Abstract

A rising number of Cambodian students at all levels are attempting to improve their English language proficiency as a result of the growing demand for English language instruction. Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) techniques are crucial for student progress, yet their effective teaching in classrooms is frequently absent. This study used a unique methodology that concentrated on TVET students’ perception of their teachers’ encouragement of SRL techniques. In order to promote SRL during regular classroom instruction, ten TVET center teachers completed a professional learning program and sent in a video clip of their lessons. Thirty students participated in semi-structured stimulated recall interviews with these videos as stimuli. Students were instructed to use “What, When, Why, and How?” to explain how their teachers taught SRL strategies. It looked at relationships between teachers’ behaviors, methods of promotion, and choice of strategy type and situations in which students gave a clear explanation of the goal and potential for transfer of SRL strategies. The findings show that students were most aware of SRL instruction when it included the strategy’s name, a clear application procedure, teacher explanations of how and why the strategy enhances learning, and prompts to encourage students to give examples of transfer. These findings are presented in relation to how educators may effectively encourage SRL in the classroom.

Abstract

In Cambodia, Secondary Resource Schools (SRSs) serve a unique purpose that extends beyond academic success to encompass the fostering of character development and spiritual growth. Understanding academic leadership practices is especially important due to the dual focus on academic and spiritual outcomes, as these leaders create the conditions for both cognitive and spiritual development. Given its importance, the fundamental purpose of this study was to explore how academic leadership styles (instructional and servant) influence the internal culture of the SRSs in Cambodia. To collect survey data from 150 teachers at SRSs in Cambodia, this study used a quantitative approach. The Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS), the Servant Leadership Questionnaire (SLQ), and the School Culture Survey (SCS) are well-known tools for assessing servant leadership, instructional leadership, and school culture. Their validation in earlier research ensures the applicability of these instruments to the goals of this study. The study's results demonstrate that instructional and servant leadership have a significant influence on school culture in SRSs in Cambodia. While instructional leadership had a stronger influence on academic and professional growth, servant leadership had a statistically significant influence on aspects of community and collaboration. Each of the two leadership styles had a more noticeable impact on distinct facets of school culture. The study’s conclusions point to several tactical methods for implementing effective leadership practices in SRSs in Cambodia. Based on these findings, conclusions and recommendations for future research are provided.

Abstract

The architecture of cultural heritage buildings not only represents historical and aesthetic values but also exhibits a regularity in form that can be studied through mathematical approaches. This research aims to examine the application of the concept of geometric transformation in the architectural patterns and proportions of the cultural heritage of the Cirebon Kejaksan Office Station and to uncover its relationship with local cultural values through an ethnomathematical perspective. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with visual observation and photographic documentation of the building's front appearance components, including doors, windows, vents, arches, and ornaments. The analysis is focused on identifying geometric transformations in the form of reflection, shift, and magnification based on patterns of repetition, symmetry, and scale variation of architectural components. The results of the research show that the front view of the Kejaksan's Station reflects strong bilateral symmetry, shifts through the consistent repetition of door and window modules, and enlarges through variations in component dimensions that maintain the harmony of shape. In addition, the geometric patterns observed are consistent with the principles of repetition and balance in Cirebon culture, thereby reflecting the acculturation of colonial architecture with local values. These findings confirm that the Kejaksan Station has the potential to serve as a source of contextual learning in transformation geometry.

Abstract

This study maps the development of ethnomathematics research from 2020 to 2025 through a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed publications. Using VOSviewer, publication trends, influential authors, institutional collaborations, and thematic structures were identified and visualised. The findings reveal substantial growth in ethnomathematics publications beginning in 2021, with Indonesia emerging as the most productive contributor. Four dominant thematic clusters were identified: teacher pedagogy, cultural artefacts and symbolism, cognitive development in geometry and spatial reasoning, and sociocultural knowledge systems. Visualisation analyses indicate a thematic transition from traditional cultural documentation toward innovation in instructional media and 21st-century learning approaches. The results highlight the pivotal role of teachers in mediating cultural knowledge within classroom practices. Overall, the study demonstrates that ethnomathematics is evolving into a multidimensional research field that integrates culture, education, cognition, and technology, while offering promising directions for future research in computational ethnomathematics, culturally responsive pedagogy, and digital learning environments.

