beef cattle business group Keywords: Cattle, Group dynamics, Institutional capacity

Abstract

It has become a routine for Muslims at the time of Eid al-Adha to slaughter sacrificial animals. Slaughtered animals must be healthy because if they carry a disease that can be transmitted to humans (zoonosis) then the animal is not fit to be sacrificed. In anticipation of oral and nail diseases that have entered Indonesia and anthrax that has existed in Gorontalo Province in recent years, it is necessary to carry out antemortem and postmortem examinations of sacrificial animals. The location of the antemortem and postmortem was carried out in several mosques in Bonebolango Regency with a total of 34 sacrificial animals examined consisting of cattle. The results obtained during the antemortem examination found 1 cow had cachexia (thinness) of 2.9% and 33 cows were in normal condition. From the post-mortem examination of 34 sacrificial cows, 26.5% of pneumonia cases were found, consisting of 1 case of interlobular pneumonia and 8 cases of aspiration pneumonia, and 20.5% of distomatosis (liver worms).

Abstract

The Etawa Crossbreed (PE) goat is a cross between an Etawa goat and a peanut goat which has the potential to produce milk. This study aims to determine the fat and protein content of Etawa goat's milk. The type of research used is experimental research with the treatment of taking milk in the morning. This study uses a T test with 3 treatments and 3 replications and the data from the calculation of the Analysis of Variance if it shows a significant difference then is further tested with the BNT and BNJ tests of 5%. Parameters in this study were fat and protein content. The results showed that the fat content of Etawa goat's milk was not significantly different. In the results of statistical analysis, it can be seen that the highest average fat content is at parity 3, which is 7.92%, from parity 2, which is 7.46% and parity 1, which is 6.03%. In the protein content of the highest average, the protein content in parity 2 is 5.46% compared to parity 3 which is 5.03% and parity 1 which is 5.0%. The conclusion is that Etawa goat's milk will have an effect on fat and protein levels, this can be seen at parity 3.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of the starter phase of super free-range chicken fed turmeric flour rations.This research was carried out from June to August 2020 at the Poultry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, State University of Gorontalo. A total of 80 super free-range chickens aged 1 day were used as research objects, using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method. The average weight gain, consumption and conversion of each treatment were: 103.85 g, 285.03g, 2.74 (P0); 99.16g, 275.49g, 2.78 (P1); 109.16g, 283.10g , 2.60 (P2); and 98.51g, 109.16g, 2.78(P3). These results illustrate that the provision of turmeric flour in the ration has no effect on super free-range chickens during their growth period. Super free-range chickens in the starter phase can be given turmeric flour up to 6% in their rations.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the level of application of Sapta Usaha on broiler breeders through a partnership pattern. The research was carried out for two months from December to February 2022. It was carried out in three broiler farms located in Tilongkabila, Kabila and Tapa sub-districts. The average age of broiler breeders is between 16-65 years and is included in the productive category. Breeder education, high school education, bachelor's, and master's degree. The application of the SAPTA for broiler business as a whole shows a very good value in applying the SAPTA for the livestock business with a score of 44.8 and the breeders apply the livestock business activities.

Abstract

Jerami sorgum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) berpotensi menjadi pakan alternatif penganti hijauan rumput. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan selulosa, hemiselulosa dan lignin silase ransum komplit dengan taraf jerami sorgum yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dirancang berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari: P1 = jerami sorgum 60% + rumput alam 30% + konsentrat 10%, P2 = jerami sorgum 70% + rumput alam 20% + konsentrat 10%, P3 = jerami sorgum 80% + rumput alam 10% + konsentrat 10%, P4 = jerami sorgum 90% + rumput alam 0% + konsentrat 10%. Parameter yang diukur adalah kandungan selulosa, hemiselulosa, dan lignin silase ransum komplit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penggunaan jerami sorgum dengan taraf 90% dalam silase ransum komplit nyata (P0,05) meningkatkan kandungan selulosa dan hemiselulosa dibandingkan perlakuan dengan taraf jerami sorgum 60%, 70% dan 80%, tetapi tidak berbeda nyata (P0,05) terhadap kandungan lignin silase. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa jerami sorgum dapat digunakan sampai pada taraf 80% dalam silase ransum komplit dengan kandungan selulosa 19,78% sampai dengan 25,81%, hemiselulosa 12,18% sampai dengan 13,81%, dan lignin 5,42% sampai dengan 5,77%. Kata Kunci : jerami sorgum, silase,  selulosa, hemiselulosa, lignin

