Abstract

This research discusses the transition from the Trans-Asia Pacific Partnership to a comprehensive and progressive agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership after the departure of the United States. The United States, which was the original signatory to the Trans Asia – Pacific Partnership agreement, simply withdrew when Donald Trump led the United States. The withdrawal of the United States raises questions considering the benefits that will be gained from the Trans-Asia  Pacific Partnership agreement. International organization theory will explain the evolution of the transition from the Trans-Asia Pacific Partnership to a comprehensive and progressive agreement on the Trans-Pacific Partnership after the departure of the United States. Meanwhile, the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which presents an in-depth picture of the social situation and describes the case clearly.

Abstract

Afghanistan has experienced a prolonged armed conflict, resulting in a worsening humanitarian crisis marked by food insecurity, women’s rights restrictions, and disruption of formal education. This situation deteriorated further after the Taliban regained control in 2021, a regime not fully recognized by the international community. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as a major international organization representing 57 Muslim-majority countries, responded by adopting the Resolution on the Humanitarian Situation in Afghanistan. In its implementation, the OIC established a Humanitarian Trust Fund through the Islamic Development Bank, sent a delegation of scholars to address women’s issues, mandated the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) to coordinate food-related initiatives, issued political warnings regarding terrorism, and established a permanent OIC office in Kabul. The OIC's approach prioritized peaceful mechanisms such as mediation, negotiation, and multilateral coordination, seeking a collective response to resolve Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach to examine the OIC’s role. The findings reveal that the OIC actively fulfills its function as an international organization through institutional mechanisms and diplomacy to contribute to a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of geopolitical factors on Bitcoin price movements from 2022 to 2024. Employing a qualitative, explanatory approach, the research draws on secondary data from scholarly literature, official reports, and credible online sources. The analysis is grounded in the Geopolitical Risk theory, focusing on six indicators: armed conflict, foreign policy changes, international sanctions, regional tensions, terrorism threats, and diplomatic crises. Findings reveal that armed conflicts, particularly the Russia-Ukraine war and the Iran-Israel confrontation, had the most significant and immediate effect on Bitcoin prices, often triggering panic selling and market downturns. Other geopolitical events, such as U.S.-China tensions and international arrest warrants, produced less pronounced effects or even positive sentiment, depending on investor perceptions. Regulatory developments, such as the UK's crypto legislation, were associated with short-term price gains, suggesting geopolitical stability can enhance market confidence. The study concludes that while Bitcoin operates outside traditional financial systems, it remains highly sensitive to global geopolitical developments. Armed conflicts continue to be the primary driver of volatility, underscoring the importance of geopolitical awareness for investors and policymakers in the evolving digital asset landscape.