Abstract

Dyscalculia is a mathematics learning disability that is receiving increasing attention in international research. However, systematic mapping of the development and direction of global research in this field remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze global research trends on dyscalculia from 2020 to 2025 by examining publication dynamics, thematic structure, and collaboration patterns among researchers and countries. This study employed a bibliometric approach with data obtained from the Scopus database. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software to visualize the network of keyword co-occurrences, authorship, and geographic distribution of publications. The analysis results show a significant increase in publications, particularly after 2021, reflecting growing scientific attention to dyscalculia in the context of mathematics learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental research. The thematic analysis identified five main clusters: cognitive, pedagogical, psychological, demographic, and theoretical, which are interconnected and demonstrate that dyscalculia is understood as a multifactorial disorder involving both cognitive and instructional aspects. Furthermore, research contributions are still dominated by developed countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, although contributions from Indonesia and other developing countries are increasing. These findings underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations integrating neuroscience, pedagogy, and technology as a foundation for developing inclusive, evidence-based learning interventions for students with dyscalculia.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is recognized as a core competency in mathematics education; however, a comprehensive overview of its research development and thematic evolution remains limited. This study aims to map the research landscape of mathematical reasoning over the last decade in order to identify publication trends, influential contributors, and emerging research themes. A quantitative bibliometric approach was employed using Scopus-indexed journal articles, which were analyzed and visualized through VOSviewer to examine co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic evolution. The findings indicate a significant growth in publications since 2018, reflecting increasing global attention to mathematical reasoning. The results further reveal that research in this field has developed multidimensionally, integrating cognitive, pedagogical, evaluative, and contextual dimensions, with a recent shift toward assessment practices, problem-based learning, and technology-enhanced instruction. These findings confirm that mathematical reasoning has become a mature and strategically important field in mathematics education, while highlighting opportunities for further research that integrate digital innovation and deep learning-oriented approaches.

Abstract

Employee performance in educational institutions is frequently associated with leadership style, empowerment practices, and organizational commitment; however, comprehensive empirical models integrating these variables, particularly within private school contexts, remain underexplored. This study aims to analyze the influence of servant leadership on employee empowerment, examine the effect of empowerment on the three dimensions of organizational commitment (affective, normative, and continuance), assess their impact on job performance, and test the moderating role of perceived supervisor support. A quantitative research design was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected from 161 private school teachers in Tangerang through purposive sampling and analyzed using SmartPLS 4. Measurement validity and reliability were confirmed prior to hypothesis testing, and structural relationships were evaluated through bootstrapping procedures. The findings indicate that servant leadership significantly enhances employee empowerment, and empowerment positively influences affective, normative, and continuance commitment. Among these dimensions, only affective commitment has a significant positive effect on job performance, whereas normative and continuance commitment do not. Furthermore, perceived supervisor support does not moderate the relationship between employee empowerment and the three commitment dimensions. The results highlight the pivotal role of empowerment and emotional attachment in driving teacher performance and underscore servant leadership as a strategic mechanism for strengthening empowerment in educational organizations.

Abstract

This study stems from the problems of moral crisis and academic ethical degradation in contemporary Islamic education, indicating that the integration of spiritual dimensions into the learning process is not yet optimal. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the process of internalizing Sufi moral values in Islamic education practices and identify their impact on character building among students. The research uses a qualitative approach, employing field research methods such as direct observation, in-depth interviews, and the analysis of documentation from lecturers and students, who serve as the main informants. The results show that the internalization of Sufi moral values occurs through three main mechanisms: integrating values into the curriculum and learning, consistent spiritual habits, and strengthening communication ethics in academic interactions. Values such as sincerity, patience, humility, and muraqabah (self-reflection) have been proven to shape polite attitudes, improve emotional control, and strengthen students’ academic integrity. These findings confirm that the internalization of Sufi moral values contributes to the development of a dialogical, reflective, and character-oriented Islamic educational culture.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of improving madrasah quality amid rapid educational transformation, in which many institutions still rely on bureaucratic, routine-based management practices that limit innovation and institutional learning. The objective of this research is to develop and analyze an Islamic values-based learning organization model as a strategic framework for sustainably enhancing the quality of madrasahs. The study employed a qualitative case study approach conducted in three State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAN) in Majalengka Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, administrative staff, and students. The data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of organizational transformation and quality improvement. The findings reveal that the implementation of the model led to measurable improvements in four key areas: (1) increased teacher professionalism through collaborative and reflective learning practices, (2) transformation of instructional methods toward participatory and technology-supported learning, (3) strengthening of Islamic-based organizational culture characterized by shared values such as taqwa, ikhlas, and amanah, and (4) enhanced institutional autonomy through participatory and ethical leadership. The integration of learning organization principles with Islamic values functioned not merely as normative guidance but as operational mechanisms driving continuous improvement. This study concludes that an Islamic values-based learning organization model provides a holistic, context-sensitive framework that promotes both academic excellence and character development in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study addresses the growing challenge faced by Islamic da’wah institutions in balancing managerial effectiveness with the preservation of spiritual values. Many religious organizations struggle to integrate performance-based leadership with transcendental and prophetic principles, leading to either managerial stagnation or value dilution. In response to this issue, this research aims to examine how a spiritual-transformational leadership model is constructed at the Al-Bahjah Da'wah Development Institute (LPD) and how it shapes organizational culture and institutional commitment. This study employs a qualitative design grounded in a constructivist paradigm. Data were collected through systematic field observation, in-depth interviews with organizational actors, and analysis of institutional documentation. The data were analyzed using thematic interpretation involving coding, categorization, and reflective triangulation to ensure credibility and analytical rigor. The findings reveal that leadership at LPD Al-Bahjah is built on the integration of tawhid-based values, moral exemplarity (uswah), a visionary da’wah orientation, and the structured empowerment of human resources. This integration generates a religious-adaptive organizational culture characterized by collective worship practices, high member loyalty, ethical innovation, and sustained institutional growth. The study demonstrates that spiritual and transformational dimensions function synergistically rather than separately, forming a leadership model that strengthens organizational identity, commitment, and resilience amid contemporary social change.