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh taraf jerami sorgum dalam silase ransum komplit terhadap bobot organ reproduksi dan kandung kemih pada kambing lokal.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai dengan November 2021 diKandang Percobaan Jurusan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Negeri Gorontalo.  Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL).  Perlakuan adalah subtitusi antara rumput alam/lapangan dengan jerami Sorgum yaitu P1 (30 : 60), P2 (20 : 70), P3 (10 : 80), dan P4 (0 : 90) masing-masing 3ulangan, sehingga terdapat 12 (4 perlakuan x 3 ulangan) unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, perlakuan pemberian silase ransum komplit mengandung jerami sorgum dengan taraf yang berbeda pada kambing lokal jantan yang dipelihara secara intensif selama sepuluh minggu  berpengaruh tidak nyata (P0.05) terhadap bobot organ reproduksi (penis dan testis) dan kandung kemih.  Bobot organ reproduksi kambing lokal jantan yaitu 74.25 gr - 86.20 gr (bobot penis yaitu 17.55 gr - 18.50 gr dan bobot testis yaitu 56.70 gr - 67.70 gr) dan bobot kandung kemih kambing lokal jantan yaitu 5.73 gr - 6.70 gr.Kata Kunci :kambing lokal, organ reproduksi, kandung kemih

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan yang mengandung larva maggot terhadap kandungan protein dan lemak dalam daging ayam kampung unggul balitnak. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), terdiridari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Setiap ulangan menggunakan 5 ekor ayam, sehingga total ayam kampung unggul balitnak yang digunakan sebanyak 100 ekor. Perlakuan yang diberikanyaitu P0 = ransumtanpa larva maggot, P1= ransumdengan 2,5% larva maggot, P2= ransumdengan 5% larva maggot, P3= ransumayamdengan 7,5% larva maggot dan P4= ransum dengan 10% larva maggot. Setelah ayam berumur 8 minggu (56 hari) , kemudian dipotong dan diambil daging dada dan paha bagian kanan untuk dianalisis kandungan protein dan lemak daging. Jika terdapat pengaruh nyata antara perlakuan maka akan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan yang mengandung larva maggot memberikan pengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap kandungan protein pada daging, dan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap kandungan lemak pada daging ayam KUB. Disimpulkan bahwa, pemberian pakan yang mengandung larva maggot menghasilkan kadar protein (24,90% - 23,73%) dan kandungan lemak (2,97% - (3,17%) pada daging ayam Kampung Unggul Balitnak (KUB). Berdasarkan hasil analisis nilai tertinggi yang dicapai kandungan protein daging terdapat pada perlakuan P2 sebesar 25,87 % yang di ikuti perlakuan P0 24,90 %, P1 24,36 %, P3 24,86 % dan nilai terendah ada pada perlakuan P4 sebesar 23,73 %. Dan berdasarkan hasil analisis pada kandungan lemak daging yang telah dilakukan memperoleh rata dengan persentase berkisar P0 (2,97 %), P1 (3,38 %), P2 (2,56 %), P3 (3,03 %), P4 (3,17 %).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation on the performance of farmers and the level of motivation of beef cattle farmers in Limehu Village, Tabongo District, Gorontalo Regency. The research method used is a survey method by preparing primary and secondary data. Descriptive analysis was used to determine the level of motivation while simple linear regression analysis was used to determine the effect of motivation on farmer performance. The results showed that the level of motivation on the performance of farmers in Limehu Village, Tabongo District, Gorontalo Regency was included in the very high category with a score of 1688. This was due to internal and external factors having a significant effect on farmer motivation. The effect of farmer motivation on performance is obtained by the correlation coefficient (r) 1.5 and the coefficient of determination (r2) 0.015 which shows that the influence of motivation on performance is 1.5%.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui kecernaan lemak kasar danseratkasar formulasi pakan lmpur sawit fermentasi.menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL)dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan,  terdiri dari P0 : Ransum ayam tanpa lumpur sawit fermentsi/non fermentasi, P1: Ransum + 10% lumpur sawit fermentasi, P2: Ransum + 10% lumpur sawit non fermentsi, P3: Ransum + 20% lumpur sawit fermentasi, P4: Ransum + 20% lumpur sawit non fermentasi. parameter yang diukur  adalah kecernaan lemak kasar dan serat kasar, Hasil yang didapat dengan menggunakan pakan lumpur sawit fermentasi ada pada P2,P3 dan P4 (87.33%).
